That letter was from his daughter Mary, asking/begging him to spare the life of Lady Solzbury or Soltzbury perhaps, mother of Reginald Pole (spelling these out is a bit tricky for me). Also, dat phone blooper.. xD Not very Tudory, is it? :P
Yes Margaret Pole, Countess of Salisbury was Reginald's mother and a friend of Katherine's whom she had served since Katherine first came to England. She was also of royal blood. Her Father was George, Duke of Clarence; Brother to Edward IV and Richard III and cousin to Henry VIII's Mother. Reginald Pole went on to become Archbishop of Canterbury during Mary I's reign. They died on the same day.

Julian calendar "From 1087 to 1155 the English year began on 1 January,from 1155 to 1751 began on 25 March" Wow, I had no idea about this. I know now, by Julian calendar New Year day is 13 of January (Serbs celebrate that New Year as well as the regular one XD ).
