In January 2017, a Task Force comprising of U.S. Navy SEALs from SEAL Team 6, reinforced by a team of Emirati Commandos, was inserted onto a Landing Zone in Western Yemen. After touching down, this Force moved off on foot to cover the 8km to their objective, which was a compound in the small village of Al-Ghayil. Almost immediately, however, the mission began to unravel. This is the story of that fateful, and largely forgotten, operation.

Appreciate the intel, Sir. Just goes even further, in detail, to prove that soldiers and operators are not necessarily heroes, despite (for the majority of them, at least at present, while the sharp tip of the spear is being reconfigured into a gender-weird self-hatred that drives away patriots, and invites even more murderous perverts), their mostly undoubted valor. Following orders and executing objectives is their main mission, but when, as is all too often, even almost always the case, they are used unwisely as expensively and easily expended pawns, it is often a waste. "Not though the soldier knew Someone had blundered. Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die." But when it's not blunder, but nasty murder? When they are used as agents of murder against noncombatants, especially children, it is an unblottable sin. When they are employed thusly, it demeans their oaths, and casts not only doubt and discouragement among their own ranks, and the civil populace that supports them, but on the whole business. Would it be such a shame, if the cashiered cadres who sensibly refused the C-19 shots, regrouped, trained auxiliaries, and deprived the current masters who so degrade us all, of their commands? Hypothetically, of course.

AQAP is a persistent threat to Americans around the world. Its been behind numerous plots to kill Americans such as: 1. 2009 Christmas Day "Underwear Bomber": In December 2009, AQAP attempted to carry out a terrorist attack on US soil when Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a Nigerian national, tried to detonate explosives hidden in his underwear aboard a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit. The attack was ultimately unsuccessful due to the device's malfunction, but it highlighted AQAP's ambition to target American interests directly. 2. 2010 Cargo Plane Bomb Plot: AQAP was also responsible for the October 2010 plot to send parcel bombs hidden in printer cartridges to the US aboard cargo planes. The plot was foiled after intelligence agencies intercepted the packages in the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. This incident illustrated AQAP's continued pursuit of innovative and sophisticated tactics to attack the US. 3. 2015 Charlie Hebdo Attack: While not directly targeting the US, AQAP claimed responsibility for the January 2015 attack on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris. The attack, which killed 12 people and injured several others, was carried out by two brothers who were reportedly trained by AQAP in Yemen. This incident demonstrated AQAP's ability to inspire and train individuals to carry out attacks in Western countries, thereby posing an indirect threat to the US. 4. Inspire Magazine: AQAP has published an English-language online magazine called Inspire, which provides guidance on how to conduct attacks against the US and its allies. The magazine has included instructions for making explosives, as well as suggestions for potential targets. By disseminating this information, AQAP aims to inspire homegrown terrorists who may not have direct ties to the organization but share its extremist ideology. 5. Online radicalization: AQAP has also used social media and other online platforms to disseminate propaganda and recruit followers. The group has called for "lone-wolf" attacks by individuals who may be radicalized online, making it difficult for law enforcement to predict and prevent such incidents. The 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, carried out by two brothers who were reportedly inspired by AQAP's online content, is an example of the potential impact of online radicalization. The ongoing conflict in Yemen has provided AQAP with a safe haven to regroup, plan, and launch attacks. The group has been able to exploit the chaos in Yemen to establish a stronghold in the country, from which it can train fighters, stockpile weapons, and potentially plot attacks against the US and its allies. The affiliation with al-Qaeda provides AQAP with access to resources, expertise, and a broader network of like-minded individuals and organizations, enhancing its capabilities and threat level. I don't know what you're smoking, but AQAP is most definitely a threat to the United States and Americans regardless of where they are in the world. Better to deal with the problem over there than bring it over here, which would only lead to an even greater loss of civil liberties and freedoms.

@@michaelporter1924 It's about proportion with AQAP. It should stay as CIA/Specops territory, and then only when it involves the U.S. Regular military shouldn't be involved. And as for declining. I meant the ops that *aren't* morally justified and of which we hear only years later (if we're lucky). Of course no soldier is going to refuse legal orders, even if they feel it's morally hazy, it's their job. For example the couple of operations which were done solely on the request of Halliburton. Or if we go further back, the shit the U.S did in south America. You know, shady shit with the goal of making someone richer.

this entire operation was a mess & became politicized in the worst way possible. the mission objectives were unclear & the government's lack of transparency surrounding it concerning. how so many children were killed is hard to comprehend. couple that with the death of a SEAL, along several injured. and from everything i've heard, very little intelligence of value was actually recovered. makes you wonder who the source was. how anyone could claim this as anything resembling a 'success' in insane. total mission failure. absolutely disgusting that the administration tried to hide it behind the death of SOC Owens. what's more is that one of the civilian casualties, Nawar al-Awlaqi, was an American citizen. she was 8 years old. and allegedly she was shot in the neck & left to bleed out for a few hours, despite US/UAE medics being present who could have rendered aid, even if only to make her feel no pain. it's hard to not think that her death was largely ignored given her father Answer was killed in a drone strike a few years prior. and while he did support terrorist groups, he still retained his citizenship at the time of the assassination, which regardless of people's opinions of him, should be concerning; a government sanctioned killing of a US citizen without due process via flying robot. very well made & fairly balanced video. facts matter & hard truths must be known

Respect to General Joseph Votel. Though he was only allowed to say so much, at least he said enough to make it clear that this action was viewed as a great failure. Deepest sympathies to the soldier lost, and especially for the children. It does not matter to whom they belonged, or if they were just innocent civilians, children will never be valid targets, no matter what the nature of the mission. I wonder whether the American military will ever cease their gung-ho attitude to military conflict. Brains will always beat brawn, and superior numbers. They still have not figured this out

@@Chilly_Billy ....and yet you didnt say what i said was wrong....funny that. If these DEVGRU were that good, a 20 km TAB would be childs play to them. So land further away. Why go in day light? These ppl have access to the worlds best kit and they forgot their NVGs? Why were aircraft over head? Why give the village advanced notice? If the drones saw the villagers prepping to defend....why go ahead in the first place? This is basic stuff that the general in charge should have known about....yet he only "issues an apology" after 1 of his men and 25+ civvies are dead? BTW, I'm not an arm chair general, 7 tours done, 4 of them in the middle east and no i wasnt a desk jockey.
