The build turned out great! Once the muscle was dry brushed it looked exactly how Isayama colors the mangas! I think Reiner slowly lost armor, as the more he fought Eren, he realized he needed to be slightly faster/better maneuverable to win. It is also shown that the crystal hardening is stronger than Reiner's body armor, so the armor he had kinda lost value. I also think Isayama wanted to try out different armors! That man left almost no detail unticked, but he did like to have fun with his characters so I think that him changing the armor up a little every time was a way to keep the hype up and show Reiner's growth subtly.
It was also mentioned when Armin came up with a strategy against the Colossal Titan that transforming many times made him slimmer and less bulky just like Eren during training. Plus it seems that they have slight differences depending on their goal and mindset when transforming. It’s really gorgeous attention to detail.
I found out about this channe yesterday. I have now watched every video and bought some of my own clay and sculpting tools. This man is so underrated and deserves so much praise.
I've been binging your videos for the past few days as I struggled to decide whether I wanted to finally actually try my hand at sculpting. Today I started my first armature and will very soon begin the clay work, as soon as I convince my brain I can do this. So here you go, have a sub, and my thanks for being so entertaining to watch. Also I'd be curious to see if you would ever make a Weeping Angel from Doctor Who .... just don't blink ;)
Good luck! My one piece of advice: if you start a project, finish it! That was always my problem--I would leave so many half finished projects, and until they're done, they always look naff
If youre looking for suggestions adam, how about replicating a scene from the botw 2 trailers? Like the malice pouring out of ganons corpse or the stone talus with bokoblins on top of it
I was having a shitty day. Sat down and watched this with my kids and am happy again. Also my kids are really inspired by your building techniques, ok, we all are, but my youngest seems to be better than us others. Thx for being!
Love the thought of a dainty lady skeleton inside every Titan. 😂 From now on I'll be secretly laughing to myself every time a well muscled hulk walks by 😂
Dude this is sick!!! I would love to see Eren's titan with the Boulder or even the colossal kicking through the wall! Both big ideas but they would be so cool if you want to do more Attack On Titan stuff! Keep up the great work man!
Never seen the show, and I'm not at all a sculpturer(?), but you are crazy entertaining and the I always wait for the terrain-part to steal all of your ideas for my next build. I gave a copy of one of the book nooks to a friend and now I'm mass producing book nooks with different themes for friends and family as gifts. Thanks for all the inspiration
I saw some bits of a few of your videos in passing and had no idea how good you actually are. This is insane, the level of detail you manage to get and how "easy" you make it look is astonishing. You should be sculpting authorized figures and statues for companies like this. Holy shit are you skilled.
You nailed the facial expression for getting your eyes blown out! Also, fade from Film to Sculpture at the start was powerful, you must have felt good seeing that for the first time!
Hey I'm curious, what is your camera set up? Cos it looks like it's right in front of you and I can't imagine working with something so detailed with a camera in my face.
Some shots are pretty close to right in my face. I mount it vertically from above my desk and it drops down directly in front, but for some shots I need to work at an angle so the camera looks straight on (yes, it's every bit as obnoxious as it sounds)!
@@NorthoftheBorder I get what you mean, anything for great content right? Thanks for sharing your setup. I found your channel while doing research on fellow sculpting channels, and I have to say yours is one of the better ones out there. I like that you actually speak in your videos, which feels more engaging than those timelapses that I tend to fast forward just to see the end product. Your jokes are so subtle and natural, they never fail to crack me up. The style of your video is absolutely brilliant, and since I can't achieve your deep and therapeutic voice, I am definitely gona try borrow some of your editting elements and implement them in my own videos 😜 Great stuff!
Don't get me wrong the titan was incredible, but man the sculpting on the super tiny Hange and Mikasa blew my mind! Can't even believe the level of detail on them! Amazing piece as always~
Maybe you don't hear it very often and I have no idea why but man your commentary is top-notch, Armored Titan is not Armored enough to not get blown by Thunder Spears
Only followed about two weeks ago and I swear your subs have gone up by about 20k. Your work is so original and I love how you own your mistakes. Keep doing what you're doing dude!
Aw I missed watching the video first today! Been in architecture studio all day. 😭 Now I'm sick of model making but watching your videos always helps me improve my work!
Adam, ill just say this. As someone who is newer to your channel than some commenters before me, I truly hope your channel starts to grow viewers as your commentary alone is just hilarious to me. Very real. Very comical. Please continue doing what you do sir.
You hit the nail on the head with the reason reiners armour changes throughout the series, it changes with his mindset, my headcanon is that his armour isn't physical it's like actual plot armour. Like ymir was looking out for him, he totally loses it at one point which I see as like ymir setting him free, no more cosmic protection... that aside sick build man!
I love this! One tiny thing is that Hange doesn’t actually have her goggles on in this scene because it’s right after she lost her eye. Everything else is perfect though!
