I saw comments commenting on the mother being *"thicc"* and I was weirded out from it because I thought it would be mostly about the same size of the pup (if just *tad* bigger). The moment I saw that large *mass* crawling out of that hole from the ice I just about shat myself.
When people ask, "What inspires you?" I show them this video. Then I proceed to detail and emphasise the mother's determination to climb out of that ice hole even when she is so lörge, and how much of a struggle it was to reach and tend dearly to her child - though she still did it.
I absolutely cannot get over the way they move on land. It's just too perfect. And the noises? Ah, I adore Weddell Seals. All seals really, but especially these adorable goofs.
‘Dear diary, i lost count on how many days that I have been in quarantine and nothing is more interesting than watching a seal pup calling for its mum now’
Seals on land always look and sound like they're struggling so hard to exist. I think being born as a seal is punishment for some great sin in a past life.
