Head of international society of infectious disease, but not part of the covid Taskforce. We really need to put our biases aside, and appoint the right people for the job. So what if someone is from the opposition party? Don’t we want the best for Singapore?

While researching into different countries' approach in tackling the Covid-19 crisis, I came across this video by chance. When it comes to infectious diseases, a country should appoint the best available expert and talent, regardless of their political affiliation. Dr. Tambyah should be part of the national task force, period.

Found Dr. Tambyah's answers so direct and clear. Good to have someone like him in Parliament to contribute his inputs.

Dr John Thambyah was one of the Most Compassionate, Caring , Hard working, Brilliant doctors I have come across. He gave his service freely to the Residents of Little Sisters of the Poor and never charged the Religious who were under his care n I am 100% sure there must be many more unseen services he did God Bless the very Great doctor he was with the Kindest of Hearts Broke my heart when i heard he passed away God Rest His Soul

urggg I would vote for him! my permanent address is in Bukit Panjang but the govt is not doing anything to help oversea voters and unfortunately, i had to give up my vote this time because the nearest embassy is 6 hours away. WIth COVID-19, i'm not risking myself flying from LA to SF..... Tbh, as much as I loved the foreign ministry of Singapore as they try their best to represent Singapore aboard, PAP doesn't care about minorities issues, be it oversea voters or LGBTQ issues etc. I think i will persuade my parents to vote for alternatives but again......a lot of Singaporeans are afraid of changes.........

Agree with Dr Thambayah answer to Q17. Dr Sun Yat Sen was a doctor when he involved in politics; started Chinese revolution in late 19th Century and created the Republic of China in 1911.

Wow! SDP Paul Tambyah is amazing! He is definitely the best candidate for Bt Panjang as compared to PAP Liang Eng Hwa. If people criticise him for being a good speaker, then there is no difference with all the PAP candidates. As PAP also only know how to smooth talk and charged us with all the high taxes and fees! When we all talk about people loosing their jobs due to the pandemic, why does it have to be limited to low income groups or the foreign labour category? What about our very own home bred, industry respected, law abiding, tax paying Singaporean citizens who are being made redundant within the boundaries of his own country by a swarm of foreign competition, exported from EU and the rest. With the global economic pendulum shifting eastwards, the multinationals and other private sector enterprise in Singapore has been attracting professionals from EU & US, sometimes at the expense of senior Singaporean industry professionals who are forced to leave the country seeking suitable jobs only to experience unfair competition as most jobs in EU, Australia & US are protected for their own citizens. Since this is a rather small group of Singaporean professionals in their mid-fifties, considered affluent and savvy by others, therefore expected to fend for themselves which is a completely wrong assumption and extremely unfair to say the least because post COVID19, this group is quite capable of driving innovation within their respective industries. They also have the necessary vision and overview to mentor management of change within private & public sector organizations boosting business value, post COVID19 era. We seek urgent assistance from govt agencies to identify these professional communities, ( example : senior management in shipping, logistics, airlines industry), connect responsible stake holders, ensuring necessary protection & retention measures in place. .
