I just ordered aqua marine deck for the front and rear only. I did because my boat is ceramic and slick. So I don’t want to fall on my ass. I’m not to happy with any of the companies. They’re flaky, not very helpful and or show any care to making your order right. Really upset actually. I’ve waited months for all of them and they only send bits and pieces of what they have and can’t even send a proof. I hope mine turns out well and is prepped well. Our boat is used in the AZ heat so now I’m scared :/

@@RaceMentally good luck. At least you can remove it if it is a complete disaster. In the chance that it sticks it’s fantastic. Very grippy and a dream to walk on.

I do have a video of putting it down at just the helm and also a few other key areas. I can’t remember what playlist it’s under probably boat Projects. Anyway I’ve had really good luck with the areas that are not getting baked by the sun every day. Good luck!!

Agreed. I love the look and feel but it just dies not stick. And for the money you could get some very high quality snap in carpet.

For sure the non skid did contribute. If you grind/sand down the texture to smooth, clean with acetone to bone dry and apply the product it’ll likely last for decades. Thanks for the comment!

In my case they just pealed up leaving the sticky mess behind. But if it’s anything like mine, they pulled up easily.

It was mineral spirits. Sorry about that a couple other people have commented that I said paint thinner the reason why is because I use mineral spirits exclusively as paint thinner.

I found that putting it in key places like under your feet at the helm or in place of a cooler hold down seems to work well it’s the areas that are exposed to direct sunlight that peel up in my experience. I always want to stress some people love this product and it never gives them a problem thanks for the comment I’m with you I would never put it on my boat everywhere.

I guess you never pissed in the water

This was installed by the manufacturer and I hate to bad mouth any product, but my experience was awful. Additionally seadek told me too bad- out of waranty. Only 2 years old. You’d feel differently I’m sure if this was your boat. Not sure you have to be very smart to install it either lol. Clearly if applied correctly there’s a better chance of it adhering. Glad yours is working out. I’d never get the stuff on a boat again. I do use it in the bottom of lockers and really like it. Thanks for the comment.

@@Murfdigidy some people love it and I totally respect that. It is nice stuff. I really wish I was one of the people that have never experienced a problem! My dogs have a hard time on the deck with their nails and sea deck would totally fix that. I’d never put it back lol but I guess when it works it works.

Me too. Love the look, never experienced it hold up on textured decking.

The stuff is junk in the standing sun, looks up light amplification.. I spent $3700 to have my boat done only to pull it off a month later.

There were bilge diapers in the water soaking all of it up.

There were also bilge diapers draped down the transom. Mostly to protect the hull, but still absorbed to oil base products. Anyway, good call out. I really should have included the precautions in the video. I really didn’t even think of it.

Well ur video supposed to show how easy. Most people buy seadek only see about how good it is. My boat has non-skid flow coat floor with carpet on top. Seadek surely won't stick well with the little high and lows. My boat is covered so seadek will last. But unless it'll last until I die. Is not good enough. Even if it last 10 years. By that time u are older, fatter, less healthy, life is busier with family work. I cant see myself doing that, not to swim platform but the entire deck. Or pay someone to do it maybe depends on if money comes easy. But clip in carpet is good enough for me, keep clean but sometimes fish guts is unavoidable. Fish gut hose down okay on carpet. Twice a year lift up carpet and pressure wash under. Too easy. When carpet do brake the old carpet is template. Already 5 years and like new.

The product actually separated from the adhesive in many areas therefore it is actually a problem with the product. Maybe they have fixed this I have no idea. I agree it was not put down correctly and I also agree there are boats with no problems.

@@bobbygfl That still does not indicate an issue with the product. If the surface was not properly prepared, the adhesive will break down, causing it to separate from both the boat deck and the flooring material itself. The adhesive is absorbent, and will pull up any chemicals/oils on the boat deck and cause it to break down on both sides.

I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying. The adhesive layer sticks to the deck. The sea deck comes up and it is completely dry. Not sticky. All of the adhesive is still sticking to the deck. The product separated from the adhesive. The deck was properly prepped in this case and the adhesive did not stick properly to the back of the foam product. I understand that there are people that have had this for many many years with no problem, however, this was my experience.

The oil based chemicals were kept within the paper towels. The cleaning solutions are within reasonable limits. Every effort was made to minimize any impact to the environment. I live here. The last thing I want to do is kill the marine life under my dock.
