What a surprise to find this - I was the photographer/cameraman. I wonder where you got it. I have a film print in good shape that I should get transferred. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for uploading. You can't begin to imagine the amount of memories this triggered. The smells, the sounds. There were so many great games of chance. The grocery wheels, the record wheels, with plenty of bootleg albums, candy wheels, and so much more. One more thing. Does anyone remember a bar/club that had live music called the Chatterbox? I think that was its name. They had some big name bands back in the day.
Thank you John! Great Memories! Would love to go back and JUST LIVE in the 60s & 70s. (Excluding the Vietnam Conflict & ALL Souls involved) it was an amazing bright free-spirited innovative Era of 2 Turning-Point decades!
If you ignore the then-current fashions of the day, this has an almost turn-of-the-century feel to it. It's all relative I guess. Grew up in Middletown. Been to Asbury Park and Keansburg, but never went to Seaside Heights.
There used to be a fun house from the 80s called, "The Beer Baron"? Or "The Beer Barrel"? I can't remember. But there was an animatronic fat lady on top of the roof that would rock and laugh. And beer barrels that moved left and right. For the life of me... I can't find any footage of it. It's looooooong gone
Guy in a mens room in a boardwalk bar basement men's room: "Hit of my reefer for a hit of your hash?" Me: "Sure." Guy turning around from a urinal with a bottle of Budweiser in his hand: "Hit of my beer?"
