99.999 % of all cars on the road are stock engines. The stock Harley runs fine and fast enough. You don't need to get caught up in the speed game. It's costly and usually not as dependable as stock. People have been traveling America with Harley long before 1949 Hydra glide but that bike made it real comfortable. The Hydra glide made about 55HP and it was enough for 2 up and travel in America.
honestly i don't get why people think they need to soup up their harleys. i've owned everything from liter super sport bikes to vmaxes to 50cc scooters. my nearly 20 year old stock road king has plenty of grunt and speed. more than enough to put a smile on my face every time i take it out.
Anybody refusing to service and work on their own bike deserves to be charged out the a$$ for maintenance and mods. Ive seen garbage work from both dealer and indy and at the end of the day it's your life and not theirs...
I hate getting stomped by a Honda Goldwing, pulling away from a light! Absolutely they should make at least the same power as competing bikes, without the stupid CVO/Screamjng Eagle price tag
I tell my Bro this all the time. He finally looked at his receipts and was stunned he had spent 50% more on his motor than buying one. I told him labor would eat his lunch and offered to put the parts on it for a cold beer but he opted to have the dealership install them and now he walks funny. Always holding his butt cheeks after he gets his bike back...😂😂😂
I have a 2011 Harley Ultra Limited. When I bought it, the previous owner had installed Screaming Eagle stage I and RC Components Excalibur slip on exhausts. During Covid, I installed Wood Performance TW222 cams, S&S high flow oil pump, S&S rocker arms and lifters. I got it tuned at Harley because it was close to my house but otherwise, I don't use HD parts.....too expensive.
I know a famous Harley engine builder who uses Screaming Eagle adjustable push rods instead of S&S or other brands. He swears the SE ones are the best and strongest of any of them.
When you been crafting for a long time you find what works and what doesn't. I am not going to knock a craftsman's choice. I like SE high compression pistons. I can't prove it other than l like the results and they work 🤷♂️.
I have been bit hard in the past once a little bit and once to the tune of a 113 Pro Race Kit on a 96. Parts that should have been upgraded weren’t and I had several of the common failures you have talked about but unfortunately I didn’t have facebook. I am a retired mechanic and have worked for Harley Davidson long ago and hadn’t caught up with things. I learned quickly but it cost 💲 me. Great videos. Now it’s after market for me. Thank you.
Finally, another technical vids comin' up!!! Screw those company policy & management, we're just wanting to know about techs and tips like you used to upload. I've been stuck with SE and another OEM things all this time. Well, I guest i'm gonna looking for some aftermarket things (oil, fast moving parts etc). Salam dari Indonesia 🤟
Back in the day my friends called it screaming chicken. I still own my first HD it's a '95 FXDL and it has screaming chicken pipes on it which may or may not have made a difference other than noise which is still music to my ears. Thanks gix!
2012 Ultra Limited 103. It does what I need. It can do the speed limit, hell I'm 73 yo. The 103 is like the Chevy 350, it just does it's job...If I do anything to it, it will be S&S...
I’m damn impressed with screaming eagle parts they are amazing performance bought a cvost added a big bore kit with epa tune to make 153 hp 150 torque on pump gas is truly amazing……….. and just a cam change and tuner 186 hp 164 torque that’s just crazy to me!!
Screaming Eagle Evo heads were made by S&S, they just replaced a mold section that had the S&S logo for a S-E logo. A Screaming Eagle Evo cam from a sealed Stage II FI kit was an Andrews EV -27 and marked as such. Some valve train stuff was Jim's. H-D outsources a lot of stuff from the aftermarket manufacturers, it's just got their packaging & logo. And warranty. H-D does kinda stick it to the actual manufacturers. They must sign a confidentiality agreement, and not let it be known who makes what. That last until the next trade show party! At a 50% premium!
I read a few comments from guys on another channel that were highly pissed spending over 400 dollars on the new screaming eagle tuner for the 24 models. Harley still has to comply with EPA regulations with those tuners. They might have gotten a few extra HP with those weak EPA tunes. I said screw it and went with a powervision and love it. I quit buying cheap made high priced Harley crap. I am full aftermarket.
I did a stage 1 on my 23 low rider s and got the tuner and auto tuner to keep my warranty intact. The auto tuner is even more expensive than the tuner. I got 15% off and some free service thrown in by the dealer. Rides like a dream. All the power I need and I need lots to stay away from the cagers here in Philly
If you happy with it that’s all that matters man. I didn’t care about my warranty and voided it the day I bought it. To each their own. Stay safe my friend.
