I find it funny how people complain they don't work through out the show they state this but the show also showed how they put blocks to prevent there relationship and how they both kept sabotaging it but when the finally stopped and came to realize they were each others match, true love and ultimately each others best friend that they were able work together as a true couple. They came together in the best way.
Pre-season 8, I'd have hated the idea of them dating again. But in season 8, imo they made a very big effort to make it clear that they thought about everything that happened before, met speedbumps, both gave effort to make it work, and emphasized how much they had grown since the last time. Season 8 really put in the effort to show them as an insecure couple that put in work to try to make it work, and that's one of the reasons I love them as a couple.
I disagree day one I knew they were right for each other and that's what frustrated me throughout the series. And now that I'm older I understand why. Neither of them had fully grown up yet. They still had their insecurities and the mind of young adults that just wanted to party and are still figuring things out. JD matures alot because he'd been through alot. Elliot had her own battles for independence and had to sort through the trauma that was her upbringing she also went through alot in her own right. It didn't start out perfect but that's life you make mistakes and you grow.
+jonojjt6 This. This. This. This. You don't have to be a perfect match, when you can't be without someone it is enough. Just have to put in a lot of hard work.. something that sadly doesn't work in most cases tho :(. To add: there will ALWAYS, and I say ALWAYS be people in the world more compatible than your current partner. It will never end because the tingly love fades and will have to make room for real love some day (which is hard work and requires a lot of effort, but it's pure and magical..)
This really reminds me of how my girlfriend and I got to where we are now. We dated people constantly, never staying in lasting ones until we finally decided that her and I were a perfect match. Here we are now, 6 years strong. I know for a fact that she’s the one I want to spend the rest of my life with.
the part of jd imagining the future as he would like it to be it's wonderful XD it shows the real happy end of Scrubs... as it was supposed to be goodbye J.D. love Scrubs forever
Both JD and Elliot needed to grow a lot before they could stay together, which is why they were the best couple of the series. Even when they weren't officially dating, they had a special connection.
Show always reminds me of my my mom and dad. They had a great love story. She was a BSN and she loved the show because it reminded her of when he was a resident. He's a radiologist and never could get into it due to the xray gaffe in the opening credits. She died from COVID-19. He's more of a dad jokes version of Dr. Cox. I don't know if he will ever retire now. She had her Jordan moments. She had a few bad years due to bipolar. I'm glad the last few were happier. I miss her every day.
Really? I think it was natural. They were both afraid of commitment and hurt each other multiple times. People like to completely put the blame on JD, but Elliot was equally at fault for them not working out so many times.
@@iDivinity117 I agree that Elliot was at fault many times as well, but JD spent a entire season trying to get with her and when he finally convinced her to break up with her boyfriend he just decides he doesnt want her any more? Im glad they finally ended up together tho, they were great as a couple in the last season?
It was stupid and frustrating but I think it probably was the best thing for them in the long run. They both needed time to grow and mature before fully committing to each other. If they had stayed together it probably would have been a disaster.
The thing is people do that. You get something and decide you don't want it or shouldn't have it. The show does a good job of showing how fallible people are, yet also shows how amazing people can be in a different context. They are all extremely good at their jobs. It is a good and well maintained contrast.
6+yrs and this scene still makes feel so much everytime i see it.... This show has GREAT example of growth and a lot to relate too, but it never got too series and always carried the fun along.
Jace Naughton Season 8 was perfect! Watched the full series 4 times in a row, i will do another run now that i have left the season for another 2 years. "Season What? >I have absolutely no idea about what season with a 9 in it you could talk about :D . Out of sight, out of mind." Watched all 8 seasons 4 times, season.....9 1 time, it was a pain to watch it but i just had to.
@@bowser9734 really!? Its fairly obvious hahaha they look at kid sam and izzy then it transitions to them engaged and thats why turk and JD are like THANKYOU GOOOD XD
he was also the minister at the janitors wedding, which beings sm more meaning to the line “bring two people together like only the creator can” or something like that
I love their romance, probably my favourite in a sitcom..very messy at times but also feels real. Great chemistry as well, you can really their connection
Season 9? What season 9? No idea what you're talking about. As far as I'm concerned, this is the series finale. This made me cry like a baby. Bittersweet feeling ❤️❤️❤️
Screw that.. BEST TV COMEDY SHOW EVER! Every time I get to "The Book of love", it takes some water from my eye... Why, oh God why coyldn't we have some 55 more seasons?
