@@RoughWalkers Sleep system is when you log out on a bedroll or bed within a house/dwelling - Exhaustion system dissipates upon resting and logging out. But no sleep system in game.
@@RayKit Its a shame i know it makes sense for MP persistant servers but need it for single player.... once iv got all the acheievments i can use the trainer to set the time but still
Ray!!! We are aware that the game is in early access! All these discussions and feedback are to ensure the game is on the right path. We want the developers to know what we want and what needs improvement. Nobody is saying the game is bad, we just want it to be perfected and true to SCUM original idea before the official release.
Yeah I like Rays content but I feel like often he does give the devs a bit too much leeway for my liking. We know it’s early access but often games hide behind that in order to release sub par content. In the last year the devs have released literal game breaking content that should never have gone live, but they hide behind early access and take months to address it. The puppets are just the most recent problem. For like 3 years you couldn’t sit in the passenger seat of a car without monstrous desync, when Abandoned bunkers released for about 4-6 weeks razers were diving out of the floor upto half a grid away and downing people nowhere near it. I had a razer dive on me when I was parachuting down multiple times when it released. Early access is no excuse for some of this stuff. This game still has huge potential but the devs really need to continue the recent communication.
@@IsSalty RK has to be super careful bc scum is his bread and butter and he is arguably the most popular scum streamer out there. Its sort of like the colonel coming out and saying KFC chicken is bad. Nothing against RK, I would probably do the same and leave my concerns for private conversations with the devs
@@chihigonazo He loves the game and still enjoys it an he believes in the devs, so It's nothing against him personally at all. I just hope he can use his influence to continue giving them feedback that benefits us all. Recently youtubers showed us that synchronised pressure from the community can result in changes.
I like how they are keeping in touch with the community with weekly updates on steam. I'm on console so i haven't played it yet. I know a lot of people are going to be waiting for this on console.
Honestly, 100% agree with the removal of Camo Skill. It's a little broken, you only need medium camo, and you become invisible while laying down to anyone without advanced awareness. Personally, I think the whole skill system and what each one does is due for a compete rework.
It's pretty incredible to think the devs have truly made something unique here. It's good to see what really works when it comes into play such as the camo skill.. or awareness. Appreciate the comment Mr Freeze thanks bud!
Hunting and cooking should be removed until they lower the amount of food AND food repulsion should be way more intense. You can eat nearly anything without issues. Animals are just a minor nuisance, not a major source right now. Camouflage needs to be combined with stealth if they make it more like a skill for concealment. If you are able to use items to camouflage yourself, you can adjust that to the biome you are in. Better skill = fitting better into the environment but NOT making anyone invisible. You can think about mud on face/arms, moss/grass, crafted ghillies, straps out of bark/leafs, whatever suits you. Also might have camo nets for concealing base elements or cars. Higher skill = better concealment but NOT invisible. But as you said, the engine Scum is running on makes foliage render terrible. It doesnt matter if you play epic or low settings, distance render is bad. I'm simply wondering if the game at it's full potential will run properly on this engine. Somehow I have a bad feeling about the functionality of a lot of skills, simply based on how stuff looks and loads in. Sniping, foliage distance, loading in of building elements like doors/windows, puppets don't show from a far distance, sentry neither... and then so much more is to come, so much more detailed information that individually influences all kinds of things, which puts even more pressure on performance. Early access is fine, i am a bit anxious that they really push for 1.0. With a lot of issues to address and all the time it takes, i am really hoping it wont release before 2025..
The frustration gets real the closer we get to the finish line and realizing that is not the best survival game after all but a bunch of rushed out unfinished content glued together by a bit of nothingness. I say it will only get worse as they don't realize the amount of sh.. they have to fix before adding more content but so far only content and paid content are being worked on. It wouldn't take a smart person to understand how bad the cooking, hunting, puppets system would be without adjustment on other existing mechanics of the game the fact that they didn't care shows that they either are bad at the job or they being controlled by someone higher up, either way don't see improvements at all. When Devs decisions are questioned and the answer is " we want/like it this way" shows exactly how little they care about the community.