My experience with a specific SE part turned almost disastrous. I bought SE rocker arm supports thinking they were more durable and compatible with a new ‘98 big bore kit from FuelMoto. Long story short, after a $1500 U-Haul rental to get my bike home, from Couer d’Alain Idaho to Alberta (Canada), I disassembled the bike and found the rear rocker arm support cracked in three places on the push rod side. The only difference between stock and SE is that the SE support is reinforced on the value side. The pushrod side on the SE is no different from stock. The SE support is made from porous pot metal. I would be ashamed to stamp SE on a poorly designed part like that if I was Harley. Be very cautious when buying Harley SE parts, with the assumption they are better. This experience caused me a lot of grief and stress, not to mention a big drain on my bank account.
You're right about how screamin eagle used to be ok, I've got some old SE 2 mufflers that were too loud to use for early morning starts at home, I've never bought new SE parts though.
Did a screaming eagle stage 4 110ci on my 2015 Ultra last year... The 103ci had bad blow by and dumped all the oil so it was covered by my extended warranty... So I just had to pay out of pocket for the upgrades... $2,300 ? Then I bought a 5 year extended warranty to cover the screaming eagle parts... Noticeably more power and a little louder, and a slight loss in gas mileage/range on a full tank... The only downside was the 80 something days waiting on the cylinders...
🛑🛑 As a CVO bike buyer…. I always thought it was ironic that the CVO bikes (originally called Sceaming Eagle Bikes, as I once owned one) that those bikes get all the “External Goodies”, but not the “Internal Goodies” to make the bike “run as good as it looks”??? Especially since the purchase price of a CVO bike, is at a Premium Price Point. 🤷♂️💯 I would think that would be part of the “total package”, or what someone is paying a Premium Price for. 😂🤷♂️ I put a Stage 4 Kit, in my CVO Ultra Limited, currently. I used Screaming Eagle parts in it, and it runs FANTASTIC!!
I agree with you Gixxerfoo! I have never used Screamin' Eagle parts. You get better power for less money with the aftermarket. All you need is Wood, V&H, and S&S and have all the power you could ever want, and for less money!
still use and Love my Screamin Eagle Race Tuner, even before the super tuner came out, You can change everything individually even between the cylinders. timing, injector pulse, fuel ratios, everything, matched to the bike by serial numbers. Awesome tuner, I'm running 13.8 fuel ratio through the entire RPM range, not good mileage, but runs real cool and has tons of power, A 2002 twin cam 88 bumped up to a 95, turning out 106 HP and 107 ft lb tq, its one bad little 95. Unless they are running stage kits or mods, it eats 107's & 114' Milwaukee 8's all day, shows em tail light and they just can't believe it
Never bought into the Eagle scam, thought that since the start, mostly because I knew I'd get use to the power and want more., like I always do. So the thought of wasting 2k 3k 4k or more knowing I'd be bored with it in just a few months I couldnt stomach it. Ride the stock bike, shop around do my homework on what I want/need then give the aftermarket my card. Much funner that way to me. Keeps the shop talk interesting. You know like mines faster than yours, beer and babes ! Great vids, always look foward to em !
I appreciate your video on this subject. When you think about it after purchasing all these Screamin Eagle products to make your bike more powerful you’re exactly right in that it’s probably cheaper to buy a whole new engine. I have a 2010 Dyna Wide Glide and although I would like to have more power from my TC 96 I can’t really justify the cost. To me it’s more important to spend the money on suspension and a comfortable seat to make it ride better. Yeah my stock TC isn’t going to win many races but it has enough power to get a speeding ticket.
I can't stress enough how important putting money in a suspension and seat is. You can build the meanest, evil motor, but what good is it if you have talk yourself into getting on the bike cause it just sucks to ride. Suspension and seats is so overlooked, yes it's expensive to upgrade and it's not glorious. But, l have never heard anyone, ever, regret spending the money on suspension or a seat.
I went with the Screamin Eagle tuners on my 2 103 motors. I used aftermarket intake filters and exhausts. I used Screamin Eagle synthetic oils and filters only because of the discount I get using my credit card points. I'm pretty sure that any other brand would be just as good and cheaper!
I have a screaming eagle air filter, compensator, and adjuster. All are good. I wouldn't get a performance part from them. Fueling, S&S are all on my list before the eagle, kakaaw.
Never had the urge to buy SE parts. I'm happy putting around the countryside by myself on my stock bike. It's my decompression chamber. If I wanted speed, I'd buy a bike designed for setting my hair on fire.
