Paul wrote "Hey Jude" for Julian, to secretly support him when he was so sad because of the definitive separation of Cynthia and John. Julian was 5 at the time and Paul got the idea and inspiration one day just driving to Cynthia's home to visit her and Julian. He was completely aware about how much both were suffering.
It’s magical how both Julian and Sean sound like their father but they still sound different from each other. Such talented kids. I’m glad they have a wonderful relationship with each other and their father’s best friend.
This was John's favourite ever song of Paul's and told him it was a great song. The only time he ever really praised Paul personally on his songwriting. Beautifully performed Sean 👌
I can think of at least 2 more times John publicly acknowledged Paul’s songs right off the top of my head. In his lyrics in how do you sleep he says the only thing you did was Yesterday so right there he is saying that Yesterday was a great song and he said that Paul’s Song Coming up was a song he loved and couldn’t get out of his head and that it inspired the competitor in him and made him get off his a$$ and make some more music after a long hiatus. If that’s not praising him personally I don’t know what is.
It was John’s favourite McCartney song - but you made the last bit up 😂 Lennon praised many McCartney songs. Just off the top of my head, but he’s on record saying he loved Hey Jude, Oh Darling, Fool on the Hill. And For No One was one of his favourite Beatles songs, written by anyone
@@chrisjames6327 I did not make the last bit up! I’m not a liar. He actually said that in an interview. After he and Paul had made up I heard him with my own ears and the reason I remembered it was because I liked the song too. Why would I make something like that up?
I do really appreciate your beautiful love and support dear, I can’t fully express the love and gratitude that’s in my heart for having a huge fan like you… remain sweet and God bless you
@Seanlennonmusic You sang...and played!...that beautifully! I am certain Paul was appreciative of your rendition, your father would be beyond ecstatic with this as well! Your mother must be so proud of you!
A wonderful tribute to Paul...as well as your immortal father, whose life lessons of Love still guide many of us to this very day. 🙏 Thank you, Sean. ✌ You have your father's vibrato. #Blessed
Thank you Sean. Great job on a song hard to sing. I hear alot of your Dad’s voice in you. Your Dad and the Beatles truly changed the world for the better. Unfortunately time comes around and it seems to be going downhill nowadays. Thank you for keeping it alive
I agree, his voice is “unique”, a mix of yoko and “something” else but his dad’s. Sorryyyy Sean, maybe you are a nice young man, but if it wasn’t for your name you would pass unnoticed 🤷🏻♀️
@@MG-ms5ep What would you do if you were the son of a famous singer? Hide in a cave? I don't think that Sean ever claimed that he was as good as his father, or something special. He's just living his life doing what he loves. Your opinion about him is irrelevant.
Paul was inspired to write this after listening to the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows" Mojo Magazine rates "Here, There and Everywhere" as the 4th greatest song of all time! It has always been right up there as one of my all time favorites by the Beatles!
@@philc.5100 1) "In My Life" (The Beatles), 2) "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" (The Rolling Stones), 3) "Over The Rainbow" (Judy Garland). From what I can find, that was the list back in 2000 and as of the December 2020 list, it still remains that way. (As per Spotify, these were updated Jan 24, 2021 with the exception of "Satisfaction" which was last updated Nov 19, 2011). Of course, the entire top 100 list is updated periodically but apparently those top 4 spots have remained the same so far. unless someone finds a more updated Mojo list that I've missed
Yes! At 20 years old I checked out the ultimate Beatles influence of their Blue Album era by buying the album "Pet Sounds" in 1994. "That's Not Me" at track 3 on the first hearing made me realize that the album was eternally magic
I agree, there should be list of this kind for any type of music but, if drcided to make an unified one and particularly "of all time", a bigger and more accurate effort must be made in the selection of songs (including more participants). In this case of Modjo's one, in my opinion and talking only about Beatles' songs or even John's or Paul's songs for The Beatles, there are enough songs better than 'In my life' and 'Here, there...'. Both are very good ballads with nice lyrics but not enough to be as high in such a list. Only in "Revolver" I prefer 'Im only sleeping' and 'For no one', for example and continuing with ballads. But there are several mid or uptempo Beatles songs or other ballads that I like and enjoy much more. And then came other artists or bands songs... The Beatles are my favorite group but the huge amount of great quality music that was made in the 60's and 70's make unfair to even try to ellaborate this kind of lists. I cannot imagine a top list of "all time best songs" without seeing on it 'The sounds of silence' (Simon & Garfunkel), 'White room' (Cream), 'California dreaming' (Mama's & Papa's), 'Born to be wild' (Steppenwolf), 'Sky pilot' (The Animals) to name only a few of "obligatory ones"😊! And only 60's songs and haven't still mentioned my favourite Beatles' songs that must be there. And, as you can see, I'm not only a Beatles fan but also rock music fan, including almost al offshoots from it. So, I'm also not including jazz, country, blues (in strict sense), folk, soul, disco, salsa, etc. Of course that fans of those types of music would ask for their favorite songs to be on the list, remenbering that Mojo's title (in this case) is "The best songs of all time". Undoubtedly a very risky title that surely led to a very incomplete list. Even me would suggest to include a great salsa song called 'Pedro Navaja (La vida te da sorpresas) / Pedro Navaja (Life brings you surprises)'!!! Best to all.
