If politicians and others refuse to be interviewed then how can the platform be blamed. My impression of the platform is that you are happy to interview all sides of the debate and give everyone a voice not just those who agree with one point of view.

I did the vote compass questionnaire before the election last year and scored right in the centre. I started watching The Platform when I realised that legacy media was giving a very left-leaning slant to all their reporting, and wanted to hear both sides of the story. I'm glad I did - it opened my eyes to just how badly mainstream media has slid from politically neutral reporting based on evidence and professional journalism - to lots of political party propaganda that gaslights the opposing viewpoint through either misinterpretation or straight up cancellation. Sean Plunket does do lots of interviews with Winston Peters and David Seymour, but he does interviews with people ranging across the political divide as well, and has to contend with left wing politicians refusing to come onto The Platform because he might ask questions they don't want to answer. E.g. Swarbrick refusing an interview with Sean Plunket last year.

The MSM engages in character assassination all the time. This tactic comes across to me as petty college drama and sounds pathetic. How I wish the topics were about party polices and the effects they would have on the average New Zealander, discussed unbiasedly and without the passive aggressive digs at people thrown in.

Company policies all over nz are now designed and signed to defend their own. Customers and clients and the general public don't matter...only the business.

Is Raf Manji right wing? I recall Sean finally managed to interview him after numerous offers and if the interviewees are mainly of the right, could it be because few from my side are willing to show up to direct questions? And I prefer listening to Winston talking to Sean because it is usually more issues focused rather than the enjoyable but often empty jousting with my beloved Morning Reporters.

Just told Stuff to delete my account as I’ve found some real news to watch. I was donating for a while to support journalism but I cancelled my payments and emailed to tell them why. Every time I made a comment that disagreed with their “community policy” they banned my account for longer than the time before. Sins included using the word Māori or rainbow. Pointing out that Winston was talking about Māori party leader saying Māori dna is better than other dna got me banned for a week!