Even before the EPA got so absurd, SE parts were less desirable in my opinion. The typical scenario used to be, customer buys new bike then realizes it doesn't really look like or perform like they thought it would. Customer hits one of the forums and asks advice about how to get better performance. Customer gets solid advice about what aftermarket parts and what mods to do to get the performance customer should have gotten from the factory. Customer then balks at aftermarket parts because customer doesn't want to void his factory warranty. So customer ultimately buys SE parts and, for a while enjoys the new performance improvement. Customer quickly realizes that his expensive dealer installed SE parts aren't resulting in the performance he was expecting and he is still getting regular ass kickings by his buddy's bike(s). Customer then goes back to forums and wonders about a different cam, or different tuner (my personal favorite), or different exhaust, etc, etc. Customer once again is given solid advice by other forum members. Customer then realizes warranty is almost up and so takes another expensive plunge, this time heeding the advice of those on the forum(s) who had tried to advise him.....twice, and pays more money for the recommended aftermarket parts and independent shop installation and tune.Customer posts a much improved dyno sheet on the forum(s) and posts that he is now finally happy with the performance and never posts on the forum(s) again.
I've dumped a kings ransom into SE over the years and finally have seen the "light" about them. Bought an Anniversary Triglide last year in March with the SE Stage 2 (cams, air cleaner) as part of deal, and of course the SE "tuner". HD didn't complete the tuning of the SE tuner until mid July so the parts could not be installed until then. And when they did get them installed the tune provided by HD did not recognize the Triglide as liquid cooled so the computer did not inform the cooling system to work. So i drove from July to about September with an air cooled 114. All working now but you got to wonder about the long term effect of driving in TX heat for half a summer. SE - not worth it for money spent!
The cost to performance ratio just isn’t worth it even if you’re not worried about resale. Exhaust, airbox, and tune with a big bore kit is the absolute furthest I’d ever go on a Harley personally. Beyond that, Its more cost effective to just buy a sport bike to keep next to the Harley in the garage for when your feeling spicy. A stock 600 supersport will obliterate a $50,000 ‘stage 6’ or however many there are now Harley.
@@El_Peto I’ve put 4000 miles on my Harley this season so far and haven’t broken down once. A lot of Harley’s are actually very reliable when you take care of them and don’t skip maintenance. Ive heard most of the reliability issues are form electronics in the big touring bikes. The shaking thumping V twin feels awesome, it’s like driving a classic muscle car, which were horrendously slow by today’s standards. Just because you don’t like them and they don’t go 200mph doesn’t mean they’re junk.
@@El_Peto it’s the opposite. I’m literally a mechanic by trade and I own 3 vehicles that have never seen a shop and 2 of them have over 200k on them and the other is a Harley. Keyboard warriors who don’t know anything about maintaining machines are the ones that say they’re not reliable. Also the model and year makes a big difference when talking about reliability. I’ve used Harley’s service intervals and checklist since brand new and I’ve never broken down.
Good morning 🌅, GixxerFoo, I hope you are keeping safe and well, and all your followers, , when I had my 2000 Deuce that was new , I had put about 15/20 thousand miles on the clock, I had 1550 + and all the work done on it, + 2-1 exhaust, Boom Can , HSR 45, cams ignition, oil pump camp plate, this was quite of the mark and top end, there was no one in my chapter that could keep up with me, I’ve now got a 2003 deuce , which has had some work done it as SS cams, but it does not pull like my original original bike does,, I’m hoping later in the year as I’m not going to be able to ride, until probably next spring, partly due to weather, and partly to do with I have carpal tunnel syndrome, and having problems hanging on the bike, my hand goes numb, There is a joke about that, 😂, As we all know by now , if not, there’s been something on the, over 40,000 bikes have been recalled, something to do with wiring I believe, Not good , you are now paying a very very premium price for a bike that is not up to standard, we are being short shifted, And as we are a minority we are being taken advantage of , and because of the rules and regulations to do with airflow mixture fuel, the bikes are running too hot, which intern gives us problems, the bikes do not last as long as they should do, I think it’s about time that somebody stands up to the authorities, as they are control freaks, and I’ve had one of those, my x and a few relations with them as well in the past, Sorry, I could go on for hours , All the shit that’s going on in the world at the moment, Put your art and soul into your work and your business to try and earn a decent living and you get scammed, whether it is from your part, or somebody that you would expect to be loyal and trustworthy, Ride safe boys and girls, From France,
Purchased a set of Screamin' Eagle slip-on mufflers for my 2007 Fatboy purchased in 2006, due to no aftermarket mufflers available for the redesigned Fatboy. The slip-ons had a 90 day warranty. The fiberglass inside the mufflers started coming out between the baffle and outer housing in 98 days. Dealership would not warranty them, because the warranty period had passed by 8 days.
