Today is a beautiful day and I am going fishing!! I use light gear and enjoy some amazing sport on an inshore reef with fish after fish after fish. I talk about the method and show you how to catch these fish too. I keep one healthy fish to feed my family.
Here are links to some of the tackle that I used in this video. I hope it helps.

I have been watching your channel for a long time, I have become a sort of "expert" even though I haven't gone fishing. I bought a rod and went fishing and yesterday I caught my first fish. The knowledge I picked up here really helped.

It's an addictive hobby. Beware. I caught my first fish 10 years ago, now have more rods and gear than I like to count! Nothing beats the thrill of feeling that tension on the line. Have fun.

Another great day shared with us thanks. I know that I've said this before but when I did most of my bass fishing, in the late 1950s early 1960s when there weren't any limits, our approach to conservation was completely different to nowadays. Our ideal size bass was 30 -35 cm, ie pan size. Anything larger would be put back, we'd never have kept a 45cm fish. By the way we ate wrasse. What a shame that dogfish don't seem to like lures!

I have never done any sea fishing John, but I watched one of your videos last year and am now hooked( s'cuse the pun) I watch each one as they come out and have even started to eat grilled cod and haddock and love `em !. I used to love my river fishing but now too old and infirm to go anymore so it's all second- hand on RU-vid. If I'd known how interesting sea fishing was, I would probably have given it a try all those years ago, but hey ho. Keep up the entertainment, make sure you and your family stay well and best wishes.

Those algae wouldent happen to be "mareld"(Noctiluca scintillans), we had quite a bloom of it recently, making the water almost chocolate colored during the day and glowing at night. Its not uncommon up here but it was far earlier than normal, more common closer to fall when the water has warmed through the entire summer. Anyways, always a pleasure to be on the boat with you.

Those rough seas remind me of the first time being in very rough seas piloting and tending our urchining boat. I mentioned to my diver friend I was a little nervous about capsizing. He said, 'Don't worry, you'll get beaten to a pulp and thrown out before it capsizes.". That was encouraging words... I had some hairy situations where my heart was in my mouth. We called it 'white knuckling' because sometimes all you can do is hang on tight. (we were limited by open days and not a quota so we were 'forced' to go out on some very rough days. I am convinced it is potentially dangerous to regulate the harvest that way.)
