Thanks for sharing your double accomplishment: not only in creating yet another entertaining and informative video but also in beating the game, often while holding a camera in one hand or else having it perched right in the middle of your view! 😁 You know, I shouldnʼt be surprised if your own fandom effort in honoring the first Screwball Scramble proved an inspiration to Tomy in creating these sequels… Good job, looking forward to tomorrowʼs episode! 🤩💻
Interesting that you highlight the corkscrew as being a tricky one. On the first copy of this game that I bought, the ratchet inside the twisty bit was so strong that it was pretty much impossible to complete that part, as the 'clickiness' of the ratchet would cause such vibrations along the screw that the ball would come off every single time. It was pretty heartbreaking given I was really looking forward to playing this! So I opened it up and filed down the ratchet just a fraction (possibly a bit too much!), making it super smooth and massively improving the experience. However, I ended up getting another copy of the game and on that one the ratchet was much less fierce, so the screw will happily rotate in a nice clicky way without the vibrations - which you can't help - destabilising the ball to such an extent as it comes off. Looks like you have a fierce one! I'd be interested in whether you can use the adapter to put your original version first and #2 second - I have a mid 80s copy and the adapter doesn't quite work going from that to this new one, though I'm pretty sure it's advertised as being able to go from the present version of the original to this one. From a timing perspective, the half pipe after the stairs is really quite annoying and the dish at the end that can send you backwards is rather frustrating as it seems more chance than skill! I used to be able to beat the original Screwball Scramble in about 10 seconds at my peak (!) but absolutely no chance on this one...
I love/hate the cone. It looks so cool but the 50/50 luck chance is kinda cheap. Cant wait for you to do the level 3 upwards one! I find that the quality has gone downhill but it’s fun enough I suppose
