Thank you. Coki beach is such a fun, easy, and enjoyable place to dive and snorkel. On St. Thomas I would say it’s our favorite shore dive. Thanks for watching.

Been there twice. Laid back. Enjoyable. Last time they had corals on ropes getting ready to transplant. Nice video.

Amazing footage of the Horse Eyed Jacks and Tarpon just after checking out the exhibits.

That was one of my favorite parts of the dive - to be in shallow water and have them right above and alongside us. I also enjoyed looking for the bluebell tunicates - they are so cool! -- Sara

Looks like a calm and easy dive. Thanks for sharing Coki Beach and Coral World. I had never heard of it before. Like the horse eyed jacks.

Thanks for watching! The conditions there make for easy shore dives. We liked the variety of marine life - from the small tunicates to the large tarpon.

We did this dive in July of this year, in the same order you did. We met Peter there as well. What a great guy! We were not on a "dive trip" but decided to do a couple of dives and are glad we found this little gem. For what it is, it's quite a nice, easy dive with lots to see if you take the time to look. We found a huge lobster in the west reef.....ironically, near the old lobster trap.... and came back and told one of the dive masters. She swam out and got him for dinner that night. Haha! Thanks for posting!

I agree - the Coki Beach dives are a "little gem". Peter was very knowledgeable and provided us with a great tour of the reef. You're right, if you take the time you'll find all sorts of marine life. We were impressed by the number of eels and small sea creatures in the crevices to the west. I even found an octopus on the way back to shore in about 10 feet of water nestled among a few rocks in the sandy area. We don't have bluebell tunicates on our St. Croix reefs so it was interesting to see so many. Thanks for watching! -- Sara

OMG! I think this is the place I was bitten by the diving bug almost 30 years ago. I don't know if the same company, it was 3 guys around our age operating it (mid 20's). I was in the Navy and we were doing a port visit at St. Thomas. The Ship's MWR officer setup an Intro Dive session for anyone that wanted to go. Myself and about 6-7 other shipmates jump at it. They came and picked us up at the pier. The beach is very familiar and the island across from it. The tables nor the building was there, but the cabinet on the right was. One of my shipmates asked what the thing out in the water to our right was. One of the dive instructors said that it was an aquarium and that we weren't allowed to go near it. We did a very simple 20-30 ft dive out into the water after feeding the fish after we were about 10ish feet deep. One of the airdales' nipple got bit by one of the fish because it looked like the (I believe it was dog food) food we were using. But many years later I finally got a chance to get my OW cert. I'm now AOW, Rescue and slooooowly working on my Dive Master. All thanks to this place!

Wow! Thanks for sharing your memories! This is a great location for an introduction to diving - happy to hear it was where your diving experience started for you and that you are still getting underwater. Good luck with your Divemaster work!

Excellent vid! Can you comment on whether Croix or Thomas is preferable for a short dive holiday in your opinion? THanks!

Glad you like the video! We live on St. Croix, so we may be biased when referring visitors to the islands :) St. Croix is known for its varied shore dives, including the Frederiksted Pier, the Butler Bay wrecks, shallow reefs, and the north shore Wall. Plus there are several dive boat operators that can take you to sites along the north shore or off the west side. You can get a taste of many types of dive sites here. Outside of Coki Beach on St. Thomas, there are not as many accessible shore dive sites. There are dive boat operators that can take divers to great locations. While visiting St. Thomas we enjoyed going to French Cap and Cow Rock, as well as to Buck Island to a shallow wreck there. We have videos on these sites if you want to check them out. Hope this helps!

I have a few questions. 1. How deep did y’all dive? 2. I’m worried about diving and flying about 48 hours afterwards. 3. If we do the beginners 40 ft dive, will we see as much as you did in this video? 🥺 Thank you for your time. Absolutely loved the video.
@TritonsRealm

Thanks for watching and great questions! Our maximum depth was around 40 ft and our average depth about 30 ft. So you can expect to see everything we saw on our dive, and maybe a few things we didn't. 😊 The current recommendations for flying after diving are waiting at least 12 hours after a single dive, 18 hours after multiple dives or days of diving, and 24 hours if you'd like to be really conservative. Below is a link to DAN's page with more details. dan.org/health-medicine/health-resources/diseases-conditions/flying-after-diving/ We're sure you'll have a great time! Enjoy.