May I ask? What was the tool you used for the armature wiring section? Was it a power tool? The drill thingy? I don't sculpt from clay because my art stats is 5 out of 100, and growing up nothing artsy I have wanted to make ever looked good haha. But I make stuffed felt dolls for myself, and use an armature for their skeletons... And they always seem too weak. Manually twisting the wire with my bare hands are time-consuming and painful to the fingers, so I wanted to know if there's a better and more reliable way! Yours seems like what I'm looking for! (Also after watching videos like yours and a few others in the platform, I admit I'm a tad tempted to play with clay a bit, haha)
Maybe he has less armor cause he’s progressing in fighting skills and no longer needs as much protection and heavy weight? Maybe he’s just trying to be more vogue and slim down.. either way looks awesome. Do you prefer grey sculpy over the flesh colored? All I can find is grey right now.
Y’know Adam, now that I saw that pic you put up of the colossal titan I really wanna see you sculpt one. I think with your style it would really come out something awesome!
Veeerryyy cool! I dig the editing too, it's inspiring. I wonder, if you wanna share, do you write a script for your voice-over during/after working on your projects or maybe mostly freestyle it?
HOW DARE YOU. THAT'S PRIVATE INFORMATION. But for realsies, it's pretty much all off the cuff, and you can tell when I'm on a roll since I start to run out of breath (too many words, sometimes). It's also why you get moments like the mm/mmth/mnm/mononity
@@NorthoftheBorder I DON'T CARE GIVE ME ALL THE PRIVATE INFO! wait no no scratch that I'm good okay thanks. But seriously thanks for answering! And cool to know, since it's all quite informative yet funny and it does sound very natural as well. I was being nosy cause I'm editing my first ever voice-over now and did a script but it just sounds forced and boring. Gonna have to try a different approach next time, just wanna get it over and done with now though aahhh.
he is underrated but need more then 10 mil subs,he has the best sculpting channels, you also have really good comedy and make me laugh till i fall off the bed.
I always hot LIKE before I even watch the video because I really like your content, your comedy and your work. It seems that with every new model you make you're getting better and better. You really make me want to give this a try. I ordered some sculpting tool and now I just have to do it I guess lol. What do you use besides polymer clay? This looks like so much fun. Fantastic job buddy
Cheers! I don't use much besides the clay, but I'll use whatever's on hand if it fits the moment--alcohol for smoothing and bake and bond for glueing pieces are essential too.
I imagine this takes several days, even weeks, to complete your sculptures. This is super funny to me for the SOLE REASON that imagine walking into a room one day and seeing a half painted naked muscle man just…. Sitting there…… menacingly…… idk that seems so hilarious to me.
i'm fairly sure the thing with the armor plates has some correlation with reiner's physical and mental health as the series progresses, shifters age rapidly the closer they are to the end of their life so reiner's probably aging exponentially the further on the series goes, he's hardly got the will to keep fighting, and he's taken multiple beatings at this point
Well armoured Titans are just freaking creepy but the flying ppl are cool......kinda makes me want to watch the show to find out what the heck’s happening lol. Awesome build! Oh and the change in armour plating you mentioned....battle damage...or chafing necessitated the removal of some lol
Judging by a scene in the final season, the reason for him having less armor may have to do with him being weaker from exhaustion, less food, or injuries. Generating the armor requires a certain amount of "energy" and one can only create a titan form so many times before they are exhausted and lose body mass.
Such an AMAZING job Adam!!😍 Freaking crazy eye for detail and anatomy!! Awesome show also! Oooh😬 thats edgy!! I was a heroin addict for almost 9 yrs...flatlined 6 times...now have over 5 1/2 yrs clean time!!😲 a major part of My Success in my recovery has to do with RU-vid! I started watching Trading Card openings that were nostalgic for me! Pokemon, Yugioh, MTG and animes like DBZ, Naruto, Attack on Titan, 7 Deadly Sins, etc. I began spending money's I procured on products to open and started my own RU-vid channel! Gathered myself together in life, got an amazing job and delved into the world of RU-vid!! Thank you for all the content you provide us and I know I say for us all, we really appreciate all the time and effort you give!! 💚 💚
Everyday I wake up and i remember: "Damn North of the Border still doesn't have 200k ?" Then I cry. Edit: you have actually 70k let's hope it continues to grow 💪😎
I’ll go on Amazon to look for a figure and the graphics and imagery are all crap, then I turn around and see all of you creations and honestly words can not explain. I just wanna say man your creations are inexplicable
If you don’t mind me making a suggestion; Guts from berserk would be perfect for this type of project, especially with your hyper detail. Guts vs the snake apostle from the first volume would be a good scenario. Others could be Guts vs Griffith when he’s about to leave the band of the hawk or Guts vs Nosferatu Zodd in the graveyard of swords. Just a suggestion but would love to see it in the future
