This is a 20 segment bowl. Actually there are 40 segments with two layers of 20 segment but Carole Rothman titled it a 20 segment bowl in her book. Other than cutting and gluing 40 total segments it is a simple bowl with one angle cut throughout and straight sides fairly easy to match up and sand. She used purple heart and yellow heart. I used bubinga and ash to get a good contrast as I had no really exotic woods in the thickness required. I am pleased with the outcome.

Nice job of keeping the segments of different woods organized. Your final pattern of contrasting wood looks great!

I'd be curious to know more about how you make these videos (what you use to position the camera, what editing software you use, etc. I'd like to make some videos of my own for my woodworking club here in San Diego.

I knew nothing about videography when I started out. Just used and old camcorder a years ago when my daughter was small. Check out Think Media on RU-vid they led me to a lot of my equipment. I have this stand amzn.to/3Vd3hPs it is a little light but I stand it next to my work bench to steady it, I angle it to the bench to make the bench shots and stand to the right of it. I really like the ring light on it. It will mount a cell phone or a camera. I use my Samsung phone to film. I have this phone holder on another tripod at my saw amzn.to/4avZYHj I have an old tripod that I bought my wife years ago clamped with woodworking clamps on a mount over my saw, everything is adjustable to move from one side of the saw to another. It gets crowded with two lights and a camera around me. I am thinking of getting this tripod amzn.to/4auu0LG Maybe those links can give you an idea of what I am using and checkout Think Media and also VidIQ, there are several channels that can give you good information on equipment and how to. I use VSDC editor, it is free and has a paid version, I am using the paid version but that is not needed to make a good video. There are several tutorials on RU-vid for it and VSDC has it own tutorial channel to show you how to use it. I hope that helps a little, I am a one man band, plan the videos, film the videos and edit the videos and started with zero experience. I have a few acres with lots of grass to mow, trees to trim, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, dogs and cats. I am retired but work harder than ever. My RU-vid channel almost becomes an afterthought some times of the year. But I love doing it for some reason.
