This video is about how to setup a darkroom for screen printing. I will talk about the emulsion, the ideal temperatue a darkroom requires, exposure unit, diptank and screen rack.
I did printing at college over 20yr ago and for some reason, couldn’t remember what i’d learned for years. Suddenly key words, supplies and techniques are all coming back to me and I’m ready to dabble again. I really needed to see this to think about my set up. Thankyou so much for posting this ❤️
I’ve been looking at getting into the screen printing business and I’ve learned so much from watching your videos. Thanks so much for the screen printing lessons but also big thanks for the life lessons you give. Ive watched ALL your videos in about 3 days lol. Keep the videos coming hermano 👍
Getting a new job done, I recently moved had to flip the script. I need a place to just keep a few screens dark and let them dry fast. Online racks seems pointless if I can make something. For now Ill do my research
Nice Video ! Thx for sharing. One question : What température do you store your emulsion? Because when I put it in a fridge (10 Degré Celsius). I think it's to cold and I have bad results.
For your washout booth does it need to be in a light sensitive area too? in my shop I am going to have to go to the bathroom to washout my screens it will be in another room in my shop so that's why I ask
This is so dope! I have been watching your videos this whole past week haha thanks for uploading! If you mind me asking, where did you get the templates for the screens on 5:18
@Taino Can anybody you help me....im trying to do a small logo over the heart on the shirt.....i used a 110 and a 156 mesh and it wont pick up the tiny letters.....What am i doin wrong? Im putting weights over the screen when i burn it...do i need a bigger mesh screen?
If the 156 mesh ain't working, I will try the 230 mesh screen. There I believe you would not have no problem. Give it a try and keep me posted. Oh. Make sure you are exposing it well. If you over expose it it will not wash off.
@@FIGHT101TV when you say not picking up? If the screen detail is clogged, and you have indicated you are using glass over positive/screen, not preferred because it's not vacuum draw, but anyway, are you using white or dyed mesh, for detail you need dyed, like yellow mesh.
@@myoung48281 i bought a 220 mesh screen an its working perfect! An yeah i gotta yudu machine to burn my screens. But its small i gotta sell it and make my own exposure unit out of lamps and a glass box yup!
It is high time we come back to screen printing because the prices of commercial digital printers are really scaring. The youth are really scared in Ghana to learn this printing trade because of the cost involved .
