When I first watched scrubs, I thought Hooch was just a wacky character. Watching clips of him in a row makes me realize that he went crazy because of constant harassment and bullying. Poor Hooch.
+All Night Cats It really is quite cruel. Consider the things you do to others because it might seem like harmless fun to you but from their perspective (like this video shows) it can be life altering. Course it's still freaking hilarious.
+Dies Irae J.D is one of the meanest in the show, it's just not shown much because he is mean through innocence and childishness, have a look at the frequent torment the janitor gets as well, J.D gives just as much back if not more and even does things like burying a pair of matching shorts that the janitor made for the two of them when the janitor was trying to be friends
No longer being able to handle all the stress and ridiculousness from the Sacred Heart, Hooch decided to move to Boston and became the manager of a five-star hotel
They did something similar with the janitor. The actor that plays him was also in a Harrison Ford movie and JD recognized him in the film. The janitor later admit it was him meaning he is technically playing himself.
@@drpinky504 1) That sec scene was in earlier season, at his home and the list was in season 8; 2) the comment was just stating the trivia from the show, without making any comment.
I love how they systematically destroy hooch's sanity by continually pranking him. I mean look how he doesn't seem upset at all in the first clip, then it goes downhill from there.
idk why im replying to a 13 yr old comment but it doesn't seem all that systematic to me, they just prank him lmao. also how you doing? I was 5 when you wrote this lmfao
@Nebulis it's 100% systematic. He was very chill in the beginning, then they went out of their way to be jerks to him. The shower scene is just ridiculous.
The only thing I kinda miss is the absolutely hilarious throw-away gag where someone mentions "some kind of hostage situation" involving Dr Hooch. Good lord, I LOVE THIS SHOW.
Hooch really IS crazy. 3:32 favorite Hooch moment, EVER! "If it happens again, I will wait in my SUV. Blast me some speed metal, 5.1 surround sound, heavy on the bass. And some one will be getting MOWED DOWN." I love how he says heavy on the bass.
I was hoping somebody commented on this moment because Phil Lewis the man that plays hooch literally killed someone with his car with a drunken accident and spent a year in jail for it. So honestly the fact he's able to read that line and not feel unbelievably horrible about it kind of blows my mind.
I was trippin off that too KOE. Just wild to me. Love the character, but knowing this now sort of spoils it. Nonetheless, glad the guy has turned his life around. We all should have redemption if we chase it. And seems he has.
As an AVID Scrubs fan, who owns and regularly binges on the entire-series DVD collection, it blows me away that I never realized how intrinsic the Hooch-is-crazy bit was over the years. Proof that no matter how many times you watch, you can always find new little nuggets in this show.
The guy playing Turner is actually Tom Hanks brother. He also replaces Tom in alot of recording work for things like toys and audiobooks of Tom Hanks characters.
You realise over the seasons Hooch gets more crazy due to JD and Turk’s pranks. Maybe it’s a subtle character development the producer inserted for the small characters. Brilliant.
"Who else thinks they're faster than me, HUH?!" - XD love that line. I like to imagine that Hooch is actually Mosby under an alias; he went completely mad after all the years of having to Manage the Tipton Hotel and chase after Zack and Cody. So he fled Boston one day, went into the hospital, grabbed some green scrubs and started playing Surgeon.
Gotta love the "And I'm gonna blast me some speed metal, five-point-one surround, heavy on the bass, and someone ... will be gettin' ... mowed down" bit.
I don't care what anybody says, this compilation isn't complete without what happened on the last episode of season 8, hooch standing there in those jackets they put you in at the assain assylum saying "hooch is crazy" in a weird voice. I will never forget it
The bit about mowing someone down isn't as funny though seeing as how his actor Phil Lewis actually did kill someone in a car accident once. He did time in prison for manslaughter.
You know, am I the only one who thinks that JD and Turk were kind of being a jerk to Hooch? I think it's less that he was crazy, but DRIVEN crazy by those two.
"I just stopped by to tell you that we need to hire a new orthopaedic surgeon. Apparently Dr. Hooch was involved in some kind of hostage situation." "Well Hooch is crazy!"
Take a cheap see through lighter pull the metal cap off use the gear to turn up the fluid output and you too can have a large gage lighter like hooch. Ps dont give it to someone for a cig you will ignite the hair
Hooch is legitimately terrifying, but deeply hilarious. I see why J.D and Turk keep hassling him despite him threatening to take one of Turk's fingers. 😂
Omg! I LOVED the Hooch gag in Scrubs. And, I just realized, this second, that Turner is played by Tom Hanks' brother. Tom Hanks was the star of "Turner & Hooch". Nice easter egg!
