Coins and relics are on the agenda for today's metal detecting adventure. This river is muddy and probably disease ridden, but the hunt must go on. I discover a nice Indian Head cent and some American Civil War relics. But best of all it was a day on the river and not a day at work!

An 1863 coin is important, so much happened: Battle of Gettysburg, and the surrender of Vicksburg, Morgan’s unauthorized raid into Indiana and his capture. Jules Vernes first book. Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation ends American slavery. A real turning point in who we are. ...what a year. But, could Chigg’s day be any more difficult? And, he still pulls out the artifacts for us to see.

It's a river, i should think it's more likely for it to be an ore lock than a caster, ALSO, casters, generally, have an angle to them so they don't keep twisting all the time. SO, that's not a caster, that's an ore lock.

Hey Buddy, saw a video where you said some people said your smiling to much and not serious enough. I need to say, SMILE ON! If you love what you're doing, even if it's trying to figure out what a melted blob once might have been, you show the world your definition of a good time by the smile on your face. Dear Beau, you’ve made my day. I’m eating a late lunch. It’s a cold cloudy day here in NZ. I’m eating my guilty pleasure for lunch - veggie curry - and watching the neighbours across the road having a 7m x 4m x 3m pool delivered by a huge truck. Keeps the toy poodles happy. The crane is wobbling. I think the gap in the fence is a little narrow. Much discussion is going on. Love your videos. I even like the square & rose head nails. I would be happy to find one of those. Good job your wife is a Vet, she will have antibiotics on hand for the typhoid & cholera... lol Six men and the pool still won’t go through the gap... should I suggest it goes through sideways? No. Thanks again for fun videos, envy the heat xx😊🌼🌼🌼 don’t change a thing, unless of course you want to do lots more videos, then I’m in.

@ 11.23, semi-circular iron thing - half a lid from a wood stove, the 'tag' is for opening it to add more logs.

Hey Chigg, I have been watching your videos for a couple of years now and am always impressed with your great attitude and love of metal detecting! Especially in the water...which is inspiring me to get out there and do moar myself. Only here in Florida we have to be careful of nasty little critters in the calmer lakes and ponds during the hot summer months that can do one harm. But we do have some awesome springs that are great! Thanks for your many posts!

3.10.... part of windmill shaft that hooked to the wood rod that stayed above ground and then hooked to the sucker rod that went into the ground

Love the videos sir! I made a few interesting finds today in a local quarry which opened in the mid 1800s. Found a 1919 Canadian One Cent piece as well as a 1949 Canadian Silver dime. One find I made is definitely lead and looks like the civil war bullets you find but I cant tell lol. Your videos have helped me with locating good areas to detect and re ignited my love for metal detecting! Keep up the great vids and thank you!
