Not only his life but hers. I think she knew this guy wanted to them and set them up for him. The whole “getting mad at her for bringing them over” is lie. She called to over to set them up for him to murder them. That lady is just dangerous as him. I believe they were a serial killing couple in the making but she just has some sort of empathy that you can’t have to be a killer. Notice she said she drove the truck back ? This mean she was there watching the murders. These people always remove themselves from these killings when in reality they were there watching and enjoying it. People that live in small towns are usually scared to live in big cities because of high crime rates but they’re not looking at the fact that most of these cases are from small town. Just look at all the cases on This channel and most serial killers in this countries history. Most of these sick crimes are happening in small towns because they have a sense that they’re hidden from the public which means people are less likely to see them commitIng these crimes, and also these police departments are small and don’t have the resources to investigate crimes like these so it’s the perfect mix. If that lady didn’t say anything they probably would have never solved this case. They simply don’t have the resources to investigate a case like this for years.
I was baffled that they didnt go more into her at the very beginning, she was the last person to see them alive. They prolly could have gotten all the evidence the same day.
I don't fault the bio mom for giving her son up for adoption, especially when she knows her lifestyle wouldn't be best for him. I'm so glad Lee was cleared and an innocent man didn't go to prison. Thank goodness they found them for their families.
She cared enough to admit she wouldn't have been able to properly care for Riley, which is more than far too many others in similar circumstances are willing to do. Instead, they keep their kid(s) in squalor and neglect their needs while thinking they're doing their best.
exactly! besides if we want women to do that make a proper decision to allow someone more suited we can’t shame them anyways . way rather have that then the ole i killed hin or drug him through hell with me
I know how you feel, I do the same thing! They are great episodes, all though the things involved are horrific terrible things. But we learn things from watching these, pay attention to them, remember, these shows can save your lives, they give some answers as to what to look out for, or things to do to prevent it from happening to you or someone you know, also keep records like diaries if you think something is wrong, you know what i mean? I watch these to learn, it benefits everyone!
Exactly. And it was them saying they found the same type of ratchet strap at his place that was making him look guilty. But they never said if they found both pieces of the strap at his place. Those straps come in 2 pieces, so if the one they found at his place had both pieces, then it would be clear that the piece they found on the Jeep wasn't his. I know a lot of people that have those same exact straps because they were cheap and places like Walmart sold a lot of them.
And sadly many of them probably still think of him as the guilty party. That's why false allegations are so bad, but these "listen and believe" twats seem to be perfectly ok with ruining the lives of innocent people.
Two things I was thinking: 1. Anyone can go to walmart or whatever and buy the same strap. Doesn't and shouldn't incriminate the guy. 2. Considering my first point...it didn't help his case that he kind of blew off the cops because he was "busy." If they came in asking about my wife's biological child missing, you can bet your ass that I'd drop everything I was doing to talk to that cop.
@@rexellate and they appear to not live in a great area so I'm sure things like that are limited and don't have many options when it comes to purchasing.
For real. I had suspected him for a minute, until I heard him talk to the reporter and I knew he was telling the truth about not knowing what happened to them. You can hear honesty in his voice.
I was mind blown that they didnt go further into that. They suck at being detectives if you have to solve a case by some crazy person admitting what happened at a traffic stop
the cops never said who they were suspicious of. I am sure they were suspicious of everyone who the kids visited and I can bet the last one to see them alive especially.
Well one the mom refused to help search for her son that kind of leaves suspicion I’m glad that she wasn’t guilty of this but she sure looks like a loser anyway choosing drugs over her children
I certainly hope Mom's boyfriend got an apology! If this wouldn't have came to light he would've lived the rest of his life under a cloud of suspicion. This is the problem with rumors, GOSSIP, and unfair judgement!
Well why was he being suspicious?! If my step kid goes missing I’ll strip down to my drawls to prove my innocence! When you refuse to comply, it’s very suspicious! Why make the detectives waste time investigating you, when you can clear yourself & they can continue focusing on the “REAL” suspect! Same thing happened with Jon Benet ! They focused on her family for so long the “Real” killer got Away! Also I should note: I believe the family did it, but the Detectives say otherwise! So imma go with that

That poor biological mom. She accepted responsibility for her failures as a mom, and gave her son up for an adoption with the belief that she was acting in his best interests, something that is both heartbreaking and selfless...and he ends up being murdered by someone else. 😔
And it wasn’t her recent Ex-Boyfriend, both told the truth, and I actually believed them. One of the most senseless murders that I ever heard of, the murderer should be burned at the stake, 2 young people who could have went anywhere, sick SOB!! That was his motive?
