Hi guys, kenji here and welcome back again to my channel.
This is my 4th tarantula sculpture I made so far, It is the Socotra Island Blue baboon tarantula #monocentropusbalfouri (Monocentropus balfouri). I hope you like it and enjoy the video.

Facts about Monocentropus balfouri:
The Socotra Island Blue Baboon tarantula usually shorten to Blue baboon tarantula is named after its collector Sir Isaac Bayley Balfour and is found in Socotra island part of Yemen, hence the common name. This tarantula is terrestrial and opportunistic burrower and its unique behavior is that it is communal, to the point that mother spiders care for the young, even attacking potential predators if they get close to her egg sac.
Males and females of this species of different ages may live together without attacking one another, in captivity. Considering it is a baboon tarantula its temperament is pretty docile. As it is a species of tarantula found in the Old world, it does not possess urticating hairs. Female of this species live for about 10 to 14 years of age, and could reach a maximum diagonal leg span of 5-6”, while males tend to live for about 3 to 4 years and not much smaller than the females.
Its venom potency is not known, although it is believed by some to be able to kill a dromedary, a one-humped desert camel. An adult M.balfouri coloration is striking, a vivid blue including its carapace, chelicerae and its legs except for the femur which like the rest of the body is creamy greige base coloration.
