Why are you using an old version of the form? The new version is way more complex

SDI you are the only one stating it’s ok to still fill out 21 N1 answer and 21N2 leave blank others imply Leave 21N1and 21N2 blank

Everyone saying you leave 21 M1 blank apparently cannot read instructions as it states on page 5- Question 21.m. Immigration Status: If you are a U.S. citizen/national, it is appropriate to answer "No" to question 21.m.1. and to leave question 21.m.2. blank.

Hey FYI, on question 21, the section in the brackets actually says to leave 21n1 and 21n2 blank if you are a US citizen. The way they wrote question 21 its almost guaranteed to be miss marked.

I might suggest leaving sample forms on the counter of the 4473, then customers can take them home and read them at leisure, especially if they answered the form wrong give them a copy to take home. People are notorious for not reading thoroughly. I know they can get the forms online, but having one in paper in your hands would be a better learning experience for the customer.

You are not required to get a copy of the drivers license, background check or concealed carry, federally. Your state may require this but not all do. I agree it is a good idea but you made it sound like it is required. Also I use fast bound and I recommend it. It stops you from making all this mistakes.

I transfer firearms at Cabela's Some people do not even read the questions all the way through before answering and self deny A lot!!! Also make sure when you get your new Drivers License or CCW they will ask you to check it over for mistakes. Trust me... DO THAT because I see so many mistakes on CCW's and DL's or ID's like names or even streets misspelled or even numbers wrong.

Definition of US citizen as used on form 4473 is found in Title 5 united states code, a federal citizen. Then go read the Slaughter house court case to see the difference between a US citizen and a State Citizen. Then ask yourself, am I even required by law to do a background check since the 4473 asks are you either a US citizen or Resident alien individual.

I was mistakenly answer wrong this question and got denied. “Do you intend to sell or dispose of any firearms) listed on this form or any continuation sheets) to any person described in questions 21(b)-(1) or to a person described in question 21.m.1 who does not fall within a nonimmigrant alien exception?” I put “yes” I know that is my fault but I did not mean it. I have no intention to sell or dispose any firearms to anyone. At the section 20b: “Do you intend to sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm listed on this form and any continuation sheets) in furtherance of any felony or other offense punishable by imprisonment for a term of more than one year, a Federal crime of terrorism, or a drug trafficking offense?” I already answer “NO”. I don’t know why they ask the question 21n again. That is really confused me and therefore I got it wrong. You are right. When I read that question 21n: I understand it this way: (I buy this firearm on this list me myself. I intend to buy this firearm on the list, I do not want to buy anything illegal outside of this list. That’s why I put yes.) Is there a way to fix this? Please help me out. 🙄

I just went into a store to purchase a gun yesterday and explain to them I had a concealed carry permit. I didn’t have to do a background check. They refused and made me fill out the information anyway then they said I missed something and they failed it and told me to come back in 30 days.

I Think I Got Denied From That Last Question Because I Marked “No” When I Should’ve Left It Blank , How Soon Can I Try To Purchase again ?

I will be glad when the Supreme Court of the United States decides that form is unconstitutional and we are no longer required to fill it out or keep it on file.

What happens if you make mistake like filling the wrong box On a digital form 4473 and is there a waiting period till you can try again or does it completely prevent you from ever buying a firearm again?

Speaking as a customer, I'm truly sorry you have such stupid customers! I've bought...a certain number of...things one buys via FFL stores...and I think the longest wait I've "endured" is 20 minutes. Yes, put in your SSN! Yes, read every question even if you came in the prior day and filled out the same form! I always use the same store and they always point out the relevant sections to fill out and yeah, I'm glad they do! Interesting seeing the seller side.

Good video, BUT!!!!! Please update your 4473. Not all states just use your permit. In a lot of states, you still need to use your driver's license. Even you have one.

PS I really implore they use SS# on weekends as well as full middle names. I notice A lot more delays and researching on weekends bcuz I believe ATF is really busy and if ya do not give that info THEY have to go get it and I believe that they let those without full middle name and SS# on the form WAIT!!!! Research or delay so please unless you have CCW give your SS# and full middle name.

A form of entrapment.

Typically a 4473 is not a big deal to me. I can read. Not to mention I do a number of these each year (I collect guns). Of interest, I have noted the 4473 has changed over time. (They want to know what race is the purchaser. (Seems race is a big deal now.) I also note mistakes on the form by whoever does the form. For instance, the race question includes 'white' as a race. There is no white race. Caucasian, yes. No white. Which would not include mestizo. By the way, all the questions starting "Have you ever been convicted of..." should be 'no' in just about all cases. Some of the questions seem dumb. Like the above. But answering them wrong puts one in violation of perjury laws.

Heres some SDI soon to be a grad advice. Dont go to SDI, they have zero idea what they are doing. I have had 3 broken tools delivered to me. They don't give proper torque specs. They don't answer any questions correctly. I was actually told for the castle nut "don't twist it like a gorilla" instead of the actual torque. DO NOT GO TO SDI
