Thanks for the knot demo, I've tried god knows how many leader knots but they are all a nightmare with cold wet hands, will be trying this one when I'm out next as have a new reel on the way to try out
A great short Video. Good clarity from the camera. Shame you havn't found a 5lb yet. I always thought the welsh side was better for Cod. Good luck on your next session.
I always thought the welsh side was better but I think the tides have turned (excuse the pun) and the better fishing is on the English side, deeper, rougher and faster flowing tides. I think it holds the potential of better fish. Thanks for watching.
Great video..seems not many cod left anywhere..at least when you target cod and dont succeed you get the bonus of a good eel..here in Kent and Sussex we get pin whiting😝
Whiting can be a pain when targeting bigger fish but they’re nit around here like they used to be. But we have to battle hoards of dogs when we’re chasing rays.
Hard lines John, the fish are out there put in the hours and you’ll get one. Fishing down here has been really slow. Cod seemed to have disappeared and congers have gone off the feed too. Thanks for watching and tight lines 🎣
Hi David, not fished the beach but fished the rocky point that’s called newton. We actually have a video fishing from there for smooth hounds. Thanks for watching.
Hi Keith, since loosing that huge fish on what me and phil now call leviathan ledge I’ve upped my mainline. I’m currently using Berkley smooth cast it’s around 30lb but my focus when choosing a line will now be on diameter. Something around .43 or .44 will be my preferred diameter. In the past I’ve been sucked in to low diameter high breaking strain and the abrasion resistance isn’t there for the Bristol channel.
@@BanditFishingUK you are right bud, lots use 15lb/18lb for these rough marks i keep snapping off so now use 25lb mono, andrew davies recommended it and its been great,
Hi Allan, thanks for watching, yeah the cod usually move down channel at this time of year I was hoping to pick up an early bigger fish. They’re out there been a few better ones caught around Barry area already.
Never had one fail me!! I always used them or the equivalent in thetronixpro links. I know they do different sizes have you got smaller ones that are weaker?? Thanks for watching
No weirdly its the bigger gemini ones I then went to brass gemini clips and it happens 1 more time, Very very odd both on ver very clean ground venues aswell 3 times its happened 2 times my self and 1 time for my brother (new to fishing)
Ill give them a whirl mate honestly its unexplainable when it happened the first time I thought I hadn't clipped it in proper second time i was baffled so I checked the clip made sure there was 0 things wrong with it, then 3rd time I went to trident clips but there bulky for a clip lol Ill have a look at the tronix ones but I am a major fan of gemini so maybe give them another go confidence with them is just abit knocked lol
