We're so pleased to present Sea Witch today! Check out Eli making the soap, which is part of our June release, and a tribute to one of our favourite Disney villains! (We bet you can guess which one pretty easily!) Today's soap has a beautiful purple and black colour theme, topped with a touch of shimmery gold. All of it made from cold process soap, of course! (This is a soap maker RU-vid channel, after all!)
The scent is called "Sea Salt & Cypress" and it performed absolutely beautifully! What's more, it smells amazing! Classy and fresh, the way that we're sure a sea witch would smell like!
This is an appropriate soap recipe for intermediate-to-advanced soap makers. Because there are so many techniques involved, it's best to get a bit of experience before trying to make this soap at home! We're texturing soap layers, doing a drop swirl with soap and using cold process soap embeds. So not the most straightforward project!

OUR BASIC SOAP RECIPE
40% olive oil
40% coconut oil
10% sweet almond oil
5% castor oil
5% cocoa butter
(We use a 5% superfat)
The correct amount of lye & water (please use a calculator!! Our fave is Soapee.)
We always mix coconut milk powder into our oils at a rate of 2 Tablespoons per kilogram. We also use sodium lactate in our cooled lye water at a rate of 2 teaspoons per kilogram of oils in the recipe. So for example, if we are making a batch with 2 kilograms of oils, we would stir in 4 Tablespoons of coconut milk powder into the oils and 4 teaspoons sodium lactate into the cooled lye water.