I think you are 100% correct. I’ve stayed with HD parts so as not to void my extended warranty. I’ve bought the warranty on 3 bikes and had to use it on each, in each case the warranty coverage pretty much matched what I had paid for it. Sad but true! I fully agree a woods cam will meet or exceed the bump you get from most any stage kit, but that would void the warranty!
I have a 2010 road glide screamin eagle and I made the mistake of installing a 583c cam and the bike run like crap so listening to you has convinced me to put the stock cam back in
I always appreciated your channel because it was more educational in nature. I have learned a lot about Harley Davidson engines due to the knowledge you have shared. As your channel shifts towards a "Harley hate channel", I hope you wont stop making videos about the good aspects of Harley Davidson.
My 120R motor is "screaming eagle" with a wood cam. It's got over 25K miles on it and the only repair it's needed was worn cam shoes and a compensator all the internals look great. I felt most comfortable going with a Harley crate motor and so far it's paid off. I expect a lot more miles out of it.
I have watched guys fall for this for decades. One guy went stage 4 last year and promptly BLEW UP his SG less than 2k miles later. I'm lucky... I was born without a horsepower care and I had 155k on a 80" twin cam. Got amoat 63k on my 2007 Road King Custom 96 TC now. All these bikes are SO powerful compared to a Honda 125 cub... the bike people literally ride around the world! Selling horsepower to guys is easy... it's like women buying fake giant boobs... easy sell for they think they want.
I have a 2014 CVO Breakout with the Screamin' Eagle 110. It doesnt feel like a scam to me. It feels like it has significantly more torque than my TC103 had but it also wants to run much hotter. I had to add an oil cooler to it my first summer.
I ride a 2020 RGL with the 114 M8, that has all the power I need. I have no interest in any SE or aftermarket parts. Never go pass 4K rpm on the engine anyway. Know a lot of people who have mods to the engine and wish they never did. Worse fuel mileage, mechanical issues, and drivability. I'm glad HD doesn't put those parts on straight from the factory.
I don’t mind Harley stuff, here in Australia, I’ve found the labour is the same as any other shop. After market parts aren’t always trouble free. Just my experience. 🍻
The problem isn’t the Screaming Eagle parts, it’s that the EPA has made it so difficult to tune so that you can utilize the parts utilizing most aftermarket tuners, however you can still dyno tune…
I have the Screaming Eagle Hi-Flow air filter and slip-ons. After that, I went with the S&S 475 cam chest, Fulsac header and Rinehart slip-ons. Big difference.
I didn't buy them but my evo has screamin eagle heads and pistons with screamin eagle tuner. Woods cam and a mikuni.. it is an absolute beast lol. Night and day from my evo road king with just a cam and pipes I had before it
I'll admit I fell for it too. Blank canvas for the price of a painting. Yeah I was a sucker. "Premium motorcycle" what is the biggest lie Harley-Davidson ever told. The upgraded parts should absolutely be on there already if they consider themselves a premium motorcycle. Harley-Davidson is the only motor company in the world that the customers pay for the fixes instead of a recall.
The Power Vison PV4 tuner, K&N breather assembly, and a Jagg fan assisted, horizontal oil cooler for my ‘06 Dyna Wide Glide are enough for me. I had plans of going to 98 cid with cams, a billet cam plate, and high volume oil pump but after installing the K&N air cleaner and doing the PV4 tune I’m happy with what I’ve got. It saves me a lot of work and a couple of grand while making the bike much enjoyable to ride. If I were going to do any of the mods I mentioned previously I’m sure that they wouldn’t come from Screamin’ Eagle. My next mod to my Wide Glide needs to be tires, how about opening that can of worms Foo? Currently I’m looking at Metzler Cruisetec and Michelin Scorchers which are claimed to be used by HD from the factory now. My factory Dunlops made it 16k and performed adequately but I’m looking for a smoother ride and better handling if I can get it. Those would be my primary considerations for new tires with longevity being secondary.
