intersting thing, is i think that he was also testing him too. which shows the terrifying intelilgence inside of them. he swooped down to frighten him a few good times and chased him. dude ran into the forst, THE place that would be best to escape a beast of that size, showed his speed and itnelilgence in a panic, and showed his pbravery from there even when cornered.
@@taddad2641 Ohhh yes. ASOIAF dragons are *hyper* intelligent. They arguably have human level intelligence . More specifically, the intelligence of a bright human (because humans are capable of being incredibly dumb). So the fact that part of the way a Targ or someone "suitable by blood" to be a dragon rider is to tell the dragons to listen and obey and be calm is....hilarious. Scary hilarious. Because it means the dragons are just *humoring* them.
@@W00KERI believe seasmoke already had his eye on Addam I believe I think seasmoke saw Addam before that’s why he was so riled up and wanted to find him. That’s why steffan was killed because seasmoke also had someone else in mind and he didn’t treat or react to seasmoke very well.
@@cpegg5840I mean, I think the keepers were there because they wanted to call him. Seasmoke didn't kill Steffan because he was afraid. He killed Steffan because he didn't want to bond with him, and happened to be annoyed about it. Dragons just roll like that... Sometimes they get irritated and murk you. Hazards of interacting with gigantic fire breathing monsters. Not every failed attempt to claim a dragon ends in death, but plenty do.
Probably not intentional, but Seasmoke trying to establish contact with Addam really has the energy of one of those giant "dangerous" dog breeds trying to get attention from a human they've decided they like.
This series gets so many intricacies about dragon behaviours right. The fly by where Seasmoke glances at Addam, flies on thinking "does he look like who I think he looks like?" Then turns around and flies back for a better and closer look. At the end when Addam is terrified when Seasmoke approaches him you can see the reason why Addam calms down is because of the look on Seasmokes face wasn't a look of anger or aggression, it was a look of sheer curiosity and even sentiment.
Another thing I like as well was Seasmoke crash landing. It made sense because Seasmoke probably glided down to the ground rather than flapping his wings to reduce his speed because flapping his wings would have been loud and would have alerted Addam that he was coming.
Seasmoke had already seen Adam in previous scenes, he must have had his eye on him and that's it. And the dragons are always the ones who claim the riders, only seasmokeb who has actively done so
@@Niikhavod0 right. The dragon gets the final answer. The human usually approaches first, so that’s what’s unusual: Seasmoke did a reverse uno when it came to approaching the opposite party to initiate a dragon rider bond. Or rather, he just sped up the process and approached Addam first haha
This scene was so well done! And too funny. I noticed Seasmoke nearly breaking his neck turning when he saw Addam. He probably thought it's Laenor with dyed hair.
I start to love Seasmoke more and more. I loved how after the burning he vanished and flew to person he choose as fast as possible. The crash landing got me 😂🐉
Honestly though how f*cking cool would it be to have a beautiful fully grown dragon chase you like this and look deep into your soul? Of course it would seem alot cooler once you realize it wasn't trying to unalive you lmao.
@@Mcherri As far as we know Alyn and Addam's mother was common-born. Rhaenys is the mother to Laenor and Laena. But the Velaryons have inter-married with the Targaryen's throughout history so it seems it's most likely Corlys has passed on some Targaryen blood to Alyn and Addam.
Seasmoke already choosed Addam days ago… he already introduced himself to him + got an eye on him. Thats why he burned the man in dragonstone for trying to claim him and flew to Addam as fast as he could, so cute 😂❤
He is absolutely just playing with Addam. Swiping at him with his tail. Swooping down on him. He’s not actually trying to hurt him, just just toying with him.

HOW DID YOU BECOME A DRAGONRIDER? Dragon rider 1: Well, I went to meet the dragon and claimed it. Dragon rider 2: A dragon egg was placed in my cradle when I was born and we bonded. Addam: I was on my own, minding my own business when Seasmoke hunted me down and forced me to claim it.
Dragons are as smart as people according to the maesters that studied them, they just function differently than us because they are flying fire breathing magical beings.

Well it's written the first few attempts were no successful. In the book she sends a few knights. Some get burned and one loses his arm. I thought the guy they were showing was going to lose the arm.

I like that they're showing some different circumstances for dragon bonding. The conventional version is approaching them and asserting dominance but apparently sometimes a dragon just likes a specific person and kidnaps them lol. I can imagine similar things happening if a dragon is hatched from the cradle of a specific Targaryen, only for a different Targaryen to try to claim them later on. Hatching from the cradle establishes a kind of proto-bond so I can imagine if you riled the dragon up enough with the urge to bond but their cradle buddy wasn't showing up, they'd go looking for them and might not take no for an answer. Or in this case Seasmoke misses his old rider specifically, and so abducts a guy who smells like him.
Different dragons different personalities. A dragon like vermithor, respects strength. Seasmoke clearly likes dreadheads and Silverwing just wanted to get out of that cave. 😂😂😂

Correct! Viewers like the size and ferocity of Vhagar but in my humble opinion Drogon is my favorite because he was the most emotionally intelligent dragon in GOT! That’s why Dany had more sway over how she steered him! I miss Drogon😂
The way Seasmoke is just casually flying overhead when he scents Addam’s royal blood, does a 90 degree turn and makes beeline toward him will never not be funny to me. Like you can literally see the instant Seasmoke got a sniff at him, the way he cranes his neck down like “shiiiit, am I smelling correctly?!!”
Seasmoke heard they were broadening the pool for picking new bondmates and decided now was as good a time as ever to knock down that glass ceiling of humans always being the ones to initiate.
Considering that humans never domesticated cats (cats actually domesticated themselves)...dragons are just cats with wings and can breathe napalm fire.
In modern fantasy dragons have been depicted as having very feline like demeanors, from Eragon with Saphira, to EE Knight's Age of Fire where Wistala discovers that dragons and cats have similar words in their language to Adam Winguard using his cat to model Godzilla's (I know not a dragon but close enough) behaviour off of for the new empire movie

Most aggressive but cute dragon choosing rider ever. This is going to be very interesting. This takes pet choosing owner to a whole other level.
I actually like this change as opposed to what was written in the book. Adam just jumped on Seasmoke and it was fair game. This way is better because the Dragon is letting Adam know that he's been chosen and that Seasmoke was done mourning and wanted his rider back and Adam probably smells and looks just like Laenor. This and Aemon bonding with Vaghar are among the best dragon bonding scenes I've seen in asiof