Dear Ray, it is right, that this is an EA-Game. I am playing it about 2000hrs. I am playing SCUM since 0.2. But it has to be comprehended, that the next major update is 1.0 and release and it feels not ready for that. After all the years in my opinion it was waste of time to prior low-level-cosmetic things and absolute nothing for Single-Players. For Survivors out there, who wanted a Survival game. Everything feels not ready and not polished to release. After 1.0 it will feels like EA further. And so the whole playerbase want now a polished SCUM like. The good things are lost, the hunting is trash, the horde is trash as ***** and in EA we were not able to test the quest-system! After 6 years now, SCUM will not give us a feeling about a polished and finished game to release. That makes us sad. And by the way, look at the other games....neverending EA Title like SCUM always will be.
Killing the Game just before the 1.0 Release was a great idea, Thx Developers for not listening to the community. Now i have a lot of time for other games.
Devs aren't killing the game. They're developing it. bad coffee? Make a new one.. I also play a lot of other games. It's not healthy to stick to one game all the time anyway.
@@RayKit Can't have 0 players if the game has bots. The game is essentially dead as is. I know it's hard for you to release that since you've intertwined your entire career on the game to succeed. The official sub Reddit has had 1 post in the last 24 hours. There's almost no active online chatter about the game anywhere on the internet. Bots are definitely holding the numbers up on steamcharts. I spent 1000 hours playing the game the first few years. But there hasn't been a single update since early 2020 that has made me want to play longer than checking out what's changed.
@@Randolpher It's not hard to look around and wonder why one statistic is so drastically different than the others. If a streamer had 1000 viewers yet one chat per minute, it's not hard to figure out there's view botters in chat. DayZ only has twice the amount of active players on steam, yet has 60x the posts in the last 24 hours on it's sub reddit than scum.
In last two years we got lots of new stuff and changes but to be honest half of the stuff feel like chore and not like fun time. Cooking in useless, in my opinion vehicle assembling is too tedious. Lost of cheaters. And no responses on cheat report, and so on. I think game is going in wrong direction.
Ray!!! We are aware that the game is in early access! All these discussions and feedback are to ensure the game is on the right path. I understand that 100% We were told a few months ago the puppets were a work in progress. I'd like to hear people scream a bit louder about hunting/cooking though. Lots to fix in this unfinished game. Appreciate the comment mate!
I stopped playing this game since the first base building interaction and I wont go back until they release the server files (which they said they will, but I doubt it) so we can host and manage our own server infrastructure. I just got tired of playing on shitty servers or paying way more expensive for server hosting when I already have a huge gaming infrastructure for my guild for other games. I know a lot of people who stopped playing this game because of this. They made a HUGE mistake gatekeeping this because they signed a wrong contract exclusivity with hosts. Lets see if the devs open their eyes or they will be another dead game.
The game won't be a dead game at all. It certainly has it's issues (agreed) but that doesn't mean the devs won't fix them or have mod support later for any loose ends. will bring a lot more to the game. until the game is complete they cannot give out game files. it wouldn't make sense. All mods will be broken every 5 minutes. That would annoy server owners even more so. Appreciate the comment mate. Enjoy your sunday.
@@RayKit Have you heard of No One Survived? They've only been in ea for a little over a year. I can create my own server. IMO It's not that they can't release the files it's they don't want to. It's their game they have that right.
@flash1259 I just don't think they want to release the files until the majority of the game snd core features are finished. Yeah I've heard of no one survived. Played a little.
I heard the Devs were adding one or more Frisbee Disc Golf Courses? Will they be adding the different types of Discs as well because a Frisbee Disc Golf Course is kind of worthless if we don't have multiple Frisbee Discs for the different ranges and distances.
