Come with me as I venture into my attic to find cool and interesting things to show you! Board games, toys, video games, collectables, comics, what will I bring down from the attic this time?
@@jayvalentine2046 it really makes you work for the win. We last played it about 2 weeks ago, and it was down to quite literally the very last dice roll if we won or lost… we won!
It was hard finding a complete game of this on line I know this video is 7 years old and things change after all said and done I paid almost $90 for it I've been wanting it for a while , and every site selling game is from UK was wondering if this was only released there , fantastic video btw
@@jayvalentine2046 I had no idea it’d crept up in value as much as that! It’s scary how expensive some of these games are getting. There’s games like voice of the mummy and seance that are just far too expensive for me to justify spending money on. Years ago it was possible to find bargains on both. In any case, I hope you enjoy your game when it arrives :)
I loved Omega Virus as a kid. It was one of those games that you knew wasn’t just another version of Monopoly. If you have it, maybe in October, you could take a look at Atmosfear: the Harbingers. I think it was called Nightmare in Europe.
It really is the 100th episode, for there were two numbered 26 (Fireball Island: The Curse of Vul‐Kar in #26 part I, expansions in #26 part II). If you find that confusing, you should check out Marvel Comicsʼ numbering schemes sometime… 🕷 I do care about the nuking…Iʼm sure Luke put a lot of time, effort, and soul into that doomed episode…
I had this as a kid, but over here it was called "Weapons & Warriors". The pieces were all the same, but the castle plastic was a darker shade of grey and the soldier figures were red and blue for the different armies. It had a really dramatic commercial too.
Great review Luke. I was looking at my copy the other week and noticed that I’d left batteries in from last time I played it, and they’d corroded! 😬 Got to properly test it with new batteries, but HOPEFULLY it wasn’t too bad. 🤞
Why, yes, it _is_ one of those episodes…like IV through VI!! 😁🌌 Congratulations on a *stellar* 100th! That trip down memory lane at the start was awesome - fitting for a vintage‐focused channel that you have your own vintage eras to savor. Solid overview of Omega Virus, as expected - and you really plussed it (as Walt Disney would say) with the immersive experience…I feel like Iʼve just been back to Disneyland! 👍
Congratulations on 100 episodes and getting well and finding a job doing what you love, nicely done 🤩 This game looks fantastic! I'll keep and eye out for it on eBay and see if I can land a copy for a decent price.
I love the theme of this board game and the personality of the virus, I want to get my hands on this game one day! Also this is probably one of the best Board game review videos I've ever seen, great job! 👏🏾
@@randomguy9898 this is what I want for omega virus too, no app. There’s something so tactile about having the button unit in the middle, it makes itself the 5th player in the game. I think that’d be lost with just dropping an iPhone or iPad in the middle of the board
CONGRATULATIONS on 100 episodes..! 100 INCREDIBLY awesome and entertaining episodes..! I have seen them all, and loved them all..! I cannot WAIT for your next episode to come..!
You hit 100! Congrats on everything, it's been an utter pleasure to watch this series through from start to finish, and in total seriousness, you've gotten me playing and discovering more games now than I ever have in the past. You also weren't kidding when you said you had a big one... You picked an utter belter for it. A pleasure to hear so much more about a game I've heard so much about but not thought to look into. I'm sure if Restoration do try and tackle Omega Virus, it'll be something special given their knack for reinventing stuff for modern gamers but maintaining the spirit. Roll on the dumpster fire of 101... ;)
@@jonathandixon2896 I’m remaining cautiously optimistic. Omega virus is such a simple game at its heart, it’s pretty easy to teach and get a game underway. Whilst I LOVE return to dark tower it is a complicated game and it’s deterred some friends from playing it with me, they take one look at all the tokens, cards, and it’s overwhelming for them. I hope that Restoration don’t “over-egg the omelette” so to speak, it needs to be a simple and fun as the original but with some additional modes and functions. Would be fun if the virus could assume control of the probes and have them attack players or something similar? There’s scope with omega virus to grow it
Congrats the 100th episode. A superb video for the episode with an amazing game. I’ve never heard of this game until now. I’m gonna have to save up to purchase a copy, it’s worth every penny, as expensive as it gonna be. This is the best electronic game I’ve come across since Dark Tower. Keep up the amazing work 👍🏻
Little known fact: there is an emulator to replace the central unit, called OVEMU, that runs on a computer. While it isn't as grandiose as the central unit, it makes the tabletop simulator version of this game functional. Also, congrats on your 100th episode, I'm glad you finally covered this one.
Great solo game, really boring multiplayer. Played it 4 player, and it basically turned to everyone sitting playing on their phone, while the active player is clicking around on the ipad. We tried at first sharing what was going on, but that become very unengaging. If you play Multiplayer, you MUST be casting the app to the big screen where everyone can see it. Everyone was glad when we suddenly lost, when 8 skulls all came out on one side of the board.
@@downfromtheattic I work in the toy industry today (look up "Luke's Toy Factory"), and one of the things I set out to do when designing the toys I make was to ensure that children playing with my toy trucks have the complete opposite experience (one of "Active Play")
Looks good, but my favourite was always Waddingtons Table Soccer, little plastic men with a flat base, and the "ball" was a tiddlywink, I got really good at this as I practiced for hours and hours when I was 9 years old, I still have a few sets of it that I bought over the years and have just introduced it recently to my grandson, he likes it but prefers the fussball type soccer games.
Welcome back! Some nice games there - Little Green Men is fun. Would really like to get hold of Knightmare myself - I used to love watching it on TV after school. I hope you're gonna get yourself in the show via some green-screen wizadry!
Amid condolences and commiserations Iʼm glad to see you feeling yourself again and rearing to go! Now just be mindful of sunburn… 👱♂🔥 Looking forward to the reviews. Happy youʼre joining the Little Green Men club (there must be more copies that have landed on this side of the Atlantic than are buzzing about its h̶o̶m̶e̶w̶o̶r̶l̶d̶…er, homeland) - you canʼt go far wrong with a board game whose box proclaims “giant spaceship included”! 🛸 That Dark Sector box is indeed gorgeous - canʼt wait to hear more about the gameplay. Really, all of it is intriguing, and of course I expect some surprises along the way…! Take care, Luke! Onward to 💯❗
Thrilled to hear you're climbing your way back from everything, it can't have been a great time. Brilliant that you enjoyed the expo, and definitely some exciting stuff ahead. I'm especially interested in hearing what this game 101 is... Part of me hopes it's Crystal Maze. Having played it properly for the first time not long ago, that game is absolutely one for the masochists.
Hahaha is it wrong that I enjoy Crystal Maze for what it is? It's similar to the Euro Disney game, small puzzles and challenges to get to the main goal. I don't mind it, but not one I reach for often. No, 101 is far far worse than that ;)
