This guy is a genius ! Once i installed the plug-in and started playing, i was hooked. I kept jamming until 2 in the morning and i was getting up at 6. that's how much i enjoyed this wonderful product !
Love the way you can hear great tones coming out of a monitor speaker. Mike got it right for us small studio guys who just want unparalleled versatility, great tone and feel in an amp sim product and allow us to get fractal audio quality at a fraction of the cost. I bought S-gear because after 1 hour playing on the 10-day demo product, it was such an enjoyable experience, I couldn't put my guitar down. This product satisfies both the tweaker and the set it and forget it player
Pretty nice! Cool how he seamlessly shifted from amps, to amps with embedded dsp, to plug-in amp simulating. Sounds like ha has the proper background to pull it off.
I’m going to support mike with Scuffham, I think it’s fantastic and I know his update will be great. I’m really hoping it will be ported over to IPad as well. Great product. 🤓🤘
S-Gear user since 2012 here! I have owned EVERY hardware modeller out there. Axe FXs, Kemper, Line6 Pods and many software products, including BIAS. S-Gear kills them all, it's that good! I have crazy good tube amps and have owned many more. For recording nothing beats S-Gear, I am running a Focusrite Saffire PRO 26 and the same Genelecs. BTW: I also had an old Marshall JMP-1 rack that Mike designed.
Would love a full video on this in your studio now since you seem impressed by it. Maybe this could be the one to change your mind on modeling. I'd be very curious to hear what how it sounds/what you think of it in a mix/on your monitors etc.
S-Gear is by far the best emulation available. No nonsense interface, a few really useful FX, and you can load cabinet IRs. Runs on an 2010 iMac, RME Babyface, Buffer size 64. That is all I ever need.
I totally agree..I used all over my new single: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Af4HZ6PnG8c.html but I so want Mike to give us a Vox or Morgan type amp to add to the other brilliant amps....
I know I'm late in replying, but I too have had S-Gear Scuffam amp sim for quite awhile. Its has, by far, THE best plexi sim I've ever used. In fact, theres a TON of really great sims in that amp sim software. I'm surprised it took you so long to get to this one Henning....
What I’ve always liked about S-Gear is the limitation of just a few amps and cabs. It could use a UI update though, some controls and labels are rather tiny...
I agree about actually recording with guitar amp sims on a project in any daw, and I"ve tried 4. I think the only way that we can get there as an actual studio setting is with computers that have separate cpu's for only processing the VST things. Similar to a graphics card but only for running background daw processes. I record with my bitrate at 24 and if I have an ezdrummer midi track, a bass line recorded amped or just clean d/i, adding any guitar amp software that I've tried is not possible at that bitrate. I could probably do that with clean audio at 128 or 256 but I have amps and mics that make me don't change the way I have everything else on my computer setup with audio. Hardware isn't good enough for the software yet.
I can track with buffer down to 64 using S Gear with a Rolland Octacapture, without any noticeable latency. Using an I7 with 16 gigs of Ram. S Gear is the best Ampsim I've used.
Cool demo Henning, but stop focusing on Boogiest or Marshallesk mentions. These refer to different pre amp topologies and eq sections and are actually quite usefull to identify what you can expect from a model. To me mentionning M-type or B-type as a class of amp type is absolutely not the same as trying to fool people by saying its a perfect representation of a JCM800 or Mark IIc+ . Also many pedal makers also refer to M... In a box or US metal or else to advertise their pedals and you don't bitch about it. Just move past this point and keep doing fresh and interesting demo with your honest opinion, this is what we like!
Great video. Thank you so much. I really wonder that was that yellow thing Lehle Sunday Driver Buffer-Booster or Lehle Sunday Driver XLR which is DI Buffer&Booster?
Iam on my trial right now. Never EVER tryed anything better!!! This simple, userfriendly, and holy shit its good sounding! :D Iam going to buy this! This is what i have been waiting for in years! Great great product!
I have spent a lot on the most popular amp and FX pack and still cannot get a good tone - S Gear (also part of slate bundle) just gives me the tone straight away no messing about (Tremendous Lead preset is pretty awesome) - Just buy the thing already!
I have most amp plug ins. S-Gear is the best. The only thing is that I wish they would include a looper and the looks can be spruced up...but you can't play looks, so not a biggie.
MNR SYN hey 👋🏻 ,can I please ask you ,i am about to buy an amp and I was going to spend about 600$ for the katana artist.but the truth is that all I will be playing would be in my study in one place, would it make more sense to put my money in good studio monitors, and some good vst guitar software? Or would an amp always be better? (The amp would also have the option of recording straight in to the computer).... im just not sure if it is necessary to buy the amp if all I’ll be playing is in one place..... ? Any help would really really be appreciated:))
I don't get why you can't play enter sandman, a lot of other u tubers do?... Love your channel Henning, one of the best ones IMO...but please explain to me why u can't play a simple enter sandman riff...
because it isn’t my song and it is only correct of the RU-vid bots to spot copyright infringement and share the monetizing. It might not happen, but I don’t want to risk it. It’s also funnier to play it wrong!
Got ya, thank you for responding back!... It is pretty funny to hear it played wrong, then you have this goofy look on your face...always makes my day man!...
I don't know. I've got the waves PRS, Kuassa Creme andI've just tried the STL Tonality. I have used Bias, have used Studio Devil, Overloud, Amplitube, Guitar Rig e.t.c e.t.c and right at this moment in time, rather than waste time experimenting with different sims. I'm gonna get some recording done. To that I'm going to use Sgear.