Hello, is there any news about Steam Deck or normal controller compatibility? Have not played a loong time for now... bit missing it, but afraid to comeback, dunno how much is changed since that.
A LOT has changed my friend. No news on the steam deck and controller support fully will be when console release happens i expect at 1.0. Cheers Roman!
Glad to hear they’re not planning to scrap the horde system, I’ve been enjoying the time with other more fun games, glad to have been given a good reason to put scum in my rear view
I guess your version of dead is considered by player count? A dead game to me is when a game receives no more support. Like no updates in general. 6k-10k players is still alot for a game considering that there are games bellow 1k.
We'll see what happens. I would really like to have full official controller support. Development of Scum has been very slow. Hopefully, it al qorks out. Also, more options for character creation would be nice.
I have started doubting because of the large quantities of negative feedback and lack of dev communication for which way i should look at. This address helps plenty but i gotta say im still on my toes. I just dont want this game to go the same route with few other recent dropouts. They were competitors to SCUM anyways.
My pleasure Neil appreciate the message mate. Keeping them towards the end of each week unless something big happens. Much love to you and fam. Enjoy your night
eac, battleye are both unsecure because they have employees who sell backdoor methods, heart beat methods and everything, u can't trust those industries. but whatever scum literally is turning into rust cheat wise, where almost ever server has a user with aimbot or esp.
I wish they would include a setting to adjust the brightness inside the bunkers (except for the abandoned bunker). When looting in the bunkers, I find it difficult to spot the puppets when the particular area does not have lights on the ceiling.
@@RayKit darkness is part of the game difficulty to figure out. but if it is something like let's say there's a light above head that is on, and there is no light being spread, that would be a bug. i personally love full darkness, did a vid on it with NO UI as well in the dark, in that large trainyard in Z sector. give it a try sir. full dark, flares, flashlight with sketchy power, and no HUD. it's a fun time!
finally a movement overhaul. about time. rework ADS/gunplay mechanics and it'll survive, hope has slowly dwindled for this game, and it's sad, really did enjoy it. but it's just gone sliding down hill for a while.
It's a tough feature for sure. Just have to work it right and not carry so much at a time. The heavier weight you carry, the faster exhaustion creeps up on you. Just like real life. exhaustion is a very real thing.
@@voidbby5407 having to leave my system on while the night passes Or just "resting" in a bed theres no way to pass time on single player mode so yeah just "waiting around"
Hi Ray, Gotta be honest here, Scum has to be my most played Steam game, with a couple of thousand hours on and off since I think 0.2/0.3?? ish, it cost £15 so, even if I'm not happy with some of the mechanics, or the story changes, or i decide never to play it again, whatever, I've had my money's worth, I've enjoyed my time, and everything comes to an end eventually, I'll jump back in when it's fully released, if it's good, great I'll enjoy my playthrough, if not, no harm, no foul, I won't think less of the devs and, I will, still have had plenty of fun..... Thanks DEVS.....
those of us that have been around for years, will be around. the key is, can they bring it back around to the fun we once saw when we first started playing, so that new players will come in during 1.0. Mods will definitely bring interest, but if the core game isn't solid, we'll have a bleed off after in a big way. either way, i'll keep playing, because it's still more fun than a lot of other games for me.
You are saying the people that uninstalled the game should do so if they are frustrated that bad. Then you go on to say that the Devs are addressing the "long time" complaints. You cant call the people selfish for uninstalling a game when the same complaints have been there for many many moons. That would be hypocritical dont you think? The easy base raiding/lock picking problem has been an issue for ever. Could have been fixed a long time ago. Nobody has to blow up anything. Weeks and months gathering to make a base and its gone in less than an hour is never o.k. Then you have the guys that are masters at lock picking whining about not being able to take everybodys shit in less than an hour "offline" without ever needing a bullet or explosives. Just ludicris. Add or fix other things that arent even 1/2 as important as a place to live while struggling to eat and drink. Come on man.