I love how Sean & Julian found strength in each other. Im also touched by both Lennon Brother's still remain to be close to Paul McCartney. ❤. Thanks Sean - You have a great voice ! sent from 🇯🇪🇬🇧🇯🇪 🎵 😎🎶

You're a Beautiful Boy!! Sean is an amazing singer, and the cool thing is that he has his own distinctive style, doesn't try to copy his dad like Julian did. Sean would be a great country-western singer coz he has that little break in his voice that the best country singers have. I wish I could do that!
GREAT JOB, SEAN!!! Beautiful!! Listen to me: You are a very talented man, all on your own, with your own unique sound!! Your Dad would be SO PROUD of his lovely Son, and I KNOW your Mom is so proud as well! Thank you for sharing this with us all, Sean….you are a beautiful guy! ❤
I dont know why anyone would hate on this. This is a unique performance of a unique track. Well done Sean. Lovely. I'm a massive Paul fan but dont forget the track has layers on it to thicken out what is a difficult vocal to sing with beauty.
Wow! Awesome… I love it , and Im very sure This touched Pauls heart ! I Love that bit of a yodel in Your voice like many hills folk here in states have.
What can you give Sir Paul on his birthday ? Wonderful Gift Sean Lennon. Your Father, will be so proud ! ❤ We believe this is Paul's favourite song! And he wrote it😆
Nice Sean. I saw Sean walking down McDougal in the village looking so much like his Dad. Years before I was supposed to work with Sean on a project about The Plastic Ono band. Yoko came by and did the interview and then it was Sean's turn. We sat there for about 4 hours and then found out Sean was not going to do the interview because it was just too painful for him to talk about his Dad. I wished he had shown up because he would have seen how much we all loved his Dad and supported the family. I still have my memory of Sean in the Village and that will have to do.
@@RM-je5qw One of Yoko`s early pieces of artwork was a board that the viewer was invited to hammer a nail into. I cant help wondering if when Yoko tried this herself did she accidentally hit her thumb. Thus her unique style of singing was born.
When I see full bearded Sean with his guitar, honoring Paul on his birthday, I'm reminded of that selfish prick who took Sean's father's life in December 1980. THAT was one of the worst years of my life, followed by the worst decade of my life. The 1980s. BAD ENOUGH The Beatles broke up a decade earlier, THEN that mindless disco hit Do The Hustle in 1975, half-way through my high school years. But Andy Rooney on CBS 60 Minutes propagandizing us about Ronald Reagan, with his wrinkled, flabby chest, chopping wood was too much. Lennon killed in December and a month or two later, RayGUN is in the White House, ordering Jimmy Carter's solar panels on the roof disconnected -- and FIRING unionized air traffic controllers. The future was looking very dark. AND HERE WE ARE 2023 and I'm not seeing someone in music challenging Trump and the republiKans -- and centrist democrats. John, George -- and George Carlin, we miss U guys.