Kinda like the "CVO" is just a fancy pretty sticker without the performance enhancement. I got the 2022 Ultra- Limited- Apex instead of the "CVO", saved 10 grand and can remove the tour pack for basically the same look, motor, options. For the cost of installing a stage 4/5, you can buy a used rocket 3 and have 2 bikes, or a fishing boat. Stage 4 = $3850/kit or $8k for a crate motor then you have to add labor- my closest shop is $185/hr.
I went down this rabbit hole earlier thinking about changing out the plastic lifter collars. I'm still trying to rationalize it to my self to spend $2000 to replace a dollar two ninteyeight part.
Couldn't agree more. and yes, who hasn't gone at least some of the SE route when we didn't know any better? :-) If you want good power per dollar, aftermarket is the only way to go now, Evo to M8. From what I have read, even the new FP4 has been defanged.
I have two Stage IV 117 engines. One uses the HP cam (2018 Breakout). The other uses the Torque cam (2019 Street Glide Special). I love them both and feel like I got my money's worth. I also got in on a program that was offered called Warranty Forever. So, I have a lifetime warranty on both bikes as long as I keep them strictly Harley/Screaming Eagle. Although I could get more power from the aftermarket, I love my lifetime warranties! I also just bought a 2023 Breakout with a 122 Stage III. The thing runs like a raped ape! One of my Club Brothers called it "Stupid Fast" To each their own... I have no complaints about Screaming Eagle. Until someone beats my Breakout in a drag race... I'm currently King of the Hill 🤣😂🤣😂
I have never bought a new Harley Davidson, and never will. I have never bought any H-D "performance parts". I have never expected "performance" from a Harley Davidson. I own and ride them because of their look, sound, feel, and in most cases, comfort. I have done 2 Iron Butt Saddlesore 1000s and one Buttburner 1500 on Harley Davidson motorcycles (all three on carbureted EVO powered bikes) I have NEVER found myself wanting more power from a Harley Davidson, and I have owned five of them, currently own two. They do exactly what I want them to do. Exactly NONE of the new ones do that.
I've always been an aftermarket guy. I bought an SC air cleaner for a Sporty 25 years ago. I can't remember anything else. I've always liked the aftermarket stuff better, and it usually seems to be a better value. Also, I have that affliction where I don't want to give Harley any more money than I have to.
If Harley-Davidson was to put the “High Performance” parts in a New model, the cost would be higher. And some just want the “Stock” Performance Level, without the higher cost for the higher power. I, personally just wanted the “Stage One” upgrade when I bought my 2021 Road Glide Standard. And yes, I used only the Harley-Davidson Electronic Ignition to keep Warranty Legal. But Dealer used aftermarket mufflers. And I upgraded the Intake. All keeping my Warranty good. I might upgrade to bigger displacement when ESP expires? 🤔
@@GixxerFoothe wheel bearing on the lifter decided it didn't wanna hang in there any longer so when it went out it wiped out the cam lobe. I got lucky I yanked it apart before it was catastrophic. It wasn't long HD switched to the "dash B" lifters which are significantly better and can easily go 50k miles.
About 15 years ago, a dealer in Kansas said to get a key made for my 07 sportster, I had to bring in the PAPER TITLE and then send the key back to the factory! They said "Harley is a premium brand; we've got to make sure you're not stealing someone's bike.". No kidding - bring in the title on a $9kk bike just for a duplicate key! Meanwhile, my $25k Mazda can have a duplicate chipped key fob done up in an hour or so while I wait. I no longer own that sportster.
My advice is just wait your warranty out or just say screw the warranty, that’s what I did. Don’t spend that kind of money to upgrade and just put HD stuff back in there.
I want to do a stage 2 on my 21 low rider s, and the only trustworthy shops around here are the two Harley dealers, as far as I know? The shop my buddies use just keeps trying to sell me on the S&S 475 cam and kit, but I don't really want anything that aggressive. They just keep telling me how much power they can get from that cam! I want more power, but I don't want a wild beast of a motorcycle. This is my only bike. I do 80% city riding. A bike that wants to tear the road apart with every twist of the throttle is no Bueno for me! I just want more power and to upgrade some of the crap parts Harley uses in the stock M8 engines. The lifters and that plastic throttle body and such. I'm not trying to race anyone.
Never used SE parts, to me they are a waste of money. I have some friends who are die hard fans of SE accessories, but I just can't see spending the money for no more power than SE produces. If I'm wanting power I would just go full blown aftermarket upgrades so I can see where my money is. I have a Power Vision tuner and I can get my engine happy by fattening up the fuel/air ratio a little bit. I'm in for the touring and longevity of the engine, my bike is a bone stock 2013 Road Glide 103 with tour pack. I believe I have enough power for now. Excellent video on the subject.
