Hi Everyone
This is the Seagull Harmon Rocket with a Saito FG-14 installed. This particular engine is a four stoke gasoline engine. I'm running a Master Airscrew 3 bladed 12 X 8 prop, 2 ½ Tru Trun spinner, 10 oz fuel tank, can fly for 30 Min, six Hi-tech Servos, two 2300maH JR NiMH batteries, one powers the ignition and one powers the receiver and the landing gear legs are from the Hangar 9 RV-8. The model performs fantastic and is a joy to fly. I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for viewing another one of TMRC videos..Happy Flying..

So I know this was 12yrs ago! And it's 2024 now. I have the same engine and I was curious as to what spinner you used and what adapter was used?

@knockoffs Sure All great questions The spinner is a 2.5 tru trun spinner and the fuel tank is 10 oz . Thanks for your support and kind words it makes it nice to know you enjoy this hobby as much as I do.. Tim

I'm running in a Saito gas FG-11 for a Pushy Cat, and REALLY like the way this engine behaves. I'm getting > 10,000 rpms with an 11 x 7" triple prop, and the engine has good power, a nice throttle curve, and uses very little gas. Wonderful! (Tucson Radio Control Club, tucsonrcclub.net).

I congratulate your plane is very nice I want to know how many rpm your engine has a three-bladed propeller 12x8. Do not pass 9200 rpm, fine with that prop? The engine has given no problems? we have one in our club and has problems .. Thanks, Jose Velasquez Colombia

Not really sure where you can get one I think Horizon Hobby many have parts for this plane you could check there. This plane is out of production wish it was not.. Good Luck and thanks for commenting ..Tim

Ouch! have just checked and in the UK from my local shop the engine costs £399.99. That's out of my reach at the moment. It's a shame cos I love how well it sounds.

Nice job !!! she looks and seems to fly great. two questions. You said in the video what size prop, But can you tell me where you got the spinner, and what size fuel tank are you using ??? 8 or 10 oz i would guess ??? Keep up the videos. Its great to watch other people who are also totally obsessed with this hobby !!! LOL

Do you have a description how the hoses extend from the tank also from krumptappen and how you thought it, since I only have the engine with methanol and there is pressure in the tank. The hose must surely be a curve on top of the tank to the fuel will not run away. Have bought a Saito FG14C where I want to mount it on the Rocket III

The best I can describe is the hoses come from the center of the tanks since its gas, that is the F-G14 we are talking about.You can Tee off the sam line that goes to carb and tank for fill.. Have the other line for drain. If its a glow engine it would be different ..Hope this helps ..Thanks Tim

Hi Tim, I decided to swap the 82 for an fg-14c instead. Could you please tell me how much weight you added to balance it out. Any other tips with regard to the installation? Is it a clean fit? How about the throttle arm?

I did not have to add any wait,, I used the Engine Ignition and receiver batteries by moving them Fwd or Aft. You will have to cut the cowl a little to get it to fit were you want it. But ,all in all the installation is not bad, just take your time and fit everything as much as possible before you make any cuts.. Good luck your going to have fun with this engine plane combo.. I've managed to get one of these, reduced by 25%, and plan to put it into a Sebart Sukhoi 50 size. Several years on, any advice ? did the airframe hold up to the vibration ?

I have the hanger 9 rv8 its a little bigger than your plane.. have access to one of these motors... how is yours on power?? are you over powered under powered or just right??

Could this type of plane be equipped to be more of a dedicated 3D flyer, capable of effortless hover? Would it be too heavy? I really am craving a Gasoline plane cuz I never got to build one, when I was much younger. I would really love a MODERATE size plane but would absolutely love a Gas engine with wet sump, that does not require you to mix oil with your fuel. I would think that exhaust buildup would be so much less. Are there smaller gas engines with oil sump? I think if you have gasoline plane, you gotta add the smoke unit.

Is 10 minutes all it takes to break-in a Saito motor? Inexpensive motors take a whole LOT longer than that! I suppose it's the quality of Saito engineering that makes the difference?

Seagull makes nice looking planes, unfortunately they 're a little bit heavy, my .91/1.20 Yak 54 weighs 4 kilos at 1.65 metre wingspan....

I have not ordered yet because it is out of stock in the UK until mid-November, also wingspan 50.4 inches is not possible here in Denmark. I have energy Saito FG 14 C Gas. Is it possible to write on Facebook about you? want pictures of Gas tank etc.
