Seadoo Supercharger oiling upgrade, 08+ nozzle conversion.

The 05 RXP I've been rebuilding uses the old supercharger oiler setup that doesn't direct oil into the shaft, which seems more prone to failure than the newer 08+ style oiling system.
There is a fairly simple way to change from the old splatter lubrication method used on the 07 and earlier models to the newer 08+ directional nozzle.
It requires purchase of the nozzle, as well as tapping and drilling some holes to support the new oiler setup.
I suppose it would also be possible to get a newer PTO cover and go that route, but I already had a good PTO cover that didn't have scored oil pump surfaces so I opted for this route.

Great video! With the 2008 setup can you still use the supercharger from the 2005 RXT215? It doesn't appear to have the same oil "drain" hole within the housing on the 2005 version when compared to the 2008 supercharger. Thanks for any input!

I am running it on my 05 RXP215, and have done the upgrade on multiple customer skis that do not have the drain hole with nothing but positive results, I am however looking into making a jig to drill that hole on older housings, but the oil nozzle has no effect on that as the oil that goes in the end of the shaft comes out under the gear which is solidly outside the housing, the bearings just get splash lubrication essentially. My understanding is that the drain hole that is drilled on the 08+ housings is there purely to allow any excess oil to drain away from the bearings to help prevent it seeping through the front shaft seal and into the intake, as well as potentially reduce drag ever so slightly.

With or without this, you can run the 215 or 255 charger, and I believe the 255 is the 137mm wheel. This is primarily for longevity of the SC bearings and clutches. If you want to run a 300hp SC, you'd need a whole new pto housing as well as flywheel gear and such, as there is a different oil drain setup and tooth count on the 300hp chargers. If you stick around, my seadont is getting a 255hp SC along with the supporting mods to turn it into a 255hp rxp, I just need to get a chance to get some good baseline 215 performance numbers before I go too wild with the plans.
