I cannot possibly thank you enough for NOT TALKING!!!! This was far more informative than some moron spouting off what they think about the plugin for 10 minutes before playing a single note. I have a pair of ears, thank you very much. I can judge for myself. Thanks for putting in the time to put this video, and these recordings together.
I tried all the other big names, in the end I thought amp sims were a joke, that was until I got recommended SGear over on TGP forums, amazing, worth every single buck, it’s very special indeed, brilliant demo and some real tasty playing, good job 👏
Tried almost all of these amp sims with Line6 being the worst and s-gear being the best when used for playing thru studio monitors in a small room environment. S-gear has the most authentic tone to the amps being modeled, has the most dynamic response and feel (Touch sensitivity and guitar volume knob sensitive), most realistic overdrive without harsh digital hash. I couldn't imagine anyone being dissatisfied with the versatility of tones you can get out of these sims. The only con is the user base is rather small for sharing files and the stand-alone could use a little more bang for the buck with maybe an added auto-wha for example. Great video and great playing.
Never know we're your melodys are going or the speed , it's brilliant , so much variation . Very musical , you should do a colab with Pete thorn . Stay safe friend ⚡️🤘🏻😆
Great Demonstration and excellent playing to the amps and effects. Thank you. S-Gear came free with my new RME interface but I haven't downloaded it yet.. Looking forward to it now more than ever.. Cheers...
Tasty playing! Nice demo! For a Fender Tweed Classic, I did enjoy very much the Tweed 57' but right now, my favorite is the F-59 from fuse audio labs, that I use with a Ownhammer Deluxe impulse!
Great Video! very nice playing. Although I've got a slightly older version of S-Gear, this video is the first I've seen that explains what each amp sim is supposed to be emulating.
Awesome demo and crazy great playing. Hard to believe that’s software. Super glad I just bought it. I wonder which reasonably priced studio monitors would do Scuffham justice?
You guys can always put one of the Audiority distortion pedals in front of the sgear vst, in the signal chain Audiority released a boss metal distortion, fuzz face and big muff clones. We have Nenbrini and Mercurial Tube screamers as well. And i also recomend the now out of business Mokafix fuzzes
@@ringi1970 True, but it only takes a moment to load up a DAW and VST plugins. I always jam with my DAW running in case I come up with something new to record, plus it makes it much easier to load and manipulate jam tracks.
Hi Alberto! Really nice playing and nice video, thanks for sharing. I have a question for you, I hope you can help me. I downloded the presets pack you created, I found it on the S-gear website. The question is: what have I to do to import in the plug-in on my pc?
Great playing and wonderful amp sim! I am playing along with the demo version of V2.9 right now a but I cannot find some of the patches that you are using so as to compare. I cannot find "Jackal Lead" for example. Is one that modified yourself?
@@AlbertoBarrero1 Thank you, Alberto. This will be very helpful. I must say that after more than 2 solid years with Helix Native and fighting with scratchy, fizzy amp tones I have finally found a suitable replacement in this Scuffham amp package. I spent hours with it today and was impressed beyond words. It's just that good. I sure hope that Mike Scuffham has seen your video because it is a real asset for him. The best part is that your tones are honestly achievable. There is no funny business going on. I too have PRS core, Strats, LPs, etc. and was able to get all of the same tones that you demonstrated in your video. I will be delighted to have yours as you truly are a brillant player. Happy New Year.
Gracias a s-gear he descubierto tu magia tambien, eres la leche!.
Hello Alberto, excelent video! I'm looking for a guitar plugin and there's a lot ot choose. I'm looking for the best authentic amp sounds and feeling. I was sell on the Amplitube4+fender collection 2 or the Helix Native, but now appears the S-gear. What will you recommend me?
It's an amazing amp Sim. The only other one as good is DSP nolly. I find you only need to spend a little time with tweaking and changing cabs to suit your style and guitar and your good to go. Some good analog overdrives before it can really help dial in the exact sound your chasing
The brilliant sound I have yet to hear in any S-gear. I wonder which kind of SD (Seymour Duncan) pickups you have in your strat? Do you have any pre-eq (or additional preamp) or post EQ done? And it seems, like the interface, Prism Sound Lyra 2 has some higher impedance in instrument input than 1 mOhm. I know that Lehle Sunday Driver has 4 mOhm but with added noise as a comproise. But it tracks the spikes better...i wonder because Prism Sound Lyra 2 is even more posh than germans RME. Expensive units. High quality, maybe it's that? I do have S-gear too, and while I watched this I tried to get the same sound, with the presets, looking at it, and while I have pristine studio monitors, I have an RME usb interface, with Lehle Sunday Driver in front. Can't get it to "spark" the same as you do in the pick attack, especially with the strat which - too - has some kind of vintage voiced pickups from Lindy Fralin. Besides all this, very very nice playing appropriate for each amp and style. Keep up the good work!
Same man. I got heaps of starts and Les Pauls and sounds nothing like this in the presets. Interment production of gear is always so fake compared to what you really get
@@joshmuz9018 Yes, that's my suspicion too, they spiff it up on YT to make it sound better than it is. Of course, they're not alone, most others does this too. Ok, then I know I am not alone. But I thought they might have done something with the new upgrade, but apparently not then. I'll move on.
