Large shoals of big sea Garrick (Leervis) begin their journey swimming North with the sardines towards the spawning grounds. Using ultra light river spinning tackle we manage to hook up with a few of these good size 'sea monsters' which can't resist the bucktail jigs cast at them. These clean fighting silver slabs push the light tackle to the limit.
The Garrick follow the 'greatest shoal on earth' (sardines) up the East coast of South Africa past Port st Johns northern Kwa Zulu Natal and here we intercept them at our favourite spot on the Wild Coast. #angling #boat #lighttackle #spinning #amia #garrick #lures #topwater #transkei #wildcoast #licheamia #bucktailjig
