Wooden jewellery making is great fun and a relatively straightforward process to learn. We share seven different badge and brooch designs.

Any recommendations when determining the thickness of broach? Or any thoughts about thickness may be the better question.
@DailovespoonsThomas
@DailovespoonsThomas Год назад
I usually make them a little thinner than many of the things I make. Stack at least three layers when cutting. Trying to think about the practice use of them. If they are too bulky and thick they will be less comfortable to wear. Being honest the cat brooch with the backing is a bit thick but we live and we learn and in future I will make it a little thinner. Thanks as always for your support, all the very best from us all. 👍👍

Very, very nice Dai! When you say "rub it down between coats" are you lightly sanding? If you are then what grit of sandpaper ? Take care!

Hi Michael, great to hear from you as always. When I say rub down I would be using a P260 or even finer. All I am aiming to do is take the roughness out as opposed to completely removing the shellac. It's just taking that edge off that results from the shellac raising the grain in the wood. Thanks again for your support. Hope all is well with you, all the very best from us all. 👍👍

Hi Anders, great to hear from you glad you like the demonstration. The black stuff is black Starbond CA Glue. You can find a link in the description of many of our videos and you can get a 10% discount if you enter the word 'lovespoons' at the checkout using the link. I use the black CA Glue with the accelerant to get it to set quickly. Thanks for supporting our RU-vid channel. All the very best from us all. 👍👍
