My brother had one of these and it always amazed me. But, he was using three to four screens with each color for each design. Amazing. I’ll bet the Clack will be two and three color printing before long.

I spent a fair amount of time in an electronics shop where we built prototype front panels for equipment. We used epoxy based ink and heated drying for the labels on the switches and so forth on anodized aluminum. It took us a while to get the moves down. But once we did, we were able to produce impressive equipment. I’m sure, Brandy, that once you get a bit more experience, you will get faster and get great results. 👍

Just a recommendation. Look at whats called flooding the screen which is a common practice in screen printing. That is spreading the ink across the plate with the ink before dropping the screen onto the item. Then drop it to the item and swipe again. This will allow you to see that the design has an even amout across the whole design before applying it to your item.

I used to work for a commercial screenprinter in the late 90s. It was a smallish shop, with 8 to 16 employees, but we did everything from small, single color jobs of 10 pieces for local customers, to 4-color process plus 2 spot colors on literally over a hundred fifty thousand shirts for AT&T (2 shifts, all summer long). I don't know the mesh that you are using, but (maybe obviously, maybe not) finer mesh gives finer details. Also, once a screen is stretched, you really do not want to remove it from its frame. Just because the emulsion is already burnt, doesn't mean the image is going to hold its shape if you remove the mesh from the frame, and if the mesh becomes "unstretched", you will absolutely lose detail and will warp the image. That being said I always look forward to your videos!

Screenprinter/artist for 45 years. Lines need to be a certain thickness, depending on substrate, screen mesh ,etc. On t-shirts, black ink 180 mesh. Line thickness, 1 point. These are variables like lasers, power/speed. Also, ink, waterbed, will dry in screen and close in edges.Feel free to ask for more info if needed. Also, over exposure will close in edges.

Many years ago. I did paint on metal. And paper. We allways add more paint on screen. And pull the paint threw with the screen up a inch. Then let the screen down and pull. We did production. Keep images away from the side. If possibly get in the middle. Shirt board moveable side to side to get set up. You may need a shirt screen printing set up. If going todo more then 1 color.

as a teenager I worked in a screen printing mill, it may be the ink or the size of the designs but those girls swiped the squeege one time and then the shirt was sent through a convayor that took it though a big oven that heat set and dried the designs. With the air dry ink you may have to worry about fading in the wash

I have several questions. 1. What is the mesh 38, 100, 220? Do you select that in xcs or is the screen premade? 2. Is it like other screen print screens where you can wash off the emulsion, clean the screen, apply new emulsion and use it again? Or is it one and done for that screen? 3. If they are only able to be burned one time, can you clean the ink off remove it from the frame and save it to reuse in the future? And how do you safely store them? 4. Will the replacement screens be cost effective to buy? So many questions. Lol. Maybe a good follow up video?
@TheClackShack
@TheClackShack 6 месяцев назад
The settings in XCS say it is 100. I think they typically would be replaced by purchasing more. The kit was made for those of us with no idea how to do all the emulsion...lol. Yes, they can be cleaned and reused, they come with a "storage box". As far as cost that is a matter of how much they will be charging for new screens. I wouldn't think the cost would be too high.

installing this thing is the European version with a riser is messed up. there is no manual on how to mount the bracket. if I mount it based on the template in xtool design suite. the screen frame does not fit in my machine, using the two screw holes next to it feels wanky. and the screen is more than a cm above my honey comb. in Europe we cannot open the riser bay, en use the conveyer system. it's so messed up.