I call bullshit on that!! She gave him up because she was selfish and continued her drug life!! Giving him up is one thing but staying out of his life is another so she's just as responsible as anyone for his death. You have kids then shit or get off the pot and be the parent of the children you bear! Don't make excuses for that woman neglecting her responsibilities!!! Look how she lived! Same. When I was a kid _in Orem Utah,_ if there was a murder, EVERYONE knew about it. *Desensitized* is the only way to describe the current state of things.
It takes a lot of courage to approach a possible suspect armed only with a mic and camera. If they did kill these kids, what's stopping them from killing you for snooping around.
R.I.P. Riley & Breezy “ I remember being in Juvenile detention with Riley at slate canyon, Before all this happened. Really good human being and soul smart and good on the court, Condolences to both sides of the family .
what’s scary is the moms boyfriend could’ve easily found himself locked up in prison for something he never did. All it takes is somebody saying they saw him towing the truck, if another “eye witness” would of corroborated that same story or somebody else made something up to frame him he would’ve been more than likely fucked. That’s the reason we have so many false imprisonments. We’re so desperate for justice sometimes we end up putting innocent men/women behind bars. Glad they got it right this time.
You don't know how wrong you are. Jerrod was a very easy target because of his background. Henderson was arrested before she became a witness and was facing 40 years for 9 felony charges. She so happens to become a witness and all of her felony charges are dropped. Doesn't make sense. Morgan the "witness" last 2 husband's and her son have died while with her. Strange right? Morgan was also in position of a large amount of cash that had Riley's fingerprints on it along with a necklace that the girl was wearing. There is a lot more to this that was not added. So yes you are right in the sense that the wrong man could be convicted you just had it backwards.
Jake Moore So what did Dougiee have backward? Stated an innocent man would have possibly been wrongly convicted and sentenced for a crime not committed, but glad that the person who was ostracized by the community was not immediately formally charged for the crime, and that “possibly” one of the alleged involved was then determined to be guilty? Therein, the female “witness”, after facing several felony counts, decides to coordinate the scenario where she was innocent and a threatened victim, voluntarily gives testimony to the whereabouts and history of the victims?
I feel bad for the bio mom and the bf being accused... I actually felt it when she cried and said "I wouldn't hurt my son"...😔 just wondering, what if that Morgan Henderson was not caught in traffic violation? Lee Sheperd would've been the suspect forever... poor guy.
"I've never killed an innocent before, so I made Breezy's death quick and painless" So, Riley wasnt innocent? What did Riley do that warranted being brutally murdered in his eyes?
If not for that woman coming forward, this case would never had been solved. Better late than never, I suppose. I can`t imagine the terror those young teens must have endured at the hands of a deranged monster. So much evil out there.
Based on what she said and how they described her boyfriend, I am guessing it was fear. He became enraged because she was hanging out with people "without his permission" and then brutally killed them. I would have been terrified I was next if I said anything, personally. I can't really blame her for keeping quiet. She told police immediately after she was in their custody on an unrelated incident.
God bless you as well for supporting cause sometimes it sad to say the parents won’t help. Like with baby King here in San Antonio...poor baby. Searching for hours and the father even knew where his body was...😔😔😔
Ariel Salas we as a community should help each other in times of need like this ... but I wouldn’t want my mom to find me dead or feel like she has to search because of peoples opinions
I went to high school with the girl. She was pretty cool and a fun person. When we heard about this it was really heart breaking we all still remember here. Rip breezy and rylie.
My heart breaks every time I hear about breezy. She was such an amazing girl and was so supportive. I didn’t know her as much as Riley, but my god they were happy together🥺
@starkravingnormal Yes I have seen and interacted with them everywhere. That's why I have only a few select friends in this entire world. We live in an evil world.
Delon Duvenage that’s a complete waste of time as many killers stop giving a shit all together. Throw a man out in the woods and in front of mountain lions, you really think they’d stop to feed him his rights? It’s pointless to hold someone for life who is clearly guilty.
Lee not talking to the police was seen as suspicious, but actually is the advice frequently given by lawyers and others familiar with courts and law. Sometimes it give crooked police or prosecutors an opening to get a false confessions or frame the wrong person. I believe this is rare but still happens.
I find it ironic that Riley’s last name is Powell and Susan Powell went missing in 2009 and is suspected of being in a mineshaft but her body was never found. So sad these victims passed away in such a horrific manner. I am glad they found their bodies and the guilty party.

