Just a heads up, there are a lot of non-casual players who have mastered the pvp elements of the game. So don't be surprised if you sink and lose your loot a lot in the start.
I really love your channel! This was a great review. I love Sea of Thieves to the point that I think my dream game would be a Sea of Thieves single-player game with a great story. The feeling of exploration and beauty is just unmatched imo
@@its.me.jack1216 It’s all down to your play style. Some can, some can’t, I personally do if I’m on my own because we’ll… your on your own, for me that’s with any game, it’s more fun with friends. Even if it’s a single-player campaign game, it would still be better with friends Just my opinion
This looks really good, seen it before but I’ve never played it. I do love the ability to just wander between islands in the open world and I will definitely consider buying it!
@@GhostAdmiral pretty good, my first voyage I got attacked and died but besides that things have been alright. Haven’t been much of a pvp player so far
I've been playing this game for 3 years and haven't became bored once, the problem with newer players is that their incentive is to just 'become pirate legend' and they rush it. I only got Pirate Legend a few months ago because I took time to enjoy the game for what it is and not to grind. The newer players just sweat every achievement, quest and title and get bored very fast. It's an 11/10 game in my opinion and also one of your points made no sense to me, the thing of how 'the tall tales had no / little / bad backstory' point isn't really true. The amount of lore behind things is absurd if you read the lore-book or listen to the dialogue of npcs carefully.
100% agreed here! New players really seem to rush content which I understand… I mean… it’s normal, you buy a game and you want to do the content. The trouble with it is due to the nature of Sea of Thieves, there will never be an _endgame_, so to speak.
its better than i expected thought it was just gonna be a pvp bloodbath but its not! quite chilled actually, just how i like it. xbox Control pad works well on pc.
Just so you know theres tons of back storys for everyone and everything in the tall tales but it's mostly in the lore books and u have to get into the lore to understand it and all of the tall tales
The lack of progression and nothing worthwhile to unlock was the instant killer for me. Felt like I had no reason to keep playing. Could have had an in depth cosmetic customisation that wouldn't have affected the online. Oh well
While a balanced online is good...an implementation like GTA online would be more enticing for me at least! Just a free for all where those who play the most have the best stuff! Better cannons, more types of ships, gun customisation maybe!
@@AverageGameReviews I agree completely, just add a safe mode option for the newbies and all would be good! There's only so much you can do with no growth.
Things can certainly be completed Solo in the game. With that said, as somebody who has played this game for over 600hrs, I would 100% recommend new players not start by themselves. I cannot overstate how much more enjoyable and hilarious your experience will be if you join up with one other person and you both start brand new.
@@PoncesPoint I'd recommend the official Discord server. You can matchmake with a random person but it would be much better to look for someone your age. And I'd recommend joining an experienced player if you feel overwhelmed. Maybe a few sessions with a friend where neither of you knows what's going on might be good but at least one session in a galleon with a competent captain will do a lot for your skill and wallet.
You dont need friends to find a good crew, if you join a sea of thieves discord you can easily find competent crews who would love to help you. This is what i did and i love the game
I am one of those people who thought the game was boring but now returning and learning it all, I love the game! I've spent over 120 dollars already on skins, but worth it :D
All my friends are more FIFA and COD players. I like to mix it up and play games like this now and then. Worth the time playing solo or is it really better with friends? Fantastic review btw. Got my sub 🤙🏻
Same. Although most of my friends dont have a pc so they cant play with me. One of my good friends does and he likes these games as well but the other ones that do have a pc only play shooter battle Royale game which i think they should expand the genre of games they play. Me and my friend will get this and i will try to convince my other friends to get the game and i hope that my friends without a pc will get a pc so we can play with them
My only problem with the new update is the fucking ocean crawlers. They spawn on you every two minutes and the big ones REQUIRE ammo to kill and take 2 point blank blunderbuss shots MINIMUM. It’s ridiculous.
The tall tales are somewhere around 20-30 hours, and most can do most of these if not all without getting bored. Plus voyages and just messing about, i'd say you have 20-40 hours at least! Your mileage may vary - I know some people who get bored quickly and others who have completed every possible quest and side quest having played for hundreds of hours!
i still just cant get into the game. i like open world games, i like pirate games i like pvp and i like boats but for some reason i just hate the game. i cant put my finger on it.
PvP = no I love the theme, mechanics and PvE of this game (from what I've seen), but I hate PvP. No amount of lore or good fights with AI will compensate for being possible sunk and looted from all my stuff by a bunch of toxic players.
