Wow! What a gorgeous area! And the paddle down stream was delightful! What a magical area with the otters and the beautiful serpentine/basalt mashup! It's so strange to see one side of the river all serpentine and the other basalt! It's like two different worlds! What an amazing way to take a break in your day! Thanks Nate! Love to the family too❤!
it is fun geology must literally be a fault line on a contact zone. they say the whole area was flows that the river and creeks have eroded into this terrain, also very close 15 miles , from nor cal's most active and " dangerous " volcanic fields , of Cobb mt. . so lots of hydro thermal activity, conical push up peaks and most that isn't basalt is serpentine, with Franciscan sand stone under it all , but here, basalt and serpentine collide . thanks for coming with ! : )
Hi Nate. Really enjoyed your adventure down the water. Boy that was a wonderful spot full of Serpentine and large asper's that you folks ended up at. "Quest On!"
this is where credence was singing about. just upstream from my little orchard, a little ways past the old ghost town where I found a gold coin once , and ..where the rope swings still hangs and the bull frogs still sing. long years since a day like this occurred. thanks for coming along . : )
I live very remote and then this is down dirt roads with old gates, outside of a town so small they don't have a population sign, never have to worry about crowds, commute is a little insane but it was a great place to raise the kids. thanks for wandering along ! : )
Nice to see all that water still flowing. I miss it out that way. Haven't been able to make it out that way in months now. Hopefully one of these days.thank you
