It was a rainy morning and I ran out of neck labels. So I decided to make myself comfortable inside and print new ones. Feel free to AMA.

Thanks man. The first batch a, couple of years ago, was a complete failure. So frustrating, but in the end all it took was a little practice :)

Hey man, thanks for the video! What advice do you give for gelling the ink? My ink seems more elastic than yours, and while it does come off cleanly while peeling. I can't pull it, I have to scrape it bit by bit. What do you advice in this situation? Also do you think it is possible gelling the ink with heat press instead of a heat gun?

Sounds like the ink might have gotten a littel too hot. I recommend doing a test sheet and heat it up shorter/longer in different areas and see how where the results are to your needs. I have tried gelling with a press and while it is possible, I had the problem that the paper lifted in some areas and came in contact with the hot plate. That's why I use the heat gun, but in general, yeah, it's possible. Just use a infrared thermometer and keep an eye on the temperature. Your results might even be better than by using a heatgun. Cheers

Is it glue power is a required item? only plastisol ink doesn't works?
@zeroxweb
@zeroxweb 3 года назад
Yes, the powder is required. Otherwise the plastisol will come off after the first wash or might not even stick in the first place.

Nice informative video. That transfer paper you used in the video, Is that parchment paper? If not, what is it called?
@zeroxweb

cGee thank you :) it is called transfer paper, nothing special. Sometimes it’s also called silicone-paper. It looks and feels like baking paper/parchment paper. Slightly glossy and somewhat „waxed“. Maybe you could try using this. I can imagine it being a nice, low cost alternative.

Is plastisol glue the same as the one used in DTF printing.
@zeroxweb
@zeroxweb 2 года назад
It does sound as if it’s pretty much the same stuff - but I have zero experience with DTF so no guarantee ;)

what if you dont use the glue powder?
@zeroxweb
@zeroxweb Год назад
Well, the powder, when it's molten, builds a barrier over the print so that a) the ink does not completely dry and b) it makes it possible to store the sheets while not smudging the print.

Hmm what do you mean by "half the parts"? If you ordered yours at @siebdruckversand, did you order the HDT4000 or the HDT4200?
