Get close to God to the extent He talks to you. Don't depend on anybody to define to you how you relate to Him. These men of God are also "work of God in progress." They don't know everything about God. Personal revelations from God to you are meant for you, and they remain with you forever.
You all are missing the emphasis of the message. The emphasis is that you don’t receive from God because you recite the “word of God” in prayer, you receive when you believe and then speak what the Word of God has said about you in prayer. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. When we continually recite the word of God in prayers, it slowly forms a consciousness in our hearts, which then strengthens our faith in order to receive what we ask of (which God has already provided even before we pray). So at the end of the day (which is Dr. Damian’s point), the Word of God recited in prayers is not for God, but for you, and it is useless if you don’t believe it. Most times, Dr. Damina doesn’t address the other sides to these things and that’s why people are quick to cherrypick and tag his messages as “heresy”. I pray God helps our understanding.
Please keep up using Scriptures while praying, there is Power in it God never asked us to command Him (from your statement), how is it for a mere vessel that we are to command our Maker (the Potter) is that possible? Faith is truly essential and God is the answerer of prayer. That he stopped from his work does not mean we will not ask him stuff as our heavenly father just like that because people have been saved from the beginning of the world does not stopped preaching. To me, within godly constraints, your method of prayer is not as important as your receiving. The guy that cried and received is better that the one that spoke confidently and received not. How can revival prayers be made without travailing? Travailing is usually with much repetition. Sometimes, it takes months or years of travailing to take over a land. For instance, the Azusa street revival, the brethren under the leadership of Williams Seymour prayed for nothing less than six (6) months. Also, the revival in Wales, brethren under the leadership of Evans Roberts prayed for two (2) years before the revival eventually broke out.

We need to understand what authority we have in Jesus which is based on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Now we stand in that Authority, ie which is the name of Jesus! In prayer we are not just telling God about our situation, we are also educating the angels of God who minister to us. In prayer we also use the word of God to command demons and to bring low every high thing that exalts itself above the knowledge of God. In prayer we bring into captivity every thought into the obedience of Christ. So Yes we use the word of God in prayer and not just to come up with our owns words always. The word says if you abide in me and my words abide in you, then you shall ask whatsoever thing you desire and it shall be done unto you. He tells us also, let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. The question is how can the word of God dwell in you so much and not declare same words in prayer? Because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Prayer is literally standing on His word and saying the same thing God has said in His word-, and that is faith- Your faith begins where the will of God has been fully expressed.
