Searching for Chickamauga Lake Bass on my KAYAK

Took my kayak to a small creek that flows into chickamauga to find some bass or any fish i could catch. I was surprised to catch the second biggest largemouth i had ever caught using a lizard and throwing it on its bed.

Why anyone would give this a thumbs down is beyond belief. Great video, excellent presentation and editing. I especially like that you take the time to show and tell what bait your using. Looks like a hard place to fish a kayak. Though that flood water be pretty hard to fish it from shore too. Some nice angling action. Plus a tight squeeze there. Hope the water wasn't still raising. Fish on.👌👍😊

Man, rubber boots in a kayak is a good way to find yourself marching to shore from underwater when you flip that thing. Even in shallow water, they would be a real hindrance in an emergency. I would suggest light runners or sandals, even if it means getting muddy feet while launching. I once flipped an ATV in a creek while wearing rubber boots and it didn't end well. Almost lost a finger and nearly froze. It also took me 30 minutes of awkwardly draining the water out of the boots before I could get them off.

I have got to rig up my kayak for fishing! I don't think it's wide enough to be a super stable vessel but it should be fun enough.

John that is the reason I love my kayak. I can launch it at any public access point and get where big boats can't. Plus it allows me to fish in spots I couldn't get to from the bank. 👊👍

I feel ya on the kayak not being the favorite. I went kayak cat fishing this morning and I’d cast and the kayak would get to swaying if constantly have to adjust line. I lost a rod and reel in the water. For some reason I felt fat today like I lost some real estate on the thing. I go fishing a lot, a lot like 3 times a week if not 4 and I felt like I needed a beginners manual. Anyway, I really like your videos, you do good work.

The only issue with catching off a bed is if you don't release right away. I see people all the time keep bass in the livewell till they get to the ramp, then release them. If you are not keeping them, release them right away.

My favorite classic creek lures for the brushy, narrow creeks are h&h spinners and beetle spins. Also the old Texas rig. Effective and they all handle snags well. Can't imagine creek crawling without them. I need to try the trout magnet stuff.

Can you spend a little time showing how you rig each one of your lures? I just got some of those zman minnowz 3 inch and I don't know what hook to use. Looks like you used the Ned rig hook. Is the hookup ratio good with that small of a hook?

I use the ned rig jig heads with mine... the walmart usually has 2 different sizes 1/15 oz. And 1/10 oz. I use the 1/10 for actual ned rigs and the 1/15 for swimming rigs I also use them with ribbon tail or shaky head worms

Hey buddy! Good video!! I was wondering if that's Berkley braid in the white rod and reel? What pound test do you use? That's what I have on lews spinning combo and I've lost 3 fish from line breaks 1 was drag being to tight but the other 2 had loose drag and the line still popped on me... not sure if it's the knot that I use or if my line is just way to lite for finesse bass fishing... thanks for all the awesome footage you always put out... tight lines brother

oh yeah you are squawking now - getting out on the water you cover so much more ground - you do have to scout the rivers a bit i guess since some rapids could be rough - maybe you get a drone - you could do a mile recon probably with not too much trouble - the optics on some of these gimalled drones is absolutely insane so shop around there could be some good deals out there - maybe it is a small side biz doing aerial surveys /gpstimestamps on every frame - the key is to have fun but also find the bigger fish - not just catch 50 bass on a float - admittedly sometimes it is just a numbers game but you can tip the odds #drone recon #right place right time #patterns

get a cheap bang around jon boat - get a small one you cart around easy - will increase your range 100x - more comforable than kayak and you could always trick it out - more content, get a fishinder and elec motor and don't forget the mt dew, sunscreen, shades - go with what works for you and stay sponsor independent although you should say you will accept all swag and review it if you like it but don't get into any sponsor traps or crap
