Thinkscan Max 2 has lifetime updates, but if you wish to purchase for example BMW coding functionality then you have to pay $50 per year. But read and delete faults and service reset functions listed all free.
Excellent video on this and the ThinkDiag 2. Are these pretty much the same other than getting the dedicated tablet with the MAX 2 or are their additional functionalities with the MAX2?
Great video! 2 years later and yes! they made some changes. One thing I noticed , IMMO, is in there working good. The cheaper Think scanner bluetooth cannot compare with this year offer,2023, Lifetime free updates. You do have to purchase your specific vehicle make for $50 per car. But thats fine if you charge it to the patron your serving. I am not promoting Amazon but if you apply for their credit card that you dont have to use you get $200 off, plus additional $60 coupon. after taxes and free shipping it down to $185.00
Thinkdiag 2 felt like an amazing device, I ended up getting it thanks to your video. But sadly, it wouldn't talk to the ECU on my 2005 Bentley Continental GT. I suppose some protocol issue. Other scanners can read the car fine. So I suppose Autel is the safest bet to avoid such hiccups, or should I consider this Max 2?
Looks like paying the 49.95/brand/year gets you activations/active tests and coding as well which isn't bad. These tools are getting cheaper and adding more features every year.
@@sdgelectronics It will be a nice educational tool for my vocational training institute. It seems good enough and cheap enough (no worries if it gets swollen).

Select what options you want to see, don't select all before you view live data. Because the process running will use the device memory. It is same for all scanners.
Especially when it doesn't do what they claim. I actually fell for it and bought one. Doesn't code replacement parts , even with the GM add on. Called their support line and they even said it doesn't do what they list. Do not buy. You can get a cheap Bluetooth reader and a free or cheap app for your phone that is better then this piece of junk. The only ones that review it and say it is great are the ones they pay.
Doesn't do all they claim, even with the GM add-on it will not do what they say. This is no better then a cheap code reader. These reviewers must be paid or never worked on a car.
It might be worth contacting support if you're having issues. The bidirectional controls and special functions are what set this apart from a basic code reader
I already contacted their so called support, they even admitted it will not do as advertised. The only big directional capabilities it has is to turn on and off simple things. I have been repairing cars for years and this is junk. People are better off buying a cheap bluetooth code reader over this. You were paid for this review, weren't you ?