@@henkehakansson2004 @joshmuz Hi mates !! In the test without BT there is no signal processing (everything comes out of the S-GEAR) My strat with Seymour Duncan SSL-1 Set) direct to the Prism Sound Lyra 2 (+4) All the best !!
I too have just discovered it, and by far the best sounding sim I have tried. question though - it obviously lacks extra boost / effects ( dont know if it really needs it, but would be icing on the cake) how do we get extra effects? any tutorials out there?
The S-gear doesn't have any x-tra effects to put in before preamp. It only has post amp mod delay reverb thing. 3 pieces each. But you can use two delays in tandem or after each other and use on for choruses, and the other for delay. It does allow for loading own IR's though. And others. This is standalone. If used inside any daw or vst plugin you can very well add pedals from all the others out there, even freeware, but pedals from Guitar Rig, Amplitube or others. And then route it directly into the S-gear.
I read the description. Just to be clear, you are connecting your guitar to computer via audio interface Prism Sound Lyra 2? That is super expensive audio interface man. I have focusrite scarlett solo 2nd gen and all plugins sounds so horrible and bad on it. Just makes me want to throw away my guitar within 2 min. But I notice you are getting awesome sounds in this video. Is that expensive audio interface the key?
im curious on what audio interface you used with what input gain? what volume setting on guitar? any post eq/compression? i can;t seem to replicate these tones with the same settings in s-gear
2020 and guitarists are still not getting what they need. Getting any of this stuff to work is a college course. Paying for it is out of the question at this phase. Especially with all the BS that goes along with that and in some cases no support for legacy. If I say any more than that I fear retaliations. I'm not sayin anything except S-GEAR 2.9 has the best cabinet modeling in my view. When it comes to the cabinet modeling is where the greed starts and music loses.
I struggle to get great tone in this software. I have maybe 8 profiles that I absolutely love and basically never explored anything else. It's tough to learn how to dial in digital tones.
What are you talking about?! This plugin is plug n play... stock presets sounds unbelievable. If you don’t sound incredible straight out of the box, you’re clearly doing something wrong here (no offense). Along with ML Sound Lab, this is the most authentic sounding/feeling tube amp modelling plugin ever created. Even compared to the Neural DSP stuff, i feel it’s still a notch closer to the real thing.
@@davidmultimedia2024 For real. I've pretty intensely compared S-Gear to similar sounds through a Two Rock, a Redplate, and a Tone King. All top tier amps, but more often than not, S-Gear stands up to the real deal in each case. Not better, not worse, just a touch of a different flavor. But, of course, infinitely more versatile than any single one of those amps. Even more versatility if you grab a couple third-party IRs to import, though the stock selection is plenty good, too.
@@mattmccarron5403 exactly! Finally someone who can feel the difference. I strongly suggest you try STL AmpHub. This is subcription based (10$/month or 100$/year) and you get full access to all amps/fx (with new amps and fx every month). This is by far the most realistic amp sim ever. If you dig S-Gear, you’ll be completely blown away by AmpHub. Enjoy!
Are you aware that your interface needs to have a high impedance instrument input, and that the instrument mode has to be turned on? Sometimes it is a button, but sometimes you have to turn it on i the interface control software. If not that will spoil your sound.
For sure not the best, but ok. Playability, dynamic and response could be improved and the overall digital flavour attenuated. There are are some better free amp plugins.
Methinks so too. But in all this package. Mind you the amps of these ones are running a tiny bit long in the tooth now, since 3 of them is from 2011 when it was launched. In 9 years, lots of things has happened with other software amp sims too. Free, and paid. However, when reviewed in recent reviews, both internet, and magazines of repute, it's still up there in the top 10, if not to 5 at least. Not bad for a 9 year old product. But hey, a real Fender Twin is from 1966 (say) and is still up and running and hasn't been surpassed with any model that replaces it. Still. ;-)
@@N4SixString BIAS amp free version, and anything free from Plugin Alliance, especially Blue Cat Axiom, as well as Blue Cat free amps. However, Blue Cat is as rabbit hole as you can get. Deep dive into tweaking and tinkering. S-Gear DO seem aimed to traditionalists, and not favor that well with high-gain metalists. S-Gear still works great for simplicity GUI, although I would have some slight objections - still - to preset management. Amplitube and Guitar Rig has recently come out with later year developments and has upped the ante. But this upgrade hysteria, with "now our amps are even better" will eventually wear thin. No such thing exist in a IRL tube amp world. The Fender Twin was like that in 1966 and stil are. No hyping "we upgraded the twin...now it sounds better". To software amp sims 9 years is a long ime, and if you don't keep up, you will be left astern. But i still haven't heard ANY amp sim do a convincing AC30 sound. To me that is. To you? perhaps. I don't care.
I have s gear, heaps of good guitars and pedals and the tones are nowhere near like in this video. Clearly post production editing or some other tricks going on