I'd be more invested in them if JD wasn't such a putz dumping her. I mean come on find a creative way to delay their happy ending then him saying, I don't love you. So dumb.
Roy W Because season 7 was originally going to be the final season so the kiss wouldve happened, then it got picked up for an 8th season before season 7 started filming (it got a late start due to writers strike) so writers had to change their plans and kiss got changed to not happening because they wanted the relationship to happen in the final season
I find it hard to believe that true fans of SCRUBS are completely ignorant to the fact that season 9 was created 100% as a spinoff. It's why it's called "scrubs [med school]". Lawrence always made that clear. From the very start. He even added the new title to the x-ray in the openings. Even the actors made that clear. It was only ABC who insisted on marketing it as season 9 for greedy financial reasons. Point is, there is no real "scrubs season 9". That was a spinoff. Stop crying about it.
I like them as a couple, but I am still confused about what happened in Season 3 when he got together with her, but then dumped her right before Turk's wedding. Still scratching my head, but I am so glad they got together in the end.
So glad that someone said this. Of all the times that JD/Elliot were together that was the one black spot to me. I never agreed that they weren't a "good couple". They were a _real_ couple, best friends and soulmates. But that moment at the wedding was SOOOOO dumb. But it had nothing to do with them as a couple, it was just bad writing.
@@jazsyali1606 At the time Bill Lawrence (the writer/creator) was set against them ending up together and the plan was for something so bad to happen that theyd never be together after that and even the fans would agree. But..... the fans didnt agree and Lawrence finally changed his mind in later seasons
@@richoberst9392 Well, at the very least thank you for clearing up the reasoning behind it for me. However, that said, I still find that to have been _incredibly_ foolish and poor writing. We literally spent an entire season, episode after episode-month after month in real time-watching JD pine after Elliot talking about how he loved her. All of that for him to come to the realization in ONE episode, that he only wants what he can't have?! Crazy as it may sound, if he needed something horrible to happen, I would have rather JD cheated on her. That story-line was still INCREDIBLY nonsensical to me...Either way, please note, that I appreciate your response and my response and tone is purely in reference to what I felt/feel was poor writing on the show. Just curious, how did you find that out?
@@jazsyali1606 There were a couple of interviews with Bill Lawrence and the cast where he talked about it. I think there was even a video interview on one of the dvds but im not totally sure on that one. I also happen to agree it was a nonsensical way to go about it. It seemed like it was a plot device that came about only just as it was happening as that side of JD didn't really exist up to that point.
For anyone asking about Kim drinking wine while pregnant: she’s allowed to drink just a little amount per day and she was saving it for when JD would have come home. (Result of quarantine scrubs marathon.)
I stole the pizza line to use on my college girlfriend during a bad fight. It totally worked but she kicked my ass when she caught the rerun a couple weeks later.
I don't like reunion movies. I'd rather not have this perfect ending ruined by a potentially disappointing reunion movie. The finale gave all characters perfect closure, while leaving their exact futures open to personal imagination ... whatever future you want them to have, that's the one they got. It doesn't get any better than that.
RIP Sam Lloyd aka Ted. By the way, Nice Video Rite Here, very rare ending sequence, and very moving. This was SCRUBS, Folks....PS Politically Correct Brigade out there Leave our Show Alone Please. Stop changing art to suit you.
i think J.D.'s son was in the part where Sam and Isabelle show Turk & J.D. they're engaged? And they had a baby in one of the last scenes of the flash-forward.
Tbh, I kinda hated that JD ended up with Elliot, its too predictable, plus I think Kim was a great match for JD but it was a shame that JD didn't have feelings for her in the end. I think Keith could of also have major character development and be more of his own man, the guy has the looks for it.
@@vixxp2856 JD has done shitty things to like lie or mislead Kim to think they could be back together or trying to bail on his kid, almost cheating on Kim, the point is that it would of shown more growth for JD to deal with this and move on with Kim than end up with Elliot..
from the very beginning, i like this show because it shows a lot of good values that actually happens in real life. and then, they ruined it in the end of season 6. I mean WTF, how come JD and Kim didnt end up together ? she carried his child, and they just became a couple again. they always ruins some good shows with stupid plot twist. first they ruined HIMYM, and now this one.
Nah Sean was like her lap dog, they didn't have real chemistry. It never seemed like Elliot loved him. Elliot and J.D. are actually pretty similiar and had a connection since the Pilot
I would love it if Rick Sanchez came to the scrubs reality and said "Elliott your real name is Beth you're my daughter from Another Universe I just changed your name and memories to protect you from the Galactic Federation."
