The problem with the death penalty is that it too often leads to murderers being acquitted or innocent people being executed. Juries are more inclined to return a "not guilty" verdict to avoid sentencing an innocent person to death. There are also some juries which will return a "guilty" verdict despite reasonable doubt. Juries are too unreliable for death to be a punishment.

This is a sad case. I stayed about 5 minutes away from the place where the poor little girl got kill my 12 year old daughter knew her from school, which is a very sad situation 😢😢😢.
They need to investigate the mother, there's zero reason that child should have been allowed out that late and at a gas station, and her mom's interview seemed sketchy

Law enforcement needs to follow proper protocols to maintain the integrity of their investigation. They may have found out these facts a while ago and are only now releasing specific information.

After their trial, and certain sentencing, these two should be sent straight to the cannery at Huntsville do not pass go, do not collect 200.00. No appeals, they didn't show a 12 year old child, any mercy so why as a society should we give them any hint of it?
