Still will have a top 10 defense in the country and probably the best defensive line. You know what OSU’s problem is and has been? The Oline? And who’d you guys bring in from the transfer portal? The center on Alabama who is NOT good. Stars don’t always equal greatness, especially if they can’t stay healthy (Henderson). Other than the Center the Oline is the Oline who couldn’t open up gaps for the run game or protect your QB, so why did you guys get Howard? the downside of a chip kelly offense looking back to oregon was that their defense played about 40% more snaps than any other top 10 team during that time. kelly adapted by rotating 18 players on defense, but i'm not so sure cryin' day is astute enough to recognize the amount of depth they need on defense to stay fresh, especially facing an opponent who's already looking to wear you out by pounding you and eating up clock.

For the life of me, I can't understand why Michigan doesn't get Orji on the field in the capacity of a DK Metcalf with the Seahawks. Put him in the slot or outside or even out of the backfield and get the best athlete on the field the ball! Why is he riding the bench? It's also in Orji's best interest. If he makes a powerful impact in that role, it'll be his best chance for him to get drafted!

I completely agree. I thought the same thing. Like to learn more about him I did see him on a interview. My curiosity is he great leader. Michigan picked up Brady heart if he sticks and I think he will out of Cocoa Florida Four Star 65 200 pounds-ish the other day. Welcome back! I'll be the jerk to pick on all the things I don't like about the new graphics. 1. Ditch the confetti. Way too distracting and unnecessary. Looks cheap. 2.) Way too many reflections on the team bubbles. Use one, and make it offset so its not right at the top. 3.) Turn off the transparency on the bubbles. (No one needs to see through them, certainly not to see the unnecessary confetti.) 4.) Slow down the transitions (pause on each set longer.) 5.) Chill with the team bubble flip direction changes. It looks like that kid learning video editing that decides to use every transition in the editing software. You can keep these flip transitions all in the same direction for consistency. We want to focus on the content, not these graphics. All that said. Excited that we're talking college football again, and eager to see what this new iteration of the B1G looks like.
Hi Steve, Adding some data to your point about the end of college football as we know it, the top winning percentages in Division One before the Rose Bowl were a razor-thin margin between Alabama (0.7340) and Michigan (0.7333). Interestingly, after the Rose Bowl, Michigan actually tied Alabama (0.7335 each), and then edged them out completely after the National Championship Game, finishing with a final winning percentage of 0.7337 compared to Alabama's 0.7335. Therefore, for all the reasons you have exposed about the forthcoming shifts beginning this season, I am at peace if College Football is put to rest for all eternity.

I think Steve missed the live trolling when asked why Alex Orji is not the starter. The reason Orji is not the starter MUST BE be because he has looked THAT BAD in practice. There is no chance Orji is close to Jalen Milroe, other than his stature and running ability. If he could throw with a fraction of the accuracy of Milroe, he would have been the clear starter coming in and they would probably be up there as a favorite to repeat.

It's just odd that they say Ohio State has all this pressure like it is a bad thing. That is what it looks like to have an elite program year in and year out where your "bad stretch" is going 11-2 3 years in a row and being 1 point from a national title one year and 6 pts from being the 1 seed last year. Michigan having no pressure is an indictment on their program. It shows that they're a window program who doesn't have those standards to sustain excellence and defend the national title they just won. They're happy being under the radar and just enjoying what took place last year and finally getting Ohio State a few times.
