I always liked interpreting this as a clever sentence. Meaning that He loves Elliot more than Turk loves Elliot. Not that he loves Elliot *more* than Turk.
The chemistry of the actors is unparalleled. It made Scrubs so good. Little gems like this was a summary of the series. RIP Sam, you made this scene better than it would have been, and it would have been great.
When Christa Miller gets thrown in the pool, just seems like such a hearty laugh. Feels like Bill Lawrence had the cast in mind for this episode and gave them a vacation on the production studio’s dime.
eastwing329 absolutely true. Remember watching this scene as a kid and it gave me so much chills back then, just by the music. Now being 21 yo it amazes me even more. Sam and The Blanks brought such great things to the show ❤️
The show for me was mostly an occasional treat but it was Ted singing the theme song for Underdog that prompted me to make watching it a priority Miss you much Sam
+TheBaconPig You're mad dude, that's the greatest declaration he could ever make, he already love Turk more than anything, so imagine, someone he love even MORE THAN TURK?
It's available on Hulu, and just a few weeks ago Zach Braff and Donald Faison started rewatching the show for the first time since it went off air, and they're doing a podcast to talk about it. Check out Fake Doctors, Real Friends. It is EXACTLY what we all need right now.
Thank you for Theodore Buckland: he made me laugh, he made me cry, he taught me some very valuable life lessons. Thank you Sam Lloyd. Rest in Peace, my friend
The cast of Scrubs is talented beyond words. It's amazing how Sam Lloyd flipped a HipHop song like "Hey Ya" on it's head and the result was arguably an even better version. I just found out today that Sam passed away it hit hard.
Not taking ANYTHING away from him at all, because this is an incredible rendition. But it was kind of a "pop" song and also, Obidiah Parker did this, sad kind of version of it before this had come out. Again like I said no hate, this is beautiful, but I do kind of think the Obidiah Parker, slow sad version might have been inspiration.
@@armpit_farts7327 It definitely was. The parts of the melody that are modified from the original are EXACTLY as they're arranged in OP's version (which I know well, since I recorded a cover of Parker's version myself a few years ago). Gorgeous job by Sam.
Andre 3000 conceived most of his Love Below songs this way, because he played most the instruments. He preformed a few live in acoustic. BUT Ted definitely projected the emotions of the story being told.
Nothing will ever and i mean EVER replace Scrubs. The show can hit all of your self emotions From Sad, Happy, Angry, and Also teaches us along the way. Not the Doctor stuff but how we Feel, See & Treat one another. Best Show Ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marti Mert You should check out Community, even though I watched that first and only just finished watching Scrubs, I would say that Community is really the successor to Scrubs, especially in the TV bromance department... after one season of Community you would know what I mean...
I’m case you didn’t already know, your boi was in a Beatles tribute band as Paul and despite being right handed he taught himself to play guitar left handed for authenticity. WHAT A LEGEND
rest in paradise sam loyd. came here immediately after hearing about his passing, my favorite cover from the show. i send my heart out to his wife and child :(
The interaction with JD and Elliot at the end always meant so much to me. Throughout the series, we see how insecure she is because of how her parents always belittled her and made her feel worthless, and it's so fulfilling to see her end up with someone who readily tells her that he loves her and considers her his dream girl. It's nice to see her validated.
@@russianjew8147Not surprising, one of the big plot points throughout the entire series is JD growing up and maturing as a person. Season 8 JD is a MUCH better person than Season 3 JD.
I sometimes wonder if we will still all meet up here in the comments in 50 years when we're older and in our final phase of our lives, reminiscing about our past and how important shows like these were for us. Nostalgia really is one of the most amazing things a human can feel.
Ich habe mein deutsch allein dürch fernsehen gelernt (lebe in Bosnien) und us fing mit Spongebob an, aber dürch Scrubs lernte ich vieles als teenager, und lerne als erwachsener mann immer noch. Ruhe in frieden Ted.
@@Jakesmith1804 THere's no wrong way to play a guitar. The late great Dick Dale had a lefty guitar that was strung like a righty. Jim had a righty guitar strummed like a lefty. Go figure.
Scrubs will forever have a special place in my heart. I started watching in elementary school, rewatched countless times during high school. Now I started studying psychology and am currently rewatching it again. It feels pretty cool knowing I will be able to help people like in the show one day and that encourages me. Thanks for all these memories
As i grow up (25 atm), i started to see how fragile this life is, and that u really have to be happy to be healthy and get old.. Iam so young and already to much friends of mine died..