@@MoonBeamsAndDreams yea the Susan Powell case is an insanely sad story and was extremely well covered in detail on the podcast COLD. Her husband presumably murdered her in Dec 2009 and her body has never been located. In 2012, he killed himself and his two sons and blew up their house. One of the most horrific cases I’ve seen. The podcast is the most thoroughly researched, well produced podcast I’ve heard, and since it’s produced by a radio host or station in SLC, UT near where Susan disappeared, the audio is amazing. For example when they talk about the airport, it sounds like they went to the SLC airport to get audio footage because I have been to that airport a ton of times and that’s exactly what it sounds like. Or if they talk about driving on a gravel road, it sounds like you’re on a gravel road. That was the first podcast I had heard and now none of the ones I’ve found since measure up! 😂

Exactly. I was trying to figure out how a "routine traffic stop" resulted in her confessing to her role in this crime. [Initial investigation] Police: So, they were at your house? Do you know what happened to them? Woman (cool as a cucumber): Nope. They left after 40 minutes. No idea what happened to them. [Few months later...] Traffic cop: Right, so I'm going to have to write you up for this broken tail light... Woman (very nervous): If I tell you where my friend's dead bodies are, can we forget about the ticket? I really can't lose any more points off my license.
I think the cops concentrated too much on the mother and her boyfriend. They should have checked out , the one who saw them last more...if that girl didn’t get stopped who knows if they would have ever been caught?
I don't think they would've gotten wrongly convicted. If anything, the case would've been dropped due to lack of evidence. I've seen plenty of cases where actual killers get away due to lack of physical evidence too.
@@lbo6050 tow strap isn't enough to prove that he's guilty. They didn't check it for prints and it wasn't custom made or anything so other people could have the same model.
it's amazing how they show these photos of the mom and the boyfriend looking all psycho and heinous but then you see them being interviewed later and they're completely non-threatening people who have just made poor lifestyle choices. It shows how media can spin everything to make you suspect of one person only two revealed that there's plenty of evidence that there's really no reason to think that outside of the fact that the person didn't take a good picture and the narration of the story makes them sound somewhat sinister.
Yeah, it's gross how media can do that. Sure, the mother won't get a 'mommy of the year' award, but at least she had the guts to let her kid live with the grannys and the heart to break down and take the responsibility for her bad choices.
i’d die of alcohol poisoning and then crime watch would have to make a video about my death 💀 then say that shit all over again and the cycle would repeat itself until they killed each and every one of us LOL
I just have to say I’ve always hated the 72 hour rule to file for someone missing. They always say the first 48 hours is the most crucial time to solve a crime but make you wait 72 kinda stupid. I’m sorry if I didn’t contact someone in my family for that long they would worry already.
That’s not a real thing, it’s just to make movies and tv shows more frustrating. If you believe someone you know has gone missing, even after say 3 hours of them not coming home or something, you can absolutely file a missing persons report.
I know this is late but actually u do have to wait. I cannot file a missing persons report same day. When I was 14 there was miscommunication with my school and my mom thought I was missing.she called the police but they said it hasn't been long enough to do anything
Vinny D Omg I didn’t ever think of that, good point! I hope they question him now that he is facing death penalty anyway, other unresolved murders might clear up!

They went down a 15 minute rabbit hole to make us think that. Then all of a sudden the case was solved. Plus they made it look like the reporters investigation led to the finding of the bodies. Pssshhh
False. Most murders happen in big cities you just don’t hear it often because happens all the time BUT when it does happen in a small town it becomes BIG NEWS.
I don't think she should've gotten charged at all. Yeah it was bad that she didn't turn him in sooner, but the fact that she eventually did makes up for it. Without her finally turning him in he probably never would've been caught. In the future if people know that they will get charged for something like that, then they won't turn the murderer in because they don't want to get punished.
In her testimony she tells what happened and how she was forced down on her knees in front of the minehole and she watched the teens die, thinking she was next. The guy then threatened to decapitate her if she would ever go to the cops, also stating that even if he were to go to jail, he could get her killed from behind bars. And worst of all he threatened the life of her son. So she was too scared for her life and the life of her child to come forward. That's her statement and I can see why she would be scared and not come forward if things truly did go that way. I'm truly glad that she eventually did tell what happened so these kids can have some justice.
Yeah, I agree. Something wasn't disclosed in the video. I was also wondering the relation between the kids and those people but it was never mentioned either.
