Thank you for going over the features and settings. I haven't had the nerve to try this machine yet. I think it would be better to describe the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit rather than C and F.
@bwimtg
@bwimtg Год назад
there is also a "hidden feature" with the handpiece button. if you press it for at least 3 seconds, you can toggle to blower mode, where the heater is disengaged and you just get airflow at the set speed. i don't know if anyone finds it useful, but hey, now you know! i like the station quite a lot, have been using it for 3 years now

but I don't understand how one can speak of 1000W by looking at the dimensions of that transformer
@bwimtg

@@TheFelix63 the transformer is only supplying 24v for the blower and voltages for the control circuitry, the heater itself is running straight off of 240v. see 6:53

Was this feature removed in recent units? when I hold the button it just turns off.

I was looking for a Quick but found this one costing a lot less and gave it a try. I was not disappointed and the positive reviews are justified. If I *had* to nitpick something, it's that the buttons on the front panel feel cheap. That's it. Everything else is very nice. Just like some of the other commenters I used to use an Aoyue station and that was a toy in comparison, despite not being much cheaper. Desoldering even big packages takes seconds instead of minutes.

Got the same station a few weeks ago. They changed the firmware since the Rossman review, "long press of the button switches to cooling mode" feature is no longer present. The hose on my unit is 80cm long. 2 of those straight nozzles should have a structure inside that supposedly swirls the air so that you don't have to do it manually. The largest diameter nozzle is an adapter for older style nozzles. You need a better test case BTW, I had to use it at full blast to remove a memory chip from a GPU. The heater is 1KW but the average power at full airflow is around 700W.

Would you still recommend this station? Wdym by test case?
@galileo_rs

@@phr3ui559 It still works great but you can find cheaper alternatives that work just as well judging by the reviews. BEST clone seems to be good.

Nice review. I just got one in Nov 2023 after watching your review and others. The hose is longer than mentioned in your review. It measures just about 800mm, so this may be an upgrade/improvement from the model you tested. Thanks for all your reviews. Very informative and enjoyable to watch 😊

i get the impression that they keep the hose relatively short to match the airflow resistance / impedence against the bldc fan. this aught to be especially true for the atten, as it seems to have a slightly smaller / weaker fan than certain other hot air stations. however it may have a slightly wider diameter hose? to help compensate? i forget now... but i also feel that the hose on my bst-863 is similarly too short. there is another station out there with a longer hose more comfortable. but again i forget which one it is. but perhaps quick tr1300 can since it does have a beefier fan? i am not sure.... but have often wondered if it could be possible to retro fit a fan replacement of tr1300 to other hot air station models that were not originally designed for it. the replacement part cost however was quite high last i checked about 130 euros. so it is rather too much. maybe easier just to sell the old station and buy a whole new one. except i have become way too attached to this randomhacks ui upgrade for my station. with the potentiometer knobs and all that. such a joy to be adjusting with real dials

Nice review Steve.. And not a bad station it seems, well apart from the mentioned shortish hose. I do like the way the nozzle tips attach too. I would hope the sprung bearings are up to the job, & will last with all the heat cycles. Cheers mate John

"Display of messy code" LOL! I WISH my Quick had the ON/OFF button on the handle. When I have it on a stand for larger reflows, I have to use a magnet to stop it. Even a button on the station itself would have been a good idea.

i was using a cheap hot air station from a local retailer for years a Duratech Hot Rework Station and it would take a long time to get heat into anything at times i would give up trying to remove stuff. i admit i purchased this device becuase of seeing it on many different board repair yt channels. im glad i did. this things a F#$king beast compared to my old unit i felt like i was in the movie twister when i removed my first chip with it. i dont know why i did not buy one sooner

I currently use the Circuit Specialist CSI 825A and wish I had never bought it. It's noisy and low on air volume. But, at the time I liked the idea of the SMD vacuum pick up tool. Turns out, I very rarely use it. This looks a much better system. Thanks for sharing.

@sdgelectronics i have bought quick 861WD and when i plug that at my home, the bulb and light flicker. I carried away and tested in some more houses and have the same issue. So please is there any other way to solve it. Some of my friends suggest to use 15amp with 2000 watt stabilizer. Please reply me😢
