Mongol Chiuud Funan is a Malay-Indonesian kingdom, its elite class is actually from India (Brahmin and Ksatriyah). Then, the Javanese conquered the two Chenla kingdoms and ruled that land for a while until the Angkor empire established its foundation here. As we know, Funan kingdom was actually a Malay-Indonesian with Indian upper class. The later Khmer people are mixed between Malays and ancient Chenla, then Thai, Han, and Viet.

Chamic peoples migrated from Indonesia where they had common ancestry with Malays. It is actually the Acehnese who fled Champa to Sumatra. You can tell this because all Chamic languages are intensely modifed under millenia of influence of Mon-Khmer influence, Acehnese by several centuries' worth due to early separation. But Malay only has a dent of such influence due to only colonizing Malaya relatively recently.

It's Vietnamization of all minority ethnic groups in Vietnam. Laos for example have other Laotian minorities ethnic groups that came to America but they get to still claim their ethnic origin instead of nationality of being called Laotian, like the Hmong, Mien, Lahu, Khmu, Ethin, Tai Dam, Tai Lu, Akha and so on.. All these groups are refugees from Laos and should be considered Laotian which is a nationality term. Laotian=all people who are from and have roots in Laos Lao= The majority ethnic group of Laos Thai from Issan province (Northeastern Thailand) are Lao but they are not Laotian because they are not from Laos, They are Thai nationals of Lao descent. The Viets United all the ethnic groups as one group-------->Vietnamese... I think that's why Vietnam won't let minorities separate ethnicity from nationality so there will be no rebellion. The Hmong from Laos wanted their own Hmong state within Laos due to living secluded in the mountains of Laos and have no allegiance or national unity to Laos, like how Vietnam is United.

Even then, there are a few guide agencies under the same name...so it's hard to point you to the same guys. Penta Starship ah ok thank you for clearing doubt.. yes I know in Indonesia in an island called bali there are many temples and people over there are Hindus. I guess they were also similar like champa people.. but probably they had faced all the brutality and torture in their past generation when people were converting themselves into Islam but they didn’t . When I think about it I just wonder those Bali people and their older generation history must be full of horrible circumstances , torture and brutality by the ruler yet they continued their religion till today.. must be horrible then yeah!!

Islam were introduced via trading..most peoples then chose to embrace Islam peacefully without any force.. Balinese chose to remain and practice Hindu despite surrounds by hundreds millions muslims..showing the tolerances built through out centuries ... For example there are a huge ancient Hindu & Buddhist temple in central Java (Borobudur) despite it is now a large majority muslims area.. they never try to burn or tarnish those as they know that’s was their ancestors religion and nothing to be ashamed of and in fact they are proud of their history : )

Because history says when Islam entered in South Asia like India pak bangladesh for 600 years Mughals empire tortured and tried to convert people which is the result of today’s Muslim in Indian sub continent which even form a new country based on the religion called pakistan bangladesh later. :) but in Indonesia you are right it came through traders not through empire like Mughals, ottoman etc. May be that’s why in Indonesia we see hindu idol Ganesha in their currency which shows the level of tolerance, harmony and coexistence of both religion plus Buddhism also.
