Hey guys!
Thanks for checking on my video!
Just want to say I am in know way a professional, I have only been screen printing for about 8 months now.
I messed with this puff additive from total ink solutions for about 2 days.
I used a 156 mesh because that is what I have available to e at the moment.
In this video I tested out how much additive you need to get a puff effect.
My ratio ended up being 1:1 to get the smallest puff going. I spent lots of time and had many people reaching out helping me figure this out.
If you made it through the video you will see I did end up getting some puff but nothing to crazy.
Let me know all you tips and tricks for using puff.

Print the puff straight ouita the can. Then over print your color. Cant remember where I saw this on youtube. Seemed to work really well.

Hey great videos! I run puff prints frequently. What I have learned is a dryer is best but the flash does work. And you should use a lower mesh screen. I often use 110 for the very best. I have used 156. But my 110s always have worked great. Are use the same brand of additive, it must reach 330 so you definitely have to put it on Garmin second handle it. And I only use maybe 10% for regular puff and 15% to make it really puffy. If you haven’t got assistance yet and you need some help just DM me I’m willing to help. Cheers

It seems like all of the videos with "ehhh" reviews use the total ink solutions product. Im tempted to go another route and go with texsource or something else. Even the amazon ecotext brand has a product. I normally steer clear of this line but they only charge 50 for a quart. Can you confirm the total ink solutions is a good product? I prefer to buy from there since they are really local to me but ive just seen a ton of issues with it on here.

@@josephmoser8564 I have also not had a good experience with it. This was my first time using it. I'm going to try it again on a lower mesh count. I might make another video.

@@LoyalToThePress yea. I would imagine 110 and lower is the way to go. Also, I’m thinking maybe the way to go is to do blocky prints. Like fat block letters instead of thin line prints. Idk. Maybe I will go with the product from texsource instead of total ink. It’s too expensive to not work wel

@@josephmoser8564 Oh yea for sure! I did some researched before I printed and lots of people said it worked with a 156. I just recently got 110 screens so I'm excited to see if it works this time. They also sent me more puff because they said it most definitely should work but to use a 110. So maybe that specific brand you can only use 110 and under. I think it should still puff with the thin lines.

Use the same opener to open my containers. So much easier.

110 mesh and between 30% to 50% to get a good puff, and you need a low ink for puff cz puff start to rise around 230 and it will cure around 270. It deflate when its get too hot.

Hi hows it going? I’m currently in love with puff print and am wanting to try it myself with custom designs, what type of paint do you use alongside the additive?

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you so much for this tutorial. Do you have any advice for doing this technique on stretch fabric (such as a stretch sweatshirt knit) or is the technique the same?

I suspect if the first couple of prints were dry And you hit it with a heat press for a few seconds and medium pressure it would do well

When I was in the Philippines are use some puffing ink for T-shirts water-based if you mixed it with color it would turn pastel after letting it dry we would hit it with a iron covered with some Paper it would pop up very well but I think the puff material was already mixed with white ink but we were able to do a lot of swirls and stripes different mixtures

I like it. I would prefer it not so puffy. Like the first few tries. But I'm in South Florida... Thick Plastisol prints get hot! How much puff were you looking for? Love the channel btw!

Hey, glad you enjoy it! I think I was just expecting 3 time the size it actually was. I do think I would prefer the smaller puff but I wanted to see how big I could get it to puff.

You really need a conveyor dryer to pull off a good puff. I saw a guy doing puff and he ran his dryer at a lower temperature and for double the time.
