Fantastic!!! What an amazing trip and wonderful footage for us to join you. I will watch this more than once, thatnis for sure. You were a very enjoyable couple to follow. Keep on making the best of life 💞 From your novice but moving up, paddler, Jewels
thanks for a great video. Really like the multiple camera views, your music, the storyline and two very good 'on screen' likeable people . Do more vids please!
Awesome.... thanks so much for the inspiration! I'm new to sea kayaking and the passion you both shared with us I know I've found my new retirement passion.....Cheers To You Both - and you may see us soon !!
Thanks Guys thoroughly enjoyed watching your journey!! My family and I are just getting into kayaking Hopefully have an adventure like yours to share from down here in Australia
A very enjoyable and inspirational movie! You nailed it when it comes to keeping the watcher interested all the way! Kayaking season is about to get underway up here in the Nordic countries and your way of telling a story while showing the beauty of nature that you get to see from a kayak will be truly inspirational when I try to document our trips here in the waters around the Åland Islands in the Baltic Sea! Thank you for a very enjoyable hour and a half!
Hi, I like it very much, wonderful. Was on Sardengna 3 times with family, east coast and south west for the beaches and cliffs, doing some caving and hiking. It is high time to return !!! As I´m paddling all year round on the rhine river and smaller streams for training, day trips and some longer trips with tent, food and all gear, I´m really curious to do such a long trip once. Happy to see it is possible, so I dream on ... Hope to see you, Ahoi
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful video. The narration and scenery were fantastic. I hope that someday I find someone like Millie to share my sailing / kayaking experiences with. She has a great sense of adventure and a fun playful side.
I just loved your video, you two make a great couple. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us, I think I can speak for the rest of us here when I say..."when can we expect to see the next adventure video?" :-)
Nice video! Makes me remember our circumnavigation of Sardinia in September 2016. Funny to see some of same campsite we were using. We also had a lot of wind, that's we usually got up at 5 o`clock in the morning and started paddling.
Wow what a great video. I honestly didn't think I'd watch the whole thing but with the great editing, storytelling and music I couldn't really get round to stopping. An absolutely fantastic job :) Can't wait to get out on the water myself now. Sardinia seems beautiful by the way.
trip of a lifetime, amazing. and having your companion. im jealous. im in florida and am thankful for all the kayaking opportunities here, but that trip, and your film, was amazing. thank you from south florida!
Amazing!! Thank you for making this video! Sardinia is on my bucket list and now I definitely want to do some kayaking there! I just love kayak camping, I usually go on the coast of Maine, USA (I’m from Canada). See you there one day!
Such an inspirational film, so envious of your life style, but it is a dream of mine to progress to sea kayaking soon along with my wife so just maybe Sardinia might just be the place to start the next adventure in our life, if we get half a much out of it as you both we will have done well.
Wonderful wonderful adventure! I am italian, i love sardinia, and you guys made a great thing! First video of yours that i watch and i'm already subscribed 🙂👍
Hey Taran, I found it by accident and was great to see you lovely ones again. Hope you are still in Sardinia with the boats. I always dream of coming down again. Hope you got rid of the kidney stones! Warm greetings form Copenhagen
Hi Mauricio, lovely to hear from you :) We're both well and living in the UK at the moment but we're definitely heading back to Sardinia next year! Would be lovely to see you again and I'll try and arrange another ladies yoga group for you ;)
thanks, enjoyable video! I'm located in Sardinia too, Sassari... I was paddling with my Klepper around Capo Caccia, Porto Ferro, Argentiera... it was nice to see those places in your video too! Maybe one day we could paddle together! :-)
A good video describing an epic trip. If you do another one could you add some more technical details... is wild camping allowed? How much water or how many days food were you carrying? What did you use to cook? Any issues refueling? If you did it again would you choose a different season or reverse your route? I am used to doing 7 -21 day trips in Turkey and am often very remote
Hi Sally, campings generally ok if you pitch late and leave early and try to avoid busy spots. Some places though are so wild that you could leave your tent up all day. We carried about 25 litres of water between us and its easy to get water at most marinas though we sometimes had to walk inland for water. Food wise we just ate normal food making chillis and curries from tins of beans or chick peas. Theres plenty of supermarkets for shopping. For fuel we used gas and just resupplied the once at a shop I knew in Alghero. Hope that helps ;)
Hey Taran, great video! The scenery was beautiful and I was amazed by how much happened in your trip around the island. Am looking forward to more videos soon! What do you think of blow up kayaks for beginners?
Beautiful journey! I just made one on my own, along the Spanish coast (also on RU-vid). You´re lucky you can travel with the two of you! Thanks for the video. Maybe we will meet on the water some day...
I exclusively used a GoPro Black 7 during my three week trip. In my other shorter videos it most times is a mix between the GoPro and a Handy cam type Canon FX 100 camara. I am very curious to how you recorded your great film?
Thanks for the Kayasper, much appreciated. Im looking for a device to use, and was very impressed with your vids. Very inspiring, keep up the good work, from a fellow Welshman👍
Iv'e been going to Sardenia for the last 20 years and love it,I live near Venice now but still get there once a year. Wonderful video you are two lucky sods, just a quick question ...did you folks ever get to use your helmets ?
What a beautiful adventure Taran and Melissa had, i was glued for the full 90 minutes, and that was throughout the superbowl February 2021. Your a lovely couple although Taran you seem to make the decisions not letting Melissa say to much, partnership means sharing equally, its just an observation not a criticism You both did brilliantly and i thoroughly enjoyed your Advertisement for your holidaying business, and 10/10 for your ingenuity, im in my 60's, bad health through military career, had i been slightly younger and healthier i'd be booking you for a kayak around Sardinia for sure. Take care Stay safe and keep it lit.👍 my friend's.
A very hard work/ long video. Your commentary voice is perfect. You should audition for "Getaway" voice over. P.S. the wind is very high in some scenes, yet somehow I can still hear your voice clearly. What camera are you using here? 9:09 I cant believe it was 6 years ago, yet the camera controls the wind noise so well.
I am sardinian kayaker and sailor. u made a very nice video. not easy to be a good storyteller.ans your pronounciation of the sadinian names of places was not too bad.. will u come back?
Hi Giorgio, glad you liked the film :) We're currently living in Sardinia and taking people kayaking around the Olbia region. Glad my pronunciation wasn't too bad, still need to work on Buggerru though ;)
Quite simply the best kayak expedition video on youtube! Well done you two! Just one quick question, how do you charge your camera batteries on a trip like this? Or do you just take a load of batteries? Cheers!
Hi Christopher, we're glad you liked the video :) With regard to the batteries I take some spare (as I have some) but mostly I prefer battery packs with usb connections as these work on all my cameras and phone ;) P.S. we're just working on the Corsica expedition movie, watch this space :)
Hi John, typically we stay quite close in as we want to see as much of the coastline as possible. Saying that we did skip across the bay of Oristano which is a 6 mile crossing, so you could say we were three miles from shore ;)
Hi Diesmy, to be honest I've no idea, we never checked. I just know that other paddlers who have done the trip can do it in a month if the weather is good ;)
You should do something with Beau Miles. Great paddling skills and great story telling skills ( and film making).... your combined ideas would be unsurpassed. and... a posh Brit, laid back Aussie, and unbeakable (I suspect Saffa?) PLease dO iT1 Do you have a website?
Mate i really wanted to watch this but the music is awful. You two present very well and technically the filming is top notch.. just next time ask that mate of yours who's good with music to help you out a bit :)