The best show ever. it combined everything it has humor comedy but also drama tragedy love and so on there is no other show that could combine those perfectly
Scrubs was an important part of my twenties (and still is in my thirties) ... Ted was one of them. Like we say in my country: "he went on tour". RIP Sam.
Rest in Peace. 😢 It breaks my heart that you can’t see your baby grow up. But I’m sure you are watching from above. 😞 This was actually one of my favourite episodes.
I just binged scrubs for the last few days and I had to look up this cover by Ted... I was today old when I learned of his death and it is just sad. my prayers go out to his family and friends. he has entertained a whole generation and his music is just a blessing. RIP Sam Lloyd. you will be missed.
tss3393 I said the same thing man....no final season of any show came close to this...season 9 doesnt exist to any true Scrubs fan. Everything about the final season is perfect, it closes out perfectly, you see the maturation of JD and Co., not just professionally, but in their private lives too..it was just perfect.
Yes, fu**ing yes. Season 8 is the final season, no matter what. This wedding and the final episode are truly a masterpiece.. There are only a very few things in tv which I think are as amazing as "scrubs" was.
Yeah, this show has it all - loveable characters, no canned laughter, great music, and it's actually funny. But it's not just about the humor, there's always something for the heart, too, and occasionally it's even quite poignant.
I remember me and a friend of mine being into Scrubs in middle school, and the songs especially. 'Overkill' was the first song my friend learned on guitar. I would listen to The Blanks' rendition of Underdog and feel weirdly motivated. Or when I would need to pick-me-up and search for the clip with Kate Micucci. Ted never failed to make me either laugh or smile. Thanks for everything Sam. Sincerely.
This show is the reason I’m in medical school right now and I just hope I can have even half the humanity and kindness this man brought to everything rip man you were a special soul and it seems like we all recognized it ❤️
InTheChilledAisle awesome! I have always wondered about that phenomenon! My buddy’s wife was an intern when show started. The main writer was a physician! Enjoy! Watch out for Gomer fatigue! ER RN
From a guy living in a part of Alabama where my fellow acquaintances have little connect with this show, it warms my heart to see so many heartfelt messages for Sam. Dude was an incredible man on and off screen. Great to see the love. And of course, RIP Sam...you are truly missed not only by those so close to you, but also also by schmucks like me living in Alabama that were always very interested in your story and career.
This show is honestly timeless!! It NEVER gets old. The humour, the growth of the characters, their relationships, their energy, everything. This show is amazing yet still underrated in my opinion!! RIP Ted!!!! Love his rendition of this song!!! 🙏🏾❤️
such a wonderful show, probably had the biggest impact on my life of all the shows i watched. Loved the characters and seeing their development, very relatable and personable, miss these times, miss the 2000s man.
Fucking RIP Sam. This is my favorite version of the song and it bridges so many relationships in this show so perfectly. We're all flawed and we all have to work on our relationships to make them work, even in the most difficult of times. Beautiful sequence and song.
Ted, The Blanks and Scrubs were important to me growing up! I would spend hours listening to their music and fantastic covers! RIP Sam, you will be sorely missed❤️🎵
I watched this video many times. Sometimes i just back to hear Sam's version of Hey ya, shad a tear and have a little positive sadness with remember how much warm emotions i had when watch the Scrubs for the first time. Scrubs is my favourite tv show of all time, I'm sure that I'll show it for my future kids (except 9 season sure, I'm not a monster). And my big thanks for every member of the Scrubs crew, for magic and absolutely warm family feelings which i experienced when watch it. RIP Sam, your brilliant voice made me laugh when i watch tv show and makes me cry now, when i hear the Blanks songs, thank you for such different emotions.
I was listening to this hours before the news hit last night. Something made me play this masterpiece one last time while he was around. R.I.P. Mr. Sam Lloyd, thanks for the feelings.
Wow I didn’t know he died. Terribly sad. An amazing voice and a brilliant t moment in this show. The greatest comedy of all time with true heart thrown in ♥️
Jd: I never really believed i find somebody i love as much as you Elliot: Aah Jd: i love you more than anything in the world Elliot: Aah Jd: I love you more than turk Elliot: Oh my....... best part :D
Sam & Co's cover of Hey Ya just makes me tear up so much. I got engaged a little over a year ago and this was one of the first songs that popped into my head when I thought of songs I wanted during out First Dance, this was the legitimate first thing that came to mind.
This show was so funny but the best thing about it are the emotional moments. I’ve truly changed and grown as a person because of Scrubs. Just found out Ted passed. R.I.P. man.