@@garytetley8163 6 years is nothing for an actual legit game. Star Citizen is over 11 years. Tarkov is over 7 years. Dayz Was over 7 years. Scum has so much after 5 years.. and they had to deal with covid and earthquakes. They've done well in my opinion.
The camo skill/mechanic should be removed entirely. I wrote several tickets during the weekend on this topic. You camo should be influenced only by your clothes and the surroundings. The Camo mechanic is broken. We are not some warcraft heros to have invisibility skill.
All that would be great IF your surroundings actually rendered in!! The camo skill at least gave a bit of a counter to the game's awful distance render. Ever looked over 150m or through a scope? Zero grass, 75% reduced bushes and trees and flat brown when you think you are lying in dense grass. As an aside the camo skill is currently disabled because of the loud few spoiling it for the masses as usual.
You want a game that will always blow this game away? RUST. The real deal. Not a game that resembles Miscreated. Miscreated has low population because of the same reasons. Takes a lot of time getting explosives, you go to buildings that dont have much loot, or decent loot. Hoping to get something to drink or eat is exciting so you dont starve. Base building sucks but at least they have to blow rooms up instead of picking 3 gold locks in 15-20 minutes. Make a server with raid protection or this game is toast. Mark my words.
I thought the game was great a long time ago, before the horror themes and hordes spawning on top of you. I like a survival challenge and the SP game was challenging. Now it's just annoying. After investing over 300 hours and considering the size of the file, I finally decided to uninstall and play something else.
The game will die if the Devs dont make a server that allows offline base protection or fix the easy lock picking even on gold locks. Its killing the game. Do the Devs even play their game? You can think I am whining all you want, but the base system is the reason people have left or dont want to waste all of their time on a cool concept but cant have a life because they have to be on all the time hoping they catch someone picking their locks.
I am one of those guys hopping on a server to lockpick my way trough but reaching a level to pick gold within 5 tries isnt easy and takes 100+ hrs of practice. Dont call it broken or easy. It clearly isnt.
Not much different than H1Z1 Just Survive except Just Survive was better at making a raider blow your base up to get your hard earned loot and the base building was better without starving just walking.😂
imo Scum need's another year of development at lest an Extra year in development can only be a greater Win and really get them core unique systems for features like broken bones etc in before launch rather than rushing out and implementing them later after 1.0. an extra year would give them time to get many Quality of life features and stuff in as well as optimizations n bug fixes more missions, storyline, etc there dont have to be much big content drops. I dont think they ever reduced the awful wind noise in the snow areas. they destroyed animal encounters removed the birds for a rework, never replaced them, it was fun as it was and they never up dated sharks n brought in shark fishing either. C1 bleeds are just an irritation and total annoyance. bows are still Op as hell, basic hand combat and melee is still completely outdated specially considering how far scum has advanced over the years and that's not considering the martial art fighting. surely they are not gonna release Scum 1.0 without a hand combat & melee update!? I do worry just how much influence and say Jagex do have over Scum and the devs or if the devs are working with Jagex but independantly on Scum and still have full artistic and creatvie control and development of Scum? questions that might be a bit too sensitive for people to ask the devs or might be a bit too intrusive to ask? who knows. But I hope by 1.0 they do such a great job they don't keep getting compared to DayZ 😁 👍
Great. A comment about camo and you cant even build a home that cant be lock picked in 30 minutes. Completely worthless preferences. Really??? Preferences. Wow!!!!
@@Reanimator7336 I am on 4000+ hrs in this game now, made my mistakes, learned from them, learned the game and what i notice all the time is ppl who are not sensibilizied on scum´s mechanics. I hop on a random pvp-server, see a base that needs like 3-4 doors to get in the mainbuilding - i lockpick my way trough easely and people cry or bitch about everything. They just dont know scum is a challenging game u cant master properly in a few hundred hours. Laughing hard when people are not able to build a proper base that cant be raided by 2-3 ppl in 30 mins. They have to learn like everyone of us did.
