@2unzArt I'm at a point were i can draw the letters up faster than i can pounce it,and the letters are just as consistent as the pattern but the letters are more appealing because the spacing isn't mechanical.Mechanical spacing confuses the eye subliminally.that's a lesson in layout.and is it pure talent that you can fill something in with out going outside of the lines or is that just kindergarten coloring? the talent in sign painting is your ability to create the words with rhythm ...

@sdkkrew that is ignorant to say. you dont pin stripe with acrylic 3inch wide brushes. he is using a fetch/ fitch, which is a sign writers tool. skill is a lot of it yes ut you need the right tools for the job. like you said, ask any artist. sign writers use sign brushes. thats the tools of the trade. i wouldnt make assumptions about something you dont seem to know much about..

nice are you using the tip of your brush to pull the down strokes and curves, because thats the way you paint...or is it because you are painting onto a rough surface? (id paint it with the brush flat, is why i ask)...(and with a mahl stick!) :-)

@2unzArt the correct term is sign painter first off i happen to be one and we also use quills cutting brushes 2 inch filler's and this isnt pure talent he pounced the letters before he painted them he didnt draw them up which means it's not as appealing to the eye as it could be because the spacing is mechanical "COMPUTER LETTER'S" look's right but it's not...

@CHILLEDKAHLIL ".Mechanical spacing confuses the eye subliminally?????????? are you insane? you do realize that show card writers and sign writers have been mentored and have built alphabets that are 100% mechanical match to the actual printed alphabet. so that made no sence at all. "the talent in sign painting is your ability to create the words with rhythm" the flow of the words yes but the talent in sign writing comes with layout beyond anything else and any sign writer will tell you that...

@CHILLEDKAHLIL and you explain prepping a pounce pattern to me? ha hardly. kid, i used to be your age once thinking i knew everything about everything but ill give you some friendly advice, when you can pull a brush with the best of them ( i have and do every day) and get the recognition as a sign WRITER then you can start giving critz. all you are spewing here is stuff you can easily google or just happen to know because you can draw a pretty letter or two.

A pounce pattern isn't pure talent? For a sign painter you just made a very ignorant statement there. Do you even know how to prep a pounce pattern? And yes they ate also referred to as sign painters. Letterheads, scribble men, etc. sign writing is the name of the trade. I know, I am one as well. Whether they're pounced or free handed you still need to know how to pull a brush. I come from a great line of letter heads and have seen it done every way. By your logic, the Pre mask and pull method

@2unzArt but look at your ignorance you think you can judge someone talent wise on there age.I've worked with three different company's and my father who is a sign painter with his own company and I've done a sign on almost half the buildings in Detroit and i haven't given out "CRITZ" yet but i'm going to back off because like i said i respect my elder sign painters i don't want start a sign painters war i could probably learn something from you...
