I love the sE V7. I have a few as well as the wireless capsule. I was excited when this was released and I've loved it since I got it. Its a great mic for a good price. Especially for all the options it has. I use the high pass filter and thats it. Thats how it sounds the best for my voice.

It’s a great mic I’ve struggled to find anyone say a bad word about it yet.

What's the self noise like when you activate the in-built preamp of Dynacaster ? I couldn't find this information anywhere

Great video with excellent points. I think this mic is going to have legs in the industry. I hope so, as I am a huge fan of the SE V7 and have several for live performance reinforcement. I think I may take a stab at a Dynacaster - it does indeed sound better (to me) than the SM7b.

Thanks scott I have heard lots of good things about the v7 series :) I feel you're a bit myself any dynamic that has some top end sounds better to me than an sm7b. i get why most people like it but i really tried with my 7b and just sold it 6 months later. Im looking forward to building my next studio as I plan to go heavy on the room treatment so hopefully I can use condensers again. Got a Audix SCx1-HC on route for some out of frame mic videos really lokking forward to testing it out.

I just ordered one. The thing that folks have to remember with a mic "in the middle" of the price range, the SM7B might work with your interface but unless it's a really quality interface, you're going to have to use an in-line preamp. Fethead, cloudlifter, whatever. IMO... the gain will not be clean enough so that adds another $100 (USD) to the $399 for the SM7b. IF this Dynacaster sounds as good as I've been hearing, it's one less piece in the chain and it makes mobile recording (which is what I'm doing with my podcast) a lot easier. Plus, it's a great guest mic for folks who may not know how to speak into a mic properly. I don't say that to be patronizing but some quests may not be great at controlling their plosives. I think this mic solves a lot of problems. I'm looking forward to trying it. Thanks for the videos. I spent a lot of time with them before I pulled the trigger.

I totally agree the sm7b wasn’t for me but am looking into getting another one just because you always get asked how does it compare😂 But yes when you account for only needing a cheap interface and no fethead it makes the dynacaster a great value. great point about guests my work have been asking me to do some work with the marketing department making some in-house webinars and some social media bits. And the early stress has been trying to get through to them that just because I’ve brought all my toys in doesn’t mean the person is going to be comfortable in front of camera and talk to a mic correctly. Hope you enjoy the mic though it’s going to be go to until I can afford and earthworks mic 😂

Thanks for jumping on with reviews of this one. I have one on pre-order. Distribution delays has it running 2 months behind. I really appreciate your thoroughness in delivering information & spoken word demonstrations. I have a feeling, the mic Bandrew used, is broken (a dud). With new products, an occasional dud is to be expected. Hope that is the case. Be well & keep having fun.

Hello, please can somebody help me? i just bought a dynacaster + wave xlr, and only with 30-45 db of gain it sounds very much of background noise, and my voice is not too lauder in comparicion with the background noise taken. It is my first experiencdesperatee with dynamic microphones, so i dont know if this is normal, to have that much background noise, like a coundersor my im really desperate be cause i dont know if something is wrong or maybe i recived something broken and i cant notice it be cause of my no expeirience with this king of mics. More details: at 30-40 db of gain (40 direct from wave xlr or even with +30db preamp with phantom power +10db in wave xlr.) and with the door and windows open, there can be captured by the microphone the sound of birds, and the sound of my dogs barking from arround 33 feet, or the sound of my fan in the room, from arround 6 feet away, no treated room. My voice is not really to lauder in this setting, so i dont undertand why mi mic has the behaaviour of my old usb condensor mic. I dont see no one in videos having this problem. All personn that review this mic do not have this problem, they are well listened, and with practicle 0 background noise ¿Some body knows what is happening? ¿should i ask for the waranty of my mic or audio interface? I uploaded samples of audio in my ch nnel, I beg somebody help me to know if something in my audio setup is broken please.

@@jcap8391 yea you can get right up on this mic if you want that baddy proximity effect. but if you’re not good at controlling your plosives I would use the extra foam filter that’s included.

Hi. My current setup is a rode podmic running through a Scarlett. I want to upgrade but my budget is limited and it's down to a Procaster vs the Dynacaster. Which one of these two would you suggest for spoken word podcasting?
@thefullsetup
@thefullsetup 2 года назад
Both are great and I’m a big fan of both you can pick procasters up for very good price second hand. So if your budget is tight the procaster is the right choice but I would spend the little extra on the dynacaster as you can run your Scarlett gain much lower and tbh I prefer the sound of the dyna over the rode.

How exactly did you fit the RE320 into the PSM1?
@thefullsetup
@thefullsetup 2 года назад
Bit of a faff you have to pop the screw bit out the bottom that’s used for rode mics, a good sized flat head screwdriver and some patience will pop it off. Just don’t push it off towards anything fragile monitor to etc as it can shoot off. Then the little nub on the re320/20 where the included mic clip fits will stop you from a fitting it but you can either pull it out or as I’ve done push it in doesn’t effect xlr connection at all 😁 The mic should now fit but you need something to secure it so I use a 25mm barbell clip you can get off Amazon.