07. Warranty been done. I'm ready to cam it! I fell for that screaming eagle stuff. I was new & gullible. Trying to keep up with the jones. 🖕🏿that! I'm trying to make go!
A bike built with SE parts will make some power, but it's going to cost more and at the end of the day the aftermarket wins out with more power and lower cost.
I put a SE Stage 2 power cam in my 2018 Fat Boy when I bought it new. It makes 112 hp and 121 torque, I know I can get a better cam now-a-days, but it's just right for my type of riding.
Find yourself a good engine builder and get it done right Harley Davidson has a license to steal give it some fuel and let it breath 04 twin cam 88 75,000 miles 95 cubic inch motor Power vision tuner S&S cams , S&S gear to gear S&S heads Original jugs bored out and matched up with pistons Thunderheader exhaust Great Video
I have Screaming Eagle Air Filter and Slip ons , the Exhaust was on the bike when I bought it and with the discount I got from the dealer I use , I bought the Air filter kit . I have a DynoJet PV 4 tuner on it as well. I am in the same boat , I remember when Screaming Eagle meant something .
What Screaming Eagle parts have I used? The 131" stage IV crate motor rocks. The cams, exhaust, etc. parts I've installed on my other bikes only marginally improved performance. I guess the old saying is true: There's no replacement for displacement
There's no question you can go faster using aftermarket parts vs screaming chicken parts & Harley dealers who give warrentied on performance work are stupid . As an aftermarket shop owner I have built a bunch of hotrod Harley's & because you can never be sure how the owner is gonna ride it my warranty only last to the center of the road !
I have never bought anything Screaming Eagle. I never have graded the motor. I just bought a new Harley. 2008 Softail Custom, 2016 SGS, 2022 SGS, and lastly 2024 Fatboy (my last motorcycle for me).
Nobody wants to talk about the fact that a majority of aftermarket race parts are technically illegal by EPA standards. The feds can show up and fine both the shop and manufacturer if they want. Harley not only got hit but others as well. Pretty sure Dynojet got slapped as well.
My problem with HD dealers is the little things like 50-dollar t-shirts. The other day I changed the passenger pegs on my soft tail and launched that little BB to god knows where and went to the hardware store to get one. They didn't have one so I went to the dealer to see if they had one. They did. In a two-pack (the ball bearing only not the spring) and it was 5 dollars. Come on man they could have charged me 1 dollar and made money.
I have an SE cam plate, oil pump combo. Also an SE 50mm throttle body. On a 107 twin cam. The throttle body was discontinued and I got it cheap. It seems like good quality. However everything else is from Fuel Moto.
Well in 2009 when I bought a new bike FLH. Yeah I thought I had to have the stage one which was just that was for like $125. Which I guess is just bumping up the RPMs the rev limiter and giving it a little more fuel across the board. I might as well just kept that $125
Own a stock 05 TC88, and a 12 CVO Electraglide. The 12 is a bit of a monster compared to 05 stock. I went aftermarket performance on a M8, went Woods, wouldn't do S. Eagle of went aftermarket.
One more thing. My bike is just hitting 10 years old so I test rode that M8. No thankyou. Doesnt fell like or sound like a Harley. Maybe it makes more power and starts feeling like a Harley after you drop another 5-10 grand into it but I'm still happy with my TC.
There's another side. We get used to 100ft lbs+ but for someone who gets onto 130ft lbs from something with 150hp and gives it a handful because everyone knows Harley's are slow. I have 1999 FXDL so getting used to obsolete parts. Do my own work. Had SE slash cuts on my Evo, definitely not as loud as V&H quiet.
Yes, it cost a lot of money to do anything to those Harley motors. I mean in a shop. Most people also pick the wrong products and I have the wrong combos of parts together also.
I was gonna do an SE 131 stage 4 kit to keep my warranty but then I used better judgement and went with a stage 2 with mostly s&s parts that’ll make almost the same power for about the same price. And will hopefully produce less heat. The only SE parts I got were the oil pump/cam plate, manifold and 5.5 injectors
Another scam: HOG. BTW, All the power in the world is only worthwhile if you are racing. Screaming Eagle had more clout during the EVO era before the EPA compliance. "For racing purposes only". RIP HD Inc 1903-1999. F Jochen.
It’s probably because of my age , but I purchased my 2020 FLDE 3 years ago to cruise and I’m fine with the 107 just the way it is. 70 is is right around the corner for me so I will leave my bike just the way it is.
