It's not a napkin at 0:50, it's a letter from someone that I can't remember and he wipes his mouth with it because we'll, that's Henry VIII for ya. Love the bloopers.
did you notice that the actress playing Mary isn't in any bloopers? She must be a very serious person, arriving always prepared and never missing a line. It makes me like her even more
"Everyone knows my fucking place in hell was booked a long time ago." "His Majesty is so desirous to marry your sister Anne that...um...what?" "Great--it comes to my close up and I can't fucking say it." "As with? With as?" "...A scene full of fucking nightmares!" "You nearly took his fucking arm off!!"
That letter was from his daughter Mary, asking/begging him to spare the life of Lady Solzbury or Soltzbury perhaps, mother of Reginald Pole (spelling these out is a bit tricky for me). Also, dat phone blooper.. xD Not very Tudory, is it? :P
Yes Margaret Pole, Countess of Salisbury was Reginald's mother and a friend of Katherine's whom she had served since Katherine first came to England. She was also of royal blood. Her Father was George, Duke of Clarence; Brother to Edward IV and Richard III and cousin to Henry VIII's Mother. Reginald Pole went on to become Archbishop of Canterbury during Mary I's reign. They died on the same day.
u know i actually just realized that hes the new Superman after reading your comment even though i had just watched the movie few days ago! WTH is wrong with my brain!???
In the Christmastide part just before Henry VIII breaks his agreement with Robert Aske he wishes the crowd "Happy New Year".. WRONG! New Years Day was 1st April in the Julian calendar then in force
Julian calendar "From 1087 to 1155 the English year began on 1 January, from 1155 to 1751 began on 25 March" Wow, I had no idea about this. I know now, by Julian calendar New Year day is 13 of January (Serbs celebrate that New Year as well as the regular one XD ).
Excelen serie. Maravillosa realizacion.... pero los subtitulos de la traduccion son tan malos q los de habla hispana nos perdemos casi la mitad de cada capitulo por tan ineficiente traduccion. Sds. Cecilia
