In this episode, Capt Chris talks about 2 of his favorite small soft plastics for targeting summertime speckled trout. The 2 lures in particular he discussed are the MirrOlure Lil Jon and the Capt Lanes Ghostminnow. Both of these paired with the right jighead can produce a lot of fish and even some larger fish.

I've had many more fish going smaller and smaller. I've been tossing a 1/16 or 3/32 kwiggler 2/0 jig head with a Jakal 2.5 rythme wave paddle. That's been my best bait this year.

good points for sure and i also have been catching a lot of specks on 3 inch h and h cocahoe minnows paddletails on a quarter or eighth ounce jighead. And also other brands of 3 inch but mainly the cocahoes ‘cause they are cheap😅 Galveston causeway area from a friend’s private pier mostly, under floodlights at night.

Just finding this series, amazing info, thx! Just curious, do you ever fish these weedless with a weighted hook here in Texas? If so, what do you use? I also prefer the 1/16 Texas Customs jighead from Jay, but I've had some success with the Owner 3/0 1/6oz weighted twistlock when throwing in really shallow grassy flats with a lot of floating grass. However, they are super hard to find right now.

Just an idea for a product to look into is the costal fishing gears wade right belt. I’ve been curious on your thoughts on it for a while. I think it’s the best belt on the market for wade fishermen

Check out the 3.75 streakz from zman too between those and the lil John those are my go to plastics for the summer time.

I have some StreakZ 3.75 that I throw on a NED head.

@@speckledtruth4577 The ned rig is something I really need to experiment with more. Been fishing and said to myself multiple times a ned rig would probably be perfect right about now haha
