Shakespeare ugly stick was my first rod that I got as a kid. My dad bought it in 1979 and then I got it 1998. In this video am trying it out to see if it still works, will it hold for a big sea trout? lets see.
Can't beat a ugly stick!! It was the first rod I ever bought too!! And since then I've had most of my biggest fish with it! I have a 10ft spinning and it's still alive and going well maybe six years later!! And I've abused it!! Great video and what a great seatrout!!! 👌👍😁🎣
@@daniel.sportfishing Well it still helped you catch that big seatrout so it can't be too bad!! Ya I imagine it would be great for a small river!! Ya they make great quality rods! Can't fault them! 👌👍🎣
That´s very kind of you! I never really reflected over the availability of sea trout fishing. Actually, I hardly ever fished at all since a was a kid. This year I felt an urge to take up fishing so I bought some equipment, primarily aiming at perch in lakes and canals. One day in late september, the guy in the tackle shop started talking about sea trout fishing. Clearly, he was very passionate about it. He promoted a reel and rod combo that was offered at favourable price. I got home and watched youtube about s t fishing, then I went back to the tackle shop the next day and bought the combo, waders and lures. Only one day remained of the s t season (protected from oct 1st where I live) I went to a location I ´d been recommended, but there was too much wind and waves so I went to the opposite side of the bay and managed to catch a couple of little sea trouts. Now Ím waiting for the the spring to arrive. Season premiere is jan 1st, so I might not wait til spring. I realize there ´s so much for me to learn about temperature, wind speed and direction, waves, clarity of the water, air pressure, tide, position of the moon and so on. Do you have any general advice to a rookie as to the choice of location and time of day with regard to the above mentioned factors. or other tips concerning baits, fly and bombarda, or basically anything. If going to Gotland, which are your favourite spots depending on wind, and what time of the year is the best?
There are some beautiful moments in fishing like this, which are hard to describe. The sea trout seem to get never tired at all, those runs...I can see all your flashbacks you had gone thru in a couple of seconds with this rod. Beautiful moments! Well done again! 😎
Haha, i try to keep it in the videos the followers but somtimes it looks weird when I say “ohh follow” and you see nothing on the screen it would have been nice to have a camera from above so you that watch see it too. Thanks for watching 👊
